What happens to the stained glass windows on the sanctuary side of the building?? Are they being moved to the other side or discarded? If you have no plans on reusing, I want mine. After all the work and fundraising my husband and I did for OJC for over 20 years, it's sad to see that this is what it has come to. What about the downstairs Jay Myers Sanctuary?? Does that just get destroyed?? What happens to the memorial boards upstairs and downstairs? Can the pew seats be reused or donated to another synagogue or church ?? We are no longer members and do not live in New York anymore, therefor I cannot attend any meetings. Just want answers especially on my stained glass window.

Why go talk to Oceanside Kiwanis before talking to the congregation and the Oceanside community? How did you come across this opportunity? Have you ever developed properties before, besides house flipping?

I've worked with Charles on several projects. To be honest, most developers would not go to the people of the community to get their ideas and input. I think what he is doing is commendable.

No one in the community wants this project

He doesn’t want single family homes, which is what the property is zoned for. Says it’s not feasible. It’s all about maximizing profit.

Charles Weinraub just took down links to his Instagram message where he claims that the meeting at OJC was a huge success. He removed the links in response to all the negative feedback from the Oceanside community. Apparently, he is trying to DUPE the community into believing that he has our support, when, in fact, this certainly is NOT the case! Let's see how long this RUclips stays up. It is now 10:44 AM on 9/27/2019...

Any update on this? Seems absolutely no movement on a re-zone.

Where do they find these people? No offense. Ask Mike Flynn what we should do there. I respect his Real Estate knowledge and he is an Oceanside native.

Great to see a developer trying to make a difference in the community. Most of these developers don’t care about the people. You just wake up one day and someone is building something in your backyard you didn’t want, need, or even ask for. At least this guy is making an effort to find out what people might want. I appreciate that.

This whole “ development “ is so vague can’t wait to hear because if this guy plans on doing commercial development it will ruin the neighborhood !! Can’t wait to hear And respond to this guy at the 9/18 meeting OJC , all neighbors should attend and express concerns !!!

Brett Halem. Thank you for the comment. My team has been sending out mailers, meeting local groups, and promoting the meeting on social media. The goal is to get feedback from as many Oceanside residents as possible. The is an open forum for idea sharing and communication. I hope you have the opportunity to attend. I would love to meet you and hear your ideas.

Charles Weinraub oh I will be their!!! Bet on that ! These vague proposals can have a detrimental effect on quality of life issues for us that directly surround this area, not to mention how it will possibly negatively effect out taxes and destroy my home value ! So Charles I look forward to this meeting !!!

@@bretthalem9555 This guy is full of shit, its all smoke and mirrors, we will show up and let him know NO re-zoning will be accepted. We are a small town who likes being a small town, traffic is bad enough, and we want out kids safe, adding 120 units, 500 plus people who have NO interest in the betterment of our town will not be accepted. Safety of the kids is foremost, having "renters" in and out is not safe for the community. As well as de-valuing the value of all existing houses

There are 3 other Conservative synagogues within two miles of Oceanside Jewish Center. They should consider merging into a single entity which could offer more services. They could use the money from the sale of their buildings to offer drastically lower dues. Personally, I think the site would be great for a senior citizen housing complex.

This died a death. Don’t go in with an inexperienced developer, who has such disdain for the community that he seeks to develops for.

While you’re still thinking about old news I just received approval for two other assisted living facilities on Long Island 😉
P.s. if you have children I hope you don’t tell them not to chance their dreams because their “inexperienced”.

@@CharlesWeinraub well, I try my best not for my kids not to be narcissists. By the way, having your buddy pretend they were an Oceanside resident and threaten Section 8 housing at that meeting was just desperate. Glad you’re doing OK, just glad it was not in Oceanside.
