BoBo N. RobinSon:
Randy, like all of us, is so, so proud of his little brother Michael (RIP!)
Michael was committed to his chosen field, did his homework thoroughly and became better than the best of his time.
What a Talent! A Genius!
A pious and heavenly human being was HE.
BoBo N. RobinSon Tell me about it! The stuff Mike Brecker played was not of this world it was from another planet or dimension!
C'est ça.
@@musopaul5407 more likely Hanukkah 🕎 😉
AMEN
everyone talks about Brecker. Ms. Khan has an amazing voice and this is a great performance by her
I fucking love how at 3:02 Randy bumps into Mike during his solo and he just hits a crazy high note like it's on cue with their reaction.
Shit, I have seen this so many times and never noticed that.
Hah, that's hilarious ;D. I did notice Randy bumping into Mike before but I never noticed that high note at that time. So funny ;).
made Randy crack up, that's pretty funny. Mike was so in the moment.
I made the exact same observation many years ago on another video of this same performance that was once posted on RUclips but has since been removed. I thought I was one of the only people to have noticed it. I guess I was wrong.
Holy shit @ that sax solo... Every single person on that stage was playin great, but that first solo was the MEAT of this live performance, in my humble opinion. That guy was doin some crazy stuff... Great upload.
The late great Michael Brecker.
The younger brother of the trumpet player, Randy Brecker.
MIKE!!!!!!!!!
@@oRuTRa45 Maestro Randy, whose energy made you clap on the ONE at 3:07?
Just...wow!
So does everyone else on stage just look at Mike and go..."I'm witnessing the greatest improvised solo in the history of the human race???"
Right?
yes
Geeesh Michael Brecker.......WOW......freaking mind blowing solo
Actually caused my hair to tingle. Chaka Khan and the Brecker brothers. WOW !!
"That guy" is Michael Brecker. You are in for a treat if you search his other stuff. Loads of treat.
My M. Brecker obsession continues on. And on and on....
I am listening to one of my top ten mentors regarding the saxophonist that I wish I could become and I just realized something. I am going to have to pick another instrument if I want to live that dream. Love you Michael!
1:58 SAXOPHONE SOLO - GOAT 🐐MICHAEL BRECKER IS ABOUT TO BLOW YOUR MIND AWAY WITH GREATEST SAXOPHONE SOLO IN HUMAN HISTORY
Michael Brecker is a jazz god! Side slipping on display in all it's glory.
Michael Brecker going Beast Mode!
this is still one my favourite bands with Breckers
Chaka Khan - And The Melody Still Lingers On (Night In Tunisia)
nasty nasty nasty!!! and Chaka is no ordinary singer..she uses her voice like an instrument too..the musicians n Chaka blend harmoniously.
i wake up singing this daily
Keyboards: Leon Pendarvis & Denzil "Broadway" Miller
Two very underrated players!
Chaka Khan. Witness perfection. And how the musican's on brass flew and flew...because of Her.
One of my favorite singers Ms. Chaka Kahn she is incredible.
God mike brecker just fucking tears this up.. what a legend
Her voice is something to admire
What a great, funky version of Dizzy's classic 'A Night in Tunisia'.
This is the Chaka I know and LOVE 😘
Absolutely love this song!❤ This song actually stays in my head for days after I listen to it!!❤ Need to see Chaka perform this live!!❤😂
brecker brothers forever
This performance is STRAIGHT FIRE!! Love my Chaka Khan!! 💘 Can't wait for her to come back to Newark, NJ's NJPAC or even the Prudential Center!! She is fantastic in concert!! 💘 🎶 👗 👡 🎼 😍 📷 💋
There is only one chaka Khan! She's awesome! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🔥🔥🔥
Wow! Solos are are unbelievable and so laid back!
Michael and Randy amazing !
Mike killin it as usual, but Randy's solo was great too.
@@musopaul5407 with all due respect to Randy, you can't compare his 32nd notes to Mike's. Mike seems to be always in complete control of what he's doing and blasts those 32nds with milimetrical precision for several bars like it's nothing. Slow the video down to 0.5 speed and Mike's solo is still jaw-dropping (indeed, it helps see the ammount of information his phrases pack, and how perfectly constructed they are). It's not that Randy isn't awesome here, but Mike is just in another level in my opinion.
@@musopaul5407 oh, I misread your comment, I'm sorry! And yeah, I completely agree with you.
@@gordo64fulit's also a little easier to do on sax haha but yeah Mike is absolutely insane
"A Night in Tunisia"!!! 💘 Go Chaka!!
Randy could have forever admired his gifted and hardworking younger brother, the bad-as-goodness Michael.
Shaka with the Band has torn up - badissimo!
MB:RIP!
Never heard this before ! The whole thing is Super Boss.
2:55 Do you ever just...bump into Michael Brecker when he's soloing? We all have don't worry
You mean his brother Randy ?!
Thanks dad for putting up on good music man. I really appreciate that from you. That’s all I wanted to say 🖤
Tons of Talent, Beautiful
This is really amazing, an overseen gem
Who on earth is that on the synth bass??!!?!!! Killin’ it!!!!
I'm trying to know it as well. His synth is low-key making the song along with diva Chaka's high octane vocals, Ferrone's sublime drumming and Brecker's staggering sax.
@Trinitodd & Ironman
It's supposed to be Denzil "Broadway" Miller on the Moog. The Dude with the white hat bouncing and riding da riddim, right?
Leon Pendarvis, is the player on the electric piano. But I think you guys are talking about the other guy.
@@msl5253 I know Denzil by name. Played with a ton of people but I didn't knew his face. Thanks.
Genius, Chaka and the whole band a bunch of geniuses.
Untouchable. Sang it Chaka.
One of my favorites by her, she is always awesome in concert
❤️ the frequency means well. Very well actually. It’s just playing these type of dynamic arrangements nowadays can send one out of space, and these days we’re already smashed up out here man. Hahaha. Very lovely from Chaka and the Allstars group.
RIP Mike Brecker and his brother is blowing smoothly on the trumpet
Can't believe Michael played the original solo on James taylor's Don't let me be lonely tonight in the early (? ) 70s way before this time with Chaka! Cool!
Mike Brecker was a studio musician in the 70s, played with tons of giants of the era. His dear brother Randy also was one.
That’s a filthy groove
drummer is nuts!!!
Steve Ferrone
Michael Brecker, super mito!
Simply Sublime. ❤️🎶
Brecker brutal king!!
Love the “rawness” of this performance! Surely the flats and sharps are an inevitable/essential part of their performances, It also inspires musicians to strive to improve for their future performances. Unlike digital live enhancements nowadays…
Lee Maiden is one of Chaka's good friend from way back Lee is Tony maidens sister tony is the great guitarist of Rufus featuring chaka khan lee is a acclaimed songtress!this is one of my top 5 favorites !!!!🎉❤❤
Man... Mike and Randy Brecker. Absolutely adore all their work from the 70:ies well into the 21:st century. Amazingly talented people. Actually, this very video was what opened my eyes to the their talent. I've started looking into the back catalogue of Brecker Brothers and Michael Brecker Band music. And through them I discovered other great artists like Mike Stern and Neil Jason :D. It's humbling to experience music performed by people with talent on this level :).
Just amazing! I'm crazy about this song, can't stop listening to it
Me, too〜!!!😹
This stage is straight LIT up. Loving it.
Happy Birthday Beautiful Empress!❤
Superb and lovely!
This is what a Queen does when she is Blessed with the pipes to kill an iconic song!!
Just awesome..fantastic! 🙂👍
Thank you.
Her background singers are GÁNGTA!!❤❤❤❤Love this!❤
Correction: GANGSTA!❤This Damned Phone!!LOL!❤❤❤❤❤
Chakas brother and tony maidens sister lee
For years I was torn between which horn I liked best Trumpet or Sax… then I heard Michael Brecker and it was settled ❤

