And the mistake for the Ghost Busters car is also a mistake in a Minions the rise of Gru set that I built with my friend so when we were building Keven or Stuart that same mistake was happening in that set I am not sure if LEGO has fixed or not
Malformed Legos are so rare you can sell them for a profit. If you ever find a Lego that didn't fill the mold all the way, it can be worth five bucks or more depending on the piece, color, and if it's vintage
For the printed pieces that are similar but mismatched, this is intentional (although frustrating). Lego often updates printed elements and when they do, they just start putting them in sets that called for the previous design. If you purchase a set that has been in production for a long time, like assembly square, you will get dials, clocks, etc. that are updated designs while the instructions will not match.
Imagine not knowing about this and spending hours trying to find the right pieces. (I know I would've made that mistake without your reply, so thank you)
I actually have the Jungle Dragon set, and I personally decided to follow the box art, because the daggers in question made the figure very front heavy, so by flipping the blades down it assisted the figure in standing.
#6 the minecraft one. doesn't seem like a mistake so much as the photographer opting to move the piece for visibility in the shot, otherwise its largely obscuring the flower from that angle. sometimes you have to do things like that for clarity and considering that the angle is optimal for everything else from a composition standpoint this would have been the best solution
I have seen this kind of minor mismatches on the box art for several Lego sets, mainly small to mid-sized sets with several different components. Often the box art tries to show-off all the components in a single photo, and if this implies having to do slight alterations and/or move some stuff around, often they will.
There's a bit more to that buggy one, there's more than the duped spoiler. Infact there back end seems to be duped almost entirely. Two of the full spoilers, and an extra mini technic gear, and the bent arms for the technic beams. Went back and forth on the image after it to make sure I wasn't going crazy!
Actually, *the entire image* is duplicated. Note the three seats, the extra side bumpers, the two steering gears on top, the double sets of red tubes in front... everything is duped!
Note the large yellow plates to be added in step 12 of the second model of set 8040 (on page 13 of the instructions)... And I would love if more older sets be included in your videos. Mistakes did happen back then, too.
I have a correction for the 60p42 Police set about the kickstands. On the front image, the kick stands are there, if you look closely, just on the right side of the bikes. In the instructions, they show the kickstands being put on the left side of the bikes. Still an error, just incorrectly identified.
you can see at 5:11 that the bikes actually have the kickstand, it's just on the other side of the bike and hidden by most of it. you can spot the end of the pneumatic t-piece in bluish gray peeking out between the axle holes. the pice at 6:10 is not a mistake, it's a redesign of the classic 1x2 tile with dials that was used in the instructions and promo pictures. it was just introduced when the production of the Ecto-1 finished
I’m building the dr strange sanctum sanctorum right now and I’ve noticed a few weird things. There’s some cone pieces in the first bag that have yet to be used in the build so far after bag 13, a spare piece from bag 8 ended up being mandatory for bag 9, and one part of the set is 4 jewel pieces broken off from a plastic circle, and one step shows placing one gem on its own, before the next page shows breaking the other 3 off from the circle bit.
5:09 they actually do have kickstands. They are just on the other side of the bike. In fact, you can see part of the light gray rod piece between the two openings. Still, they technically are on the wrong side. My guess is that they either photographed it and later had the picture mirrored to fit the box art better, or they put the kickstands on the wrong side.
My old set 8877 Vladek’s Dark Fortress was actually missing a black 1x16 (part 2465) brick. It was to be used as a support piece over the gate. One of the only times I had a lego piece missing and i’ve never forgotten it.
3:37 Not certain if I would consider that an error. It's just that if they followed the instructions the plant would be hard to see on the front of the bag and it might look like you're getting less.
Biggest mistakes I've seen is my sets missing parts that make it impossible to finish building the set. I started collecting Legos again last year and this has already happened to me 3 times now. Idk if I'm just unlucky or what but it blows my mind that this happens this often.
#2 has never affected me because it took me until this year after turning 20 years old, that the bag numbers actually get built in that order. My entire life, I've built Millennium Falcons, Lion Temples, etc by opening every single bag all at once and throwing them all into a massive a couple separated piles.
