    I made the Thai Basil Chicken thighs for my daughter's family since she recently had back surgery. I've sent many frozen meals to them but this is the one she asked for the recipe. They loved it! Thank you!!

    I love your channel and your recipes. One thing I wish you’d do is announce on your video how much of each ingredient you’re adding as your adding it. That would enable us to watch your video and cook alongside you rather than being forced to go to your description box. The description box is great too for clarifications and for printing etc. But for coming in would enjoy being snore to cook while watching your video and pausing it as I cook alongside your video. Thank you for the great recipes! Your recipes are perfect for our family and your fun and great to watch! Have a great day!

      Paul - thank you for that feedback. We’ve actually got a new series of videos coming out in a few weeks with just what you’re hoping for! They are going to be a “cook with me” format where we will even provide a printable shopping list for you to prepare and go through each measurement and ingredient.

    My mom makes a recipe called "whacky chicken" in the summer when she has all her kid, their husband's, and all the grandkids... she uses the chicken drumsticks, a bottle of Catalina, a pack of onion soup, and grape jelly... it's pretty good, and I have also made it using a can of cranberry sauce in a can when I had an abundance of cans

    You can sous vide in the actual freezer bag. As long as the temp of the water doesn’t get higher than 190 degrees. It’s all about learning to get temp right then set and forget it. So you can get water read, throw in freezer bag and leave it all to come up to temp and cook while other things are being done around the house. Just periodically check it to make sure water temperature stays consistent. I tried it awhile back and the food was amazing.

    When you are at the end of the tube of ginger paste, get out your kitchen shears and cut it open at the bottom. You can add a tiny bit of water and get all of the goodness out of there.

    These all look delicious and easy. Would you share how many servings each bag is. I also noticed you don't date your bags. Also wondering how you categorize them in the freezer?

    • @FreezerMeals101
      @FreezerMeals101  2 года назад

      Hi Marsha - our bags typically serve a meal for 4 to 6 people. Chicken meals are nice because there is a bit of wiggle room on how much chicken you can add before you need to make extra sauce. It comes down to your family's needs. For Christie's family of four, there is enough for them, plus a lunch or two for the next day. But the same meal will feed Sharla's family of nine because her girls eat like birds. We typically DO date our bags, but we do it off camera. We always put dates on our labels for mega marathon sessions so we can track our meals in the freezer. As for categorizing... again, that's sort of up to you! We tend to spread our meals around in the freezer so, for example, we don't have all the chicken recipes together and have chicken three nights in a row because that's what's on top. In our FB group facebook.com/groups/241144882941938/, there are several veteran freezer meal makers that have quite the system in how they sort involving reusable shopping bags, freezer baskets and charts for rotation! Others... not so much. Sorry this turned into something much longer than I intended but I hope it helps!

    Thanks for sharing all of the great meal ideas. Quick question, with recipes like the sheet pan fajitas, do you find any difference if you use fresh peppers and onions as compared to already frozen and sliced peppers and onions since they are going into the freezer anyways? Would like to save time by not having to chop peppers and onions. Keep up the great work!

    • @FreezerMeals101
      @FreezerMeals101  2 года назад +1

      I've never actually used pre-frozen onions or peppers, but I really don't see why they wouldn't work as long as you didn't thaw them and re-freeze them.

      Stovetop for around 15 minutes (add a bit of oil to the pan first) until chicken is cooked through.

    Question, can I defrost chicken to make these freezer meals and then re-freeze the meat? All my meat comes frozen.

    • @FreezerMeals101
      @FreezerMeals101  Год назад

      It's generally not considered safe to do that unless you cook it in between. What I do with frozen chicken breasts is cook it and cube it or shred it as we do have a lot of recipes that call for cooked chicken. Occasionally, I will use frozen chicken and add a marinade and just be careful to be fast so it doesn't have time to thaw. The only negative about that is that the bags don't lie as flat in the freezer but it still works and the meat marinates as it thaws on the day of cooking.

    • @FreezerMeals101
      @FreezerMeals101  2 года назад +1

      I throw in the leftover chicken (cubed), all the leftover sauce, anything else leftover such as rice, onions, garlic, carrots, if I've got frozen or leftover peas, water. I sometimes add a can of tomato soup. I make soups out of leftovers regularly. It really stretches the grocery dollars! ruclips.net/video/hgOyhlvB4oE/видео.html

      Hi Sandra - I answered this question for you on another video, so I apologize for the copy and paste but I thought it was a good question and other might benefit from the answer.
      Chicken can be frozen and used for three months. Are there times when I find one that's six months old and I still cook it??? Sure. It's happens. But it's recommended to use freezer meals within three months. I think when there are only two of you, working in smaller batches will help you stay on top of getting them used up. Typically, if we're making meals for two, we just split one of our regular meals into two smaller containers. If you're ok with having the same recipes come up again in your rotation more often, you can double that and make four but then don't make as many recipes, so you have a chance to get through them all in that 3 month window if possible. I hope that helps!

      It's a Click and Grow 9 pod. You can find them here: amzn.to/3iDwY7N You can get smaller ones, but of course for our large family, I find the bigger one nice. You put these little pods in it and can grow anything from flowers to herbs. I grow cilantro, chives, rosemary, basil, dill, and peppermint. I sometimes also grow wild strawberries or baby tomatoes but that's more for fun as they are super small.

    - No links for EACH recipe. (I like to print and save.)
    - Not only no printable, but while you demo, there’s no measurements mentioned, and cooking instructions. Ex. That Ladies Chicken
    Are we suppose to serve over rice? Or is it treated like a side dish?
    I’ve gone through the chicken and beef videos this morning and totally frustrated that some of them are vague and lacking specific details.

    • @FreezerMeals101
      @FreezerMeals101  Год назад

      Hi Danielle, I hear exactly what you’re saying and if it’s just recipes you’re looking for, then there are memberships for less. In fact, most of our recipes are available for free! The Club is about being able to create meal plans, easily print your shopping list, and print labels with the cooking instructions. There is nothing out there exactly like it. There is one with some similar capabilities but without as many customization options that sells for $179.88 a year.
      I totally understand if the Club is not right for you. It’s more for those who know that doing freezer meals would save them more than that monthly but also know that without a system like this, they’re less likely to actually do them. We do have an option to purchase for just one year but we don’t have a monthly option.
      I hope that helps explain a bit better what the fee is for.
