In this episode in our series of bonsai techniques we will be revisiting a tree we saw at the beginning of this channel the broom style or hokidachi Cork Bark Elm. After the move this tree has been on the back burners as trying to get the new residence up and running and going back to work face to face with my students has left this tree neglected. In this episode we go back and repot and restyle or restart the main branches of this tree has they have grown out of proportions. Well, did it again and ran out of time to cut and select the correct main branches so we doing it again! This video will be in conjunction of a series where we will dive deeper into cork bark elm and broom style. So please join us in this new series. Thanks again for an awesome video. Is it deliberate or is there a strategy in doing a major prune like this after the tree has started budding, as you have in this video?

Roughly about how many years did it take ur elm to “bark up” as much as it has? I have a rough bark elm, only a 3yr old seedling. I know it’s a decade or more away from being anything presentable