It’s always interesting to me that so many people notice the bags having the wrong numbers. I’m not used to looking at the numbers since that’s a pretty new thing, although definitely helpful with the larger sets these days.
You brought back a lot of memories when you pointed out the mistake on the technic buggy. I had seen it as well but you don't really care about things like that when you're 9
#10 is also in another set. Either the Technic Skid Steer Loader or another one I own, I, can't remember exactly, but the same thing happened to me once. I'll keep you updated if I figure it out lol
Jep, Lego updated a few of these prints in early 2021 and you could find either new or old versions in several sets with the instructions still showing the old ones.
I found a mistake in the new jazz club. To finish bag 12’s steps you actually need to use pieces from bag 13. Found that out after 30 minutes of tearing apart my desk area lol.
I'm building the AT-AT and I just spotted that error yesterday! 😅 Also, I had one missing piece on a bag and one extra piece that I didn't need. Contacted Lego and got it sorted in a week. Top quality customer service from them 😉
1:00 this wouldnt have tripped me up cause ever since i was a kid i would open all the bags and dump everything and sort the pieces before i built anything.
I had two of these sets, but i never noticed those mistakes! It takes a lot of attention to notice these things! Nice job fellow subscribers for noticing these minuscule details! And also thanks SpitBrix for the video!
1) most of these do not break the rules 2) I am convinced the only reason people even mention these issues: it has to do with the overall concept that Lego is so thorough a simple instruction element is shocking. As a clever RUclipsr pointed out how the precision is appreciated dispite: "realising the Legos are going straight in my mouth." ~CountDoucheula (Simply the name of the OP)
you have to watch the first video to understand why the series is called this way - as those were even more absurd errors of builds that are physically impossible :)
Oh, I guess you’re right. I do remember expecting this video to contain placement errors, but it’s mostly just printing and other instruction book errors (some of which you could call impossible-building, though).
I actually noticed the Castle mistake while I was building it a few months ago and I immediately sent it to my friends. Thought I was going crazy for a minute XD
For me the worst "mistake" of all was the large hole on both side of the noses of 7897 train. It's not in the pictures, but is present in the details (4 holes in total).
There's also a few construction rule-breaks in the AT-AT set, but they're done intentionally to increase structural integrity at the expense of not being able to disassemble those portions of the model.
The ice cream truck police chase set (60314) there is a mistake on book 1 on page 13, it tells you to get a 2 x 2 white flat piece but I doesn't tell you where to put it. On the next page (page 14) it magically appears on the atm machine. Hopefully this makes sense lol, I tried my hardest to explain it.
The fiat 500 blue lego set (77942), in step 76, says to put on two 1×1 round studs. However, it only says where to put one of them (on a technic pin on a stick). (The other stud in the next step -77- appears in its place behind the sticks between the seats. This stud only appears in this step then disappears for the next few steps until it's covered up.) In the next step the stud thats supposed to go on the technic pin doesn't appear there, and the mistake is only fixed by step 158. (The stud does appear by steps 78 and 141, which are both the last steps of the bags (1&2). It appears and disappears multiple times). In the yellow fiat 500 (10271) you can see what is supposed to happen, the mistake is only by the blue fiat 500. Two mistakes in the same step. The interesting part is that lego just used the same things for the set and just changed the color. But they added a mistake too... The set number for the blue fiat is 77942, the set number for the yellow fiat is 10271.
I've never had Lego make a mistake with any of my sets. I did get an extra pair of legs for a clone trooper once, but I wouldn't consider that a mistake so much as a happy accident
For that Ninjago Jungle Dragon set, I'd follow the box myself. Those weapons are likely supposed to be Kama, a traditional Japanese farming tool often used as a weapon by ninjas.
at 5:09 you can see the kickstand, its just on the opposite side of the bike. you can see the light bluish gray rod sticking through the axle hole on the opposite side for both bikes.
2:50 hmm, my guess is they have some automated tool that removes those little stands they pose the minifigs on, and the droid got caught by that filter
5:44 I have Ecto-1 and Aston martin DB5, they are in a row on that vid, they both have print mistakes, + they are both technically creator expert cars.
