I've been serving Nagaland National Movement since 2006 and being an active member,my suggestion to the Naga people's is to unite and declare the non-cooperation until and unless all the parties/factions come together under one umbrella. We cannot blame anybody/ anyone blindly. It is the responsibility of our Naga people's(civil societies)that paying multiple taxes. If the people of Nagaland really cares about it, then stand strong and show your support by bringing all the parties under one roof. It just my opinion/suggestion, God bless my Nagaland.

We got independence from British faster than India so we celebrate 14 August as our history and don't need recognition from British. Than we celebrate 15 August were the rest of India got independence. So in short we celebrate the leaving of British earlier than we celebrate with the rest of India.

In 1947, Nagas declared Naga independence on 14 August as Naga independence before British left Naga hills and India get her independence. Nagas were under British at that period of time... Nagas send this declaration of independence to UN but UN didn't recognise this declaration as Naga hills were under British India. Now when British left India, the areas that were under British control got transferred to India. So India declared that Naga area was also part of India and didn't recognise Naga independence....this conflicts still carry to the present times. Nagas are celebrating 14 August as independence day as per 14 August 1947 declaration by the Naga National Council. Nagas are asking for independence because Naga areas are occupied, forcibly annexed by India against the wishes of the Nagas. So if Nagas want to get Independence, Nagas have to fight for a War of Naga Independence to become an independent Nation. But corruption, money, disunity has blinded Naga Leaders.

Our history was of and has been a self-sufficient economy, Naga economy is agro based economy, if these areas are given prior focus. The economy will just boom in over a few years besides that the FDI and process of industrialization will definitely follow up, northeast particularly Nagaland has been a gateway to Southeast Asia . The economy will definitely shoot up though at initial stages, there would be a setbacks but with proper strategic planning and implementation, the Naga economy will overcome. India at the time of independence has face the same setbacks but it still overcome with implementation of 5 years plans. Though to become a nuclear power nation will still be a distant dream, yet in terms of prosperity and economy. Nagas can sustain in a long run...
