Thank you! I brought your recommended screwdriver set. When the hinges damaged my laptop, I took it took a repair shop. They switched one (or two) of the screws to something else, which I couldn't unscrew (I think they also switched the hinge). With your set, I managed to unscrew all but one. I couldn't be bothered going through all the options (not sure it would have helped even if I did), so I just busted it open (as I also brought a replacement bottom and palm rest from eBay). Wish I searched RUclips earlier and found your video. Repair shops are expensive and the repairs they do aren't as good as buying replacement parts (they'll just use glue and whatnot). Side note: For anybody having FPS issues gaming (Example: Ring of Elsium on Steam), buy a new screen and change your existing one.
Nice job mate, well explained and very detailed, I'm repairing the exact same model with the exact same problem. Just one thing I would recommend is to always disconnect the battery and do a 20 secs power drain before touching anything else, I'm sure you know it but maybe forgot this time 😉 keep up the good work mate!

Glad you found it helpful - I always aim to do things properly with my repairs, although sometimes people just want things patched up cheaply.
