I really like the bail. Nice touch. This Is the first braded tree of life I have seen and it looks really good. Thanks for sharing your creative ideas and talent. Be happy, safe and stay healthy 😷⚒
Thank you so very much for showing us how you polish your pendants. I really appreciate it. I've been thinking about getting a tumbler and you just helped me make up my mind. Thank you so very much. 💜💜💜
Thanks Oxana - it was really interesting watching this polishing technique. I also loved the sounds of the birds & animals while you were outside - very soothing 🦋🌺🌿🐨
Lol. You're so silly! I love that you're so real. No scripting, no frills. I oxidize when I'm inside, it doesn't smells any worse than egg salad. Just my opinion. Thank you for sharing your process with us. ~ Always Weaving Brandon #WearableArt #TheWeave #ThreeSixNineWireDesign
Thanks, Oxana! I've been following you from another account for several years now and love all your videos. Recently I've been thinking about playing around with oxidizing my jewelry but, honestly, was dreading the polishing process (not my fav part of jewelry making😆). LOL! After seeing this demo, I think I will proceed to play. This is so much easier than hand sanding or burnishing every single piece. Thanks again for sharing your wealth of knowledge. 🙂
Good day Oxana! Latone from Mukilteo is less than a little over a mile from me. Thought I just mentioned that because I think it's cool that you have a Latone. I have an opportunity to sell my wares in the town that I'm from in California at an outdoor play or play called the Ramona bow.l Ramona & Alexander Are the 2 people that the story is about, it's a love story and it's done in a small valley and the audience are on seats on one side of The Valley and onthe other side of the Valley is where the play takes place. It's a beautiful place doll done in like the Hacienda Style. The Hacienda Built-in that's a facade /Stage and that side of the whole valley is the play. Anyway it's a beautiful play and I just want to share that with you because we're going to our 50th reunion here in October. The gal that we went to school with is the president of the Ramona bowl and she had seen my wares and she says I need you to sell that in the museum/ gift shop at the Ramona bowl. I am so excited!. I just wanted to share with you all that as well. I do have a question, have you ever or put your stones in with your wire wrapped around it and did it usually get messed up I guess I shouldn't chance it but I just was thinking it sure would work out nice if the Tumbler was was at a perhaps slower speed maybe? I don't know. anyway.. I'm getting one from Amazon it was only $65 so hopefully it will do well!
That's cool that Lortone is so close to you! I really enjoy using their tumbler. I would be careful with stones, I have had some withstand it and some get more of a matte finish as if they became less polished somehow. Congratulation on getting to selling your jewelry at that event, how special! Best of luck!
Hi. Congrats on the wonderful op to sell your jewelry at such a large venue. I know you must feel elated!😊 Reading your comment about the Ramona Bowl reminded me of the Cherokee, NC Amphitheater. (I'll link it below or you can Google it if interested. I understand it pays to be leary of unknown links). The seating is on a mountainside and the stage is the Earth below where they've been doing a production of "Unto these Hills" for 72 years (opened in 1950) and it tells the historical journey of The Cherokee Indians. The amphitheater isn't as big as the Ramona (I Googled Ramona) but it's really cool just the same. Although probably more comfortable now, I liked it better when the seating was made from terraced stones (pic shown in website) because it gave it a more natural setting than the colorfully awful stadium seats of today... but progress, or what some define as progress, happens. Anyway, best wishes with your jewelry sales and thanks for sharing a comment that reminded me of one of my fondest memories. Enjoy your day! 🙂 visitcherokeenc.com/blog/entry/unto-these-hills-66-years-counting/
I love your story as well... I will definitely look it up early morning as I am headed for bed now. Thanks for your kind words. I am sure I will have more to say after looking up what you have shared. We leave for California Monday, it will be an exciting trip. As it will include our 50th 51th school reunion.
Thank you for this video. I’m new to wire wrapping and wondered how people made their copper wire look so cool. Can you do the same process with silver colored wire?
I think I'm going to have to get one of those tumblers. Polishing jewelry completely by hand is not fun. Have you ever had the wire frames get mangled inside the machine?
Dont know if you guys gives a shit but if you're stoned like me atm then you can watch pretty much all of the new series on instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my brother during the lockdown xD
What can you use to polish Crystals and Gemstones after using all 4 steps of tumbling and mild soap. To get your stones that nice polished look. Some of my stones don't get that nice shine that I want them to have.
I put my polished stones in on polystones in the Tumblr and they come out beautiful, I haven't had anything break yet but I don't put chains or small parts in there, those I will just do by hand.
Love this demonstration, thank you! I need a tumbler now! One question though: Does the steel shot help remove nicks and plier marks? I hammer a lot of wire frames (& components) and then sand by hand before adding the weave and/or stones. I'm sure there's a faster way but don't have all the bits for my rotary tool... Sometimes my pliers mar the wire which is so frustrating. Hoping to speed workflow if I can skip some steps.
I had no idea you even had to do this. Why? If i ordered fancy cabochon trays online with glass tops where stones are going into resin in the trays (or flowers with resin over them), do I have to do this to them? What about chains from the craft store like Michael’s?
This is only to clean copper that has been oxidized, you can clean and polish it by hand, but the tumbling saves some time so that is why I do it. I am not tumbling any stones, only the metal.
@@OxanaCrafts I guess I don’t understand. So all copper wire has to be put in the solution? But the tumbling is just in place of hand polishing? What is you don’t put it in the solution? Will it discolor sling or turn color? What about other metals and the coalition? I read the best place for the value and amount on a roll is Home Depot. My first project (because my hobby is stones and gems) is to partially filled a closed cabochon from the craft store with resin and after a few hours add crushed peridot. I bought cording with clasps. Don’t know if I’m going to resin over the peridot - I guess I have to so they don’t fall out. I’m a messy clutz. Please help me! Aaaarrrgghhhh!!!! Thank you! I’m still watching your videos because you make everything seem so simple but I’m just a beginner. Your designs are lovely!
The oxidizing copper is done only for looks, you do not need to do it. And it is only for raw copper, not colored or coated copper like from the crafts store. So if you are just starting out I would just skip the whole oxidizing and polishing step as it will just make things more complicated and is not necessary

@@OxanaCrafts I just leave my stones inside but none of my steel shot has a sharp edge. No soft stones, like opal

Great information thank you they came out nice
Thank you! That’s the same tumbler I have. It’s great!
Thanks for sharing this method of oxidizing & polishing!
Thank you so much for your clip!! now I can use my Tumbler for other purposes.

Yes you can, as long as it is solid sterling silver and not coated or plated
I have learnt so much from the video thank you, I wonder if tumbling helps hardening the wires?
Yes tumbling will slightly harden the wires
If my copper isnt taking liver of sulpher should i put in tumbler to remove coating?
Gracias 😀

very handy my dear! thank you! :o)

Yes it is

Could you oxidize before wrapping. I have a really hard time with the glare of the copper.
yes you can, but then some of the tarnish will rub off on your hands as you work with the wire

Only very minor ones, I do use sandpaper as well when needed.

Hello
Bravissima, grazie per i tutorial.
Posso lucidare pure l acciaio morbido? Ma posso inserire pure le pietre, non si rovinano?😉
Why do chemistry. ...?
Black Indian salt to help. Natural product. I use this salt to oxidize my jewelry. The effect is phenomenal.
@handworkdesign_
This salt also contains sulfur so that must be why it oxidizes copper
