kids today can’t possibly grasp how when Marco or old folk say how things changed month by month - if he specifically meant pop music it’s incredible to think how in the period 1955 to 1990 multiple base genres of popular music would appear every 4 or 5 years .
Thankyou for your efforts in getting Mr Pirroni involved so’s we can all enjoy his recollections & make sense of the back story of those times & the characters who were so fundamental in our lives if you were around then . Adam must’ve benefited from having a direct or grounded guy in the band like him whether he (Adam) appreciates it now or not right now. He didn’t mention Glitter Band re twin drummers - they did leave Mr Gadd after all …😃👍
That was so interesting. I learnt so much about our Marco I didnt know before. Brilliant. Lets hope Adam does agree to a couple of new songs so we can see them both play together 🥰
What a great interview, massive influence in my growing up both Adam and the ants and Madness, I was to young for the punk scene but got into it later, but what a nice guy!
Adam and the Ants lit something up inside my five year old brain. Kings was the first album I bought at that age. I remember seeing Marco in Gossips when I usewd to DJ there on a Wednesday night at a club night called 'For Your Pleasure' back in the mid-90s. Wish I'd spoken to him then. I shared a cab with Adam years later after he performed at Steve Strange's 'The Face' club night where he pulled my mate and I never saw either of them again 🤣 Love Marco. His music and movie tastes are so in-tune with mine. Must be a Taurus thing :D
I was surprised Marco didn't mention the John Barry Seven, as he used to say that was where he got his musical ideas from... maybe it was just a phase. (This was early 80s).
I think I've watched all of Marco's recent, and fairly recent interviews. I hope and pray there's a light-bulb moment with Adam. It's the twilight of both their careers. They need to draw any line in the sand, & collaborate together again, whilst they still have time. Adam's 70! Just do us all a favour & get back together.. Don't be square, (be There) etc, etc. 🙂
Great interview and what a character. Going back to Adam & The Ants, I have an archive of photographs from my local newspaper and among them some of Adam and Marco visiting Aylesbury's CBS record pressing factory in Oct 1980. Adam is wearing black leather trousers and a teeshirt whilst Marco wears a woolly jumper tucked into a pair cords. What a contrast!
I can see why going from London to living in the middle of nowhere would be boring! I'd rather have a bedsit in the middle of London than a mansion in the countryside
If a band whom i can’t recall didn’t cancel their appearance on Top Of The Pops , Sultans of Swing by a pub rock band would’ve dropped from its peak of No.27 or whatever & listening to Wave 105 at work throughout the 90s & 00s wouldn’t have been so tiresome….
It was rather embarrassing that you thought Marco played on Dirk. You were obviously only aware of later reissues which featured songs not on the original album. Also, you seemed oblivious to The Normal, and the duo Suicide when Marco mentioned them.
Yes my mistake on that - I was referring to the later release. I know the Normal and Suicide (Daniel Miller is featured on two of my Vince Clarke episodes on the channel) Thanks for watching 🙏

Great stuff!! Nice to see the clip of us playing with the main man, a treasured moment!
Thanks for letting me use it 🙏
The Wolf Is Getting Married is a fabulous song.
FINALLY! I always wanted to know Marco's opinion on a great deal of Punk/Adam history 😎
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great interview, Marco is the best.... hope Adam gets in touch for a reunion, Marco obviously has fond memories of working with him...

Thanks for your comment - he’s a great guy 🙏
@@skyaazpodcastwould be great if he hooked up with Adam again!
Saw Adam and the ants at Newcastle city hall, about 81 i think,i was 11 or 12,my first ever gig, loved em,they were brilliant. 🎸🎸❤️❤️
What a legend. Marco ought to nip over the border to Nottingham, there's a very healthy rock music scene there, to keep him from being bored.
Very good interesting interview 👍 well done Paul 🎶🎵
Glad you enjoyed it - thanks 🙏

Marco and Adam had great chemistry
thanks for the memories marco
Legend. The big man is a legend. Respect !!!
Was Marco in the punk group The Models? They did a song called " Man of the Year" in '77
Yes. Freeze / Man of the Year on the Step Forward label, I bought it, good single
That was a brilliant song, got me pogoing alright! Thanks for the info.
Marco’s cam angle needs respect 🫡 👏👏👏

I don't normally have the attention span for a long youtube video but this one was great ,i got to the end
Haha brilliant - I love long form content - glad you made it! 😃
@skyaazpodcast when something is good it doesn't feel that long 😁
Very enjoyable.
Glad you enjoyed it
Sat with Marco in Birmingham hotel bar, Dexys were there too. Great musician
Those were the days 🎸🎸🎸🎸
Yes it was! 🙏

Thank you for watching and commenting - the pics sound cool 😎
Marco is a class act and reading between the lines,I really think he would work with Adam again its such a shame.
Adam and the ants were brilliant i have there album Kings of the wild frontier now im 58
Great Interview
Thank you 🙏
Crazy dsys❤😂🎉
Good interview made great by asking about the great anti anarchists bit in Ant Rap.
Thanks for watching and commenting too - appreciated 🙏
I remember seeing him play with sinead o Connor he had such presents
Sorry Cars hasn't aged, those entwining synths will never age! The pleasure Principle still sounds fantastic.
Don’t get me wrong - I like Numans early stuff too - thanks for your comment and watching 🙏
Adam And The Ants music was definitely music from an era, where cars still sounds futuristic
Agree with you about "Cars" but I think "The Pleasure principle" as an album is very repetitive sounding. "Conversation" is great as well, though.
I can see why going from London to living in the middle of nowhere would be boring! I'd rather have a bedsit in the middle of London than a mansion in the countryside
Ah yes. The Derbyshire Witch.
You KNOW when you've been Yoko'd. Well, I knew Marco man. 😉🏴☠️

Marco looks older than his years
Sure I saw this video about two years ago?
Nope - it was recorded a few days ago 🥴
Rema Rema was the best band he was in and yet there was no mention ??
Great interview.. but ffs, them dogs....😱 couldn't listen anymore...

Cars by Gary Numan has aged , but Marco pretending to strum a harp hasn’t, sorry I had to stop watching at that point !
Bye