9398 4x4 crawler - photo on the box, front of the bridge vs. the model itself: 2L pepr con vs. L shape con 42100 Liebherr excavator - 1) blueprint vs. instruction/model itsel: tubes on the top of the boom are not threaded vs. treaded, 2) Contol+ blueprint vs model: mirror image
i have found a lego ninjago set that break the rules, that is NINJAGO DOJO TEMPLE (71767) .on pg. no.288 of it's list ,the piece that is holding the katana of kai's mech of left arm is missing i.e. it's is miss printed just below the arm.
The lego gandalf the grey brick headz set had two errors in the same book/build. One out of order build direction and one misnumbering the amount of pieces needed for a section.
#7 is not a mistake. Stickers (and box art, book covers, etc. too for that matter) are printed with overflow outside the used area, so there are no "white lines" or other misalignment issues. Here it's also visible that the print has an overflow of about 1 mm. The stickers were then taken off and put back on (or alternatively, shifted during transport). It's impossible that the lines ON the sticker and those on the overflow are printed in a way that they do not match. It would require infinite alignment precision.
On the 60042 set i noticed the kickstand missing on the dirt bike as a kid but I just figured they placed it on the other side or left it out just so it would look better in the picture.
That castle set has another error. At some point when building the castle a piece suddenly appears on the model a couple pages before you're told to attach it. I want to say it was a dark grey 2x2 brick, but I can't say for certain. Definitely caused me a bit of confusion.
Thanks for that alert, i was planning on getting that set soon. I'll make sure to pay closer attention to the instructions more closely than I usually do when i do get it.
I was going back through the set 75300 Tie Fighter instructions to check out that error you mentioned and in the process discovered another one in pretty much the same steps/area. Step 25 has two 2x3 plates that show up out of nowhere and they get called for in step 28 (same step that that 1x4 plate shows up out of nowhere)
I noticed a strange inconsistency on the recent christmas tree multibuild set, specifically with the orientation of the candles and star between the box and instructions. The candle flames are obviously the wrong way on the bottom of the big tree on the box and, according to the instructions, the small star is actually upside down on the top of the big tree. I guess being a multibuild leaves it more open to those sort of mistakes or something.
im dont think the mistake withe the Minecraft plant is a mistake I'm pretty-sure its allowing for customisation so you can put the plant and egg on any of those one stud pieces
I think the reason why they moved the flower to beside the pillar for the image on the Lego Minecraft bag is so it could be seen and not hidden by the dock

Already did
bruh lego stop failing
Don’t tell me what to do
And the mistake for the Ghost Busters car is also a mistake in a Minions the rise of Gru set that I built with my friend so when we were building Keven or Stuart that same mistake was happening in that set I am not sure if LEGO has fixed or not
Sup it’s my birth day on Monday
The fact that mistakes in Lego sets are so hard to spot and are big deal shows how rare they truly are
Aye. Their quality control is amazing.
Malformed Legos are so rare you can sell them for a profit. If you ever find a Lego that didn't fill the mold all the way, it can be worth five bucks or more depending on the piece, color, and if it's vintage
Whats rarer lego misprints or lego sets that break the law
Yeah that how Lego is
I now right ho ar u doing
For the printed pieces that are similar but mismatched, this is intentional (although frustrating). Lego often updates printed elements and when they do, they just start putting them in sets that called for the previous design. If you purchase a set that has been in production for a long time, like assembly square, you will get dials, clocks, etc. that are updated designs while the instructions will not match.
Imagine not knowing about this and spending hours trying to find the right pieces. (I know I would've made that mistake without your reply, so thank you)
the "mistakes" infuriated me until i read this.
This problem is present in my ideas tree house.
I actually have the Jungle Dragon set, and I personally decided to follow the box art, because the daggers in question made the figure very front heavy, so by flipping the blades down it assisted the figure in standing.
Yeah mustve been for photos
#6 the minecraft one. doesn't seem like a mistake so much as the photographer opting to move the piece for visibility in the shot, otherwise its largely obscuring the flower from that angle. sometimes you have to do things like that for clarity and considering that the angle is optimal for everything else from a composition standpoint this would have been the best solution
It also show that the flower is growing on a sand/grass block hybrid.
