Guild Wars 2 Player Tries WoW Classic - Part 131 - ONYXIA ATTUNEMENT BEGINS

- I have been playing mostly Guild Wars 2 as my main MMO for the past decade. Now it's time to really do a proper deep dive into other mmo's. We are starting off with none other than WoW Classic. Okay so today we are moving away from daily WoW videos and instead focusing more on the interactions between me and you guys. Alright, we are now fully up to date and you guys can guide me wherever you want. Today we are starting the Onyxia attunement quest chain.
For the people who asked me about the aspect ratio; this video is now in 3440x1440 instead of the usual 2560x1440.
Not sure how I'll do this moving forward.
I'm also using 3440x1440, and for me personally the video is more pleasant to watch now, no more black borders.
This quest chain is what I've been looking forward already since the beginning of the series! :D
Also I had a bit stress lately with work so unfortunately couldnt participate in the survey, but great idea to reduce the delay, I'd also would have voted for more interaction :)
Happy to hear that you were aligned with the results. I heard a lot of good stuff about quest chains like these so I'm excited to push forward :)
Also hope your work stress has now been fixed. Taking work home mentally really sucks.
I played Wow from 2005 till 2008 , basically all of Vanilla , TBC and a little WotLK. I was in a server first EU raiding guild together with my real life friends, we kinda stumbled into the raiding meta by accident and got ensnared by this wonderful game for 2 years. Then life caught on and i decided to quit and concentrate on other things.
I never played retail wow ever since, but from about 2015 onwards I tried out various unofficial servers, always the vanilla game. Nostalrius being the most famous, although I played on the lesser known Kronos servers. This scene is what eventually made Blizzard decide to launch Classic and the rest is history. In these years I mostly played rather casually with long breaks, but I also have participated in short periods of more hardcore play. After all this time I am still not done with the original world of Azeroth... There are still classes I barely touched.
Random fact of the day: There is a quest chain that is 32 steps long with many steps requiring a whole raid to complete. It dwarves the Onyxia quest chain. Almost nobody ever finished it , so they don't do this anymore, but it's part of the charm and Legacy of vanilla wow
Great to hear! Sounds like you got your fun as a hardcore player back in the day and now just chill mostly. Which I think is what classic should mostly be.
I feel like my story would have gone similar had I been able to play WoW back in the day. However since I was around 10 when the game blew up, the pay to play aspect kinda pushed the game away from me.
This is where I moved more into the free to play mmo's for many years and ended up falling in love with Guild Wars 1 somewhere around 2008 or so. Then I naturally transitioned into Guild Wars 2. I do really think kid me would have gotten insanely addicted to WoW :D
And man that quest chain sounds insane. Maybe I'll look into it at some point if I feel like I have nothing left to play. However I don't see that happening any time soon.
Wow, so annoying, I don't remember the original game being so buggy. It seems modern Blizzard can't even get classic right. Still interesting to follow the quest line again, though.
Fortunately it's quite rare to encounter this game with truly bad game design. Most of the time I feel quite good about their choices. But this one stood out to me for sure. Having a great time going through the attunement quests. I'm in the process of rendering the longest part of this series yet. Should be going live today :)
Try Turtle WOW, the official classic sadly is full of bots and goldbuyers.
I have heard good things about turtle wow and I might check it out at some point down the line. Haven't noticed the botting or gold selling issue in SoD at all myself. And being 131 videos info this series swapping isn't feasible even if it's better.
