The closest that they have for sale here in Montreal is what they call a Queen Elizabeth cake.......good but NOT German chocolate cake. Thank you for this. ❤️

When I make my icing for my German chocolate cake I mix everything together and then cook it. Mine doesn’t turn out yellow like yours. You just made pudding and then mixed the coconut and nuts in it.

I truly must say you're one heck of a cook paneer from Collard Valley I would you could stand up against any of the chefs out there today and the cooks and I believe that because I watch you can I watch everything that you do and you're a very good at cooking I'm 75 and I've pretty much I don't get that much anymore I tried to handle one to my children but they're not interested and it's my fault because I never would allow them in the kitchen because they got on my nerves I was so OCD and such a perfectionist and that was my fault and so my children never really learn how to cook and I'm a hell of a cook and I don't go by recipe so there's nothing to leave behind I know my grandson's wife's wanted to my recipes and we tried to go through before they could do the recipe with what I was doing and it's it's a lot of work for them so they're not going to get my recipes and I told him just watch love has Hutchins if you're a visual person you'll get it it may take three or four times that you will know and you've got that taste when I was young I have thrown away many of dishes in the trash can but when I had it right I knew it you want you got it down you got it again I do believe that you're a fantastic Cook young lady and I really think somebody's company should be sponsoring you and I still think if you get in touch with Southeastern Mills there

German chocolate and carrot cake and of course cream cheese pound cake lemon yeah I can take or leave red velvet cake because it is really hard to fix and sometimes you get it right and sometimes you don't so I just do not see where that I don't like Bakery red velvet my mother was the pro on that one so I never could master that like I said sometimes I could get it right and sometimes I couldn't and that's a lot of times I just found like to know I'll stick to my German chocolate in my carrots and my lemon pound cheesecake but there are so many many other cakes please adjust a few loose or some of my favorites there you go to that are easy that you don't have to go to a recipe but this you can do by memory that because it's down on all the holidays and in between please don't forget homemade banana pudding from scratch
I am making a tiramisu cake today instead of using ladyfingers I went ahead and I'm making a sheet cake out of it and I will later it and I'm going to miss my Mascarpone cheese along with I was holding my whipping cream later yeah the coffee sitting since yesterday is good and strong so we'll have some good tiramisu tonight with chicken and dumplings that's a good combination in chicken and dumplings and for dessert and Italian tiramisu cake it don't get no better like I said you can do it all as if whatever is whatever you want to do I'm taking a little 10-minute rest here I got to go back in a minute for some more coffee on the cake and let it soak in about 4 hours I'll have my tiramisu just don't get in a hurry and with my great-grandchildren I have three and myself and my daughter in 2 days is gone have my other grandson to come of it it's a done deal what's up with I'm lucky if I get a taste of it but that's okay LOL
Tammy, did you use margarine in the cake? I recently got some Land O Lakes margarine at the store to bake with since I've seen you use margarine (or thought I did 😂). There are many variations built on one recipe. Everyone has a favorite lasagne, meatloaf, brownie, chocolate chip cookie, etc. It may not be YOUR recipe but it is a German chocolate cake. Don't be narrow minded. Variety is the spice of life😙

You can, I can not remember, I use what ever is handy. I normally by margarine because it is cheaper except for the holidays!
Yeah it was margarine sticks = lots of trans fat - butter has way less trans fat