Exactly what I thought, you wouldn’t be able to see it from that angle if they didn’t move it
I have seen this kind of minor mismatches on the box art for several Lego sets, mainly small to mid-sized sets with several different components.
This is at 5:09.
Also, #10 looks to be another case of updated prints compared to the product image.
If I worked at lego making instructions I’d be sweating bullets knowing that the internet would point out even the most minor of mistakes
7:00 It's not just the spoiler that's been layered. The entire model image has been duplicated and layered!
Yeah when it showed step 41 i was like that is not what i saw in step 39
I can't even come up with enough words to complement the absolutely INSANE skills that went into creating this. Simply AMAZING!!!
The part where the bags get mixed up when be a problem for me because I'm a menace and open all the bags at once
I have kept every single instruction book i have ever had in a bag and now i have to check.
7:57 I was about to have a shock attack because out of these 15 sets this is the only one I own and already built and thought I’d have to restart.
you can see at 5:11 that the bikes actually have the kickstand, it's just on the other side of the bike and hidden by most of it.
you can spot the end of the pneumatic t-piece in bluish gray peeking out between the axle holes.
the pice at 6:10 is not a mistake, it's a redesign of the classic 1x2 tile with dials that was used in the instructions and promo pictures. it was just introduced when the production of the Ecto-1 finished
The bikes the criminals are riding are also switched
6:46 It's not just the spoiler on the back, the entire image is duplicated over itself.
The Ecto-1 has three printed pieces that are different from the instructions. Including the speedometer, and a clock.
Oh yes! I always look forward to these type of videos!
How exactly is this breaking rules? These are just mistakes… breaking rules would be “illegal” building techniques no?
Make a Lego set out of illegal building tactics
6:30 that happened in the minions jet set, one piece wasn’t like in the instructions
I love these videos keep up the good work
My old set 8877 Vladek’s Dark Fortress was actually missing a black 1x16 (part 2465) brick. It was to be used as a support piece over the gate. One of the only times I had a lego piece missing and i’ve never forgotten it.

dang thanks these will come in handy😎

My entire life, I've built Millennium Falcons, Lion Temples, etc by opening every single bag all at once and throwing them all into a massive a couple separated piles.
My Porg set had a duplicate bag and was missing another bag!
Lego just sent me a bricks and pieces order for the entire bag.
When there is a discrepancy, I don't follow the box or the instructions. I follow my heart.
It’s always interesting to me that so many people notice the bags having the wrong numbers. I’m not used to looking at the numbers since that’s a pretty new thing, although definitely helpful with the larger sets these days.
When I got the set dawn of the iron doom, the top of the box with the character names got the time twins names switched
Amazing video as always!
You brought back a lot of memories when you pointed out the mistake on the technic buggy. I had seen it as well but you don't really care about things like that when you're 9
Love ur vids
#10 is also in another set. Either the Technic Skid Steer Loader or another one I own, I, can't remember exactly, but the same thing happened to me once. I'll keep you updated if I figure it out lol

1:50 Ah, yes, the CAD man was overwhelmed that day.
1) most of these do not break the rules
2) I am convinced the only reason people even mention these issues: it has to do with the overall concept that Lego is so thorough a simple instruction element is shocking. As a clever RUclipsr pointed out how the precision is appreciated dispite: "realising the Legos are going straight in my mouth." ~CountDoucheula (Simply the name of the OP)
"breaking the rules" is just a fun way of saying "Lego made a mistake"
you have to watch the first video to understand why the series is called this way - as those were even more absurd errors of builds that are physically impossible :)
Oh, I guess you’re right. I do remember expecting this video to contain placement errors, but it’s mostly just printing and other instruction book errors (some of which you could call impossible-building, though).
Wait, we’re you correcting me or the other guy?
I have a mistake in one of my Lego instruction books. I’ll email it to you to use in another part of this series
I bought the lego titanic last year and i never noticed the mistake and the passenger train but with the same prints and they were probobly fixed
I actually noticed the Castle mistake while I was building it a few months ago and I immediately sent it to my friends. Thought I was going crazy for a minute XD
there is also the minecraft creeper ambush. the box shows the poppy and jumper on a different spot.
