4:00 factoid from the release livestream: Josh told this story and it was about The Killing Kind. He said he sent the demo (which at the time was more upbeat/dance-y) and when he got the “5/10” note back Josh was like “I wasn’t mad about it or anything, I was like hmm I agree it’s not working but why? When I just sit down at the piano and play it, it works? ... Ahhh, I’ve fucked up. I’ve written a ballad!!! Well, a ballad it shall be then!” I laughed so hard during that story. 😂🤘🏻

The themed albums is one of the main reasons that I absolutely love you guys, listening to them in full brings some nostalgia for the times when people would listen to a whole album, on vinyl or in a concert, because there was no pause button. I grew up listening to loads of music (one of my parents is a music teacher), but when I discovered Marianas Trench just over a year ago, I felt that is the band that encapsulates all that I love to hear, different genres merged together, huge powerful sounds offset by playful melodies, the guitar solos... I could go on haha! I love your music, please never stop, and come to London some time soon!

the album is incredible all around-incredible lyrics, incredible instrumentals, and incredible vocals! it’s been on loop since it’s release, you guys have really outdone yourselves this time! each song is so endearing and such a blast to listen to. i’m so freaking excited to hear the new songs played live, and i’m counting down the days till i can see y’all play in Vancouver again! so much love and support for you guys. no matter how many shows i’ve been to, hearing you guys live never ever gets old 💛

I have big hopes for this record cycle. I know it has already been wild getting to this point and producing the album, and now it’s another few years of touring and promoting it and press etc. etc. etc. but I do think this is your best album and there’s more wildness to come. I’ve been listening to Phantoms (the whole thing, in order) on repeat since it came out. Words are memorized and I’m ready to celebrate with you on tour! I admit I’m generally a playlist/shuffle person but I specifically love MT’s albums because I can just pop one on and listen in order like I did when I was a kid. Phantoms is incredible and I hope it opens new opportunities for you. Thank you for all your hard work! See you in Vancouver for the show! ✨

Phantoms is such a solid album that segues from one track to the next - I can’t stop listening to the whole thing on repeat. This has to be my favourite themed album to date. Love from Singapore!

My favorite band for the last 10 years
I’ve pretty much listened to the album on repeat since Sunday while in my car. I love the sound of it, I love the themes of each albums wrapping up and bringing it all together. It’s a story I love to listen to
I LOOOOOOVE the eerie, haunted aspect of the music on this album (my 11-year-old daughter does too)! We can't wait to see you on the 19th in Sudbury!
Been a huge fan ever since I listened to you guys back in 2012ish, and I have fallen so hard in love! I first listened to 'Haven't Had Enough' and I was gone within the first few seconds. Your themed albums have got me obsessed, and I absolutely love how unique everyone in the band is! It's one reason I never get tired of any of your interviews or BTS videos.

I definitely love the combo of songs where Josh belts it out, mixed with the softer voiced songs. They compliment each other so well in this album!

my favourite moment is managing to quote Donovan's Brain by Curt Siodmak and It by Stephen King with one epically placed quote in Echoes of You - it is paying hommage by using a phrase that was used to pay hommage and I darn near broke my brain trying to determine if Josh KNEW what he was doing it when he did it
I get so excited with each new release, I think that the fact that you guys put in all the work and effort to make it sound exactly how you want it to sound is so evident!!! It is the reason I have been a fan for so long. My sister found you guys when they were playing All to Myself on the radio and she was like, “hey there’s this band, you are gonna love them!!!” She was right, I’ve been a fan ever since!!! Keep up the great work guys, you never ever disappoint! ♥️

You are such a unique band, no one tells stories as well as you do. I love all of their albums, but this one stole my heart the first time I heard it. There's just something about it that I can't describe that just draws me in every time I listen to it. I've been a fan for years, and MTrench never stops surprising me. I absolutely cannot wait hear the songs live and dance around in Hamilton!
This band will always be my favorite. Because of many reasons. But for this time around I find it kinda funny, how Astoria came out shortly when I started working at the Restaurant I'm still right now and Phantoms now released a Month before I will quit there (Also please come to Europe I had tickets for the last tour and then I couldn't go and I'm still damn sad about it)

Love the entire album and it’s cohesive, confident direction. Wish You Were Here stood out to me on first listen and the surprise transition from I Knew You When into The Death of Me made me freak out cause it sounded so so good. Then you chuck in Astoria samples and I’m wishing you guys would come back to NZ with this album!!

god i am so proud of this band, watching them grow from fix me to phantoms has been such an amazing experience not to mention their sounds seem to grow with me, each album is a whole new story that is somehow still relevant to my life at the time and it amazes how their music just touches my heart right where it needs to me and damn im just so proud

Love the new album! During some moments while listening I almost got throwback vibes to Shaketramp and such, which was neat, but everything still sounded really fresh and new. I'm all about the theme this time around; love spooky stuff. So excited to see you guys play in Vancouver!

Just listening to a) the album which is yet another step up for them musically, and b) them talk exactly like this about wanting to make experiences through music and putting in the effort so that the music is what it needs to be, is just so exciting and inspiring. My first favourite is Wish You Were Here because it makes me want to get up and dance no matter what mood I'm in - but like all mtrench albums I'm sure I'm going to cycle through every song as a favourite throughout the year at some point.

Honestly I'm kinda old school and I like the aggressiveness in your older stuff. I like echoes of you and the killing kind, but I don't really care for the other songs. Best of luck guys! Btw I saw you guys at playland in August and it was better than when I saw P!ATD at Rogers Arena.