Bravo Breckers! Bravo Chaka!!!! Beautiful!
This fucks extraordinarily
??????
Boooobstereville and the mighty Brecker bros :)
Chaka was hot... no bra, all natural...so fine.
Besides the awesome tenor solo, love the scatting solo that follows!
Simply Amazing!
wow this is revealing, nice remake of A Night In Tunisia
This is a musical gut punch...But with finesse.
Is she in the Hall of Fame???
This is a modern version of the Dizzie Gillespie song called "A Night in Tunisia'.
We’re not worthy!!!!
We truly aren't!
thaaaaaaaaaat bad, man call the fire dpt
Modulating in a scat is wild!
大好きです....
This is actually "A Night in Tunisa" vocalized
Excelente!!!!!!
Cool ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Unreal Funky

Anyone notice the key change at 3:55? While starting in Bminor the melody lingers on in Cminor lol
RANDY 💪💪💪💪💪

Sax man = the late great Michael Brecker, truly one of the giants of the tenor saxophone. You should look up some of his stuff.
Sax man is probs the greatest modern sax player ever
OMG😀
Got to be the best sax solo ever? I gave it a go and couldn't stop thinking that he played it live, in one take and with Randy bumping into him. If you're interested, here is the link to my far inferior version ruclips.net/video/oihSA20PEsY/видео.html