For me the worst "mistake" of all was the large hole on both side of the noses of 7897 train. It's not in the pictures, but is present in the details (4 holes in total).

Two mistakes in the same step.
The interesting part is that lego just used the same things for the set and just changed the color. But they added a mistake too...
The set number for the blue fiat is 77942, the set number for the yellow fiat is 10271.
absolutely love the video and channel. Liked and subscribed!
Bro i have never thought i will see a video minutes after its posted 🍀
5:59 this piece is also used in the 2022 BTTF Delorean set
8:29 there is a mistake in the video. The white inside the box art has been cut away and now it shows the video background!
One hour ago, the series is back yasss
I've never had Lego make a mistake with any of my sets. I did get an extra pair of legs for a clone trooper once, but I wouldn't consider that a mistake so much as a happy accident

3:09 FRANCO IS MY IRL NAME
k
5:08 the kick stand is on the other side of the bike, can kinda see the light gray in the middle of both bikes
Amazing video thank you
at 5:09 you can see the kickstand, its just on the opposite side of the bike. you can see the light bluish gray rod sticking through the axle hole on the opposite side for both bikes.
I found a major mistake in most lego star wars set.
Most sets from the sequels come with a Rey minifigure.
2:50 hmm, my guess is they have some automated tool that removes those little stands they pose the minifigs on, and the droid got caught by that filter
also how do you know there is no kick stand on the other side?
5:15?
Oh wow, I have the last three of the sets shown and haven't noticed those mistakes.
5:44 I have Ecto-1 and Aston martin DB5, they are in a row on that vid, they both have print mistakes, + they are both technically creator expert cars.
Nice video
4:49 was the first lego set i ever got when i was younger
9398 4x4 crawler - photo on the box, front of the bridge vs. the model itself: 2L pepr con vs. L shape con
42100 Liebherr excavator - 1) blueprint vs. instruction/model itsel: tubes on the top of the boom are not threaded vs. treaded, 2) Contol+ blueprint vs model: mirror image
I've had 2 lego bags with other smaller bags fused to the bigger bag in side between the top
How do I have most of these sets and have never seen these mistakes till now, when going through the instructions 😂🔥
i have found a lego ninjago set that break the rules, that is NINJAGO DOJO TEMPLE (71767) .on pg. no.288 of it's list ,the piece that is holding the katana of kai's mech of left arm is missing i.e. it's is miss printed just below the arm.
i didn’t even realise that the one 60042 my bro own had a mistake..
I found the same problem in set 60095 when building the mini-sub as you did when making set 10274, with the different printed tile.
I hope everyone who faces these mistakes got a laugh out of them later on.
your videos are great
GREAT VIDEO SPINBRIX LEGO SETS BREAK THE RULES 🌐📦
the minecraft error was probably because if they put it in the right spot, alex would block the flower mostly
On the 60042 set i noticed the kickstand missing on the dirt bike as a kid but I just figured they placed it on the other side or left it out just so it would look better in the picture.
I like that the three last ones has a dragon on it.
"should you follow the box or the instructions in this case?"
yes
I also already had the Red Creatures set and never noticed.
The one that gripes me the most is the stickers for the Dodge dragster set. The bees are backwards
Can u do more blind bags pls
All the channels i subscribe to, their videos realeses when I’m at school
The school set has kids named Billy and Madison. Nice reference, Lego.
For Mistake 12, it also looks like there was three chairs, when there was supposed to be two
The series returned.
For more rule breakers
Not sure if it counts but on step 66 of the 8169, Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4. it makes you place a sticker over 2 parts, connecting them!
im dont think the mistake withe the Minecraft plant is a mistake I'm pretty-sure its allowing for customisation so you can put the plant and egg on any of those one stud pieces
The biggest mistake lego made is the lack of DC superhero sets.
I once got a extra heavy clone in the new 501st battle pack
Thanks for the shout out!
I think the reason why they moved the flower to beside the pillar for the image on the Lego Minecraft bag is so it could be seen and not hidden by the dock
