We all need a story like this, once in a while.

Yes, if only to remind us of what bad writing looks like.

Agreed. It's a good thing that Amanda and Miranda are reunited with their father, but due to all the trauma their mother put them through, not only will they need lifelong therapy, they'll also need to be careful with whom they let get close, whom they trust, and whom they allow in their lives, because some people, even, SOs can be just like, or worse than their mother Adelia; if the Amanda and Miranda end up dating/marrying guys who cheat on/abuse them, have kids with those types of guys, and those parasites take their kids away from their mothers, the girls will need their father and Helen to help them get their kids back.⚠️

EXACTLY why I tell my sons to NOT marry PERIOD. My EX alienated my children to me and I have suffered to this day. I am married now for over 20 years but I will never trust 100% , I have a few things in a lock box to protect myself no matter what.

Well, assuming the story to be true, we also know that there are some really stupid and cruel parents out there. Anyone named Steve Stevens needs to disown his parents. My wife knew a guy named Richard/Dick Trickle and how can Harry Butts EVER forgive his parents???

We have established that Helen Beard is carrying a torch for the protagonist. Then the daughter comes into town to see her father which is followed by the sentence claiming that Helen Beard has a deep animosity towards her father.
If anybody can make sense of this, I’m all ears.

There is a good story in this, but it was too choppy, to the point of being staccato, like an outline. Needs a rewrite, fleshing it out., To start, needs the details that led to the breakup and the wife fleeing, and the subsequent abandonment of the husband's ostracizing by his friends and family. The detail that makes no sense is the cheating wife getting school records forwarded, the FBI and police would have jumped on that from the get-go And were I one of the children, regardless of what my mother said, I would still have called my dad to find out what how he was doing.

    • @bullwinklemoose8291

Totally 100% agree. I read alot of comments that say the story is poorly written and I don't necessarily agree since I can easily fill in the blanks, but in this case, this was without a doubt the worst written story I have read on Crazy Pepper. It's disappointing because the story deserved a better presentation.

Is this a made up story? Cause if she left the state, stated by her lawyer, illegally with the kids, shouldn't the FBI have investigated the kidnapping and the bank would have to tell the FBI where she went

    • @animeboy462
      @animeboy462 Месяц назад +2

@@dverarde84@dverarde84 actually i did, the FBI did eventually get involved but they should have the moment the judge was notified she left the state with the kids without his permission, and incase you are referring to the lawsuit he filed and lost appeal that only applies to him not the FBI.
If this was real i want to know why the judge didnt notify the FBI that kids were abducted by the mother as soon as it happened then the FBI would get her loctaion from the bank have her arrested and kids brought back to the dad.
Only reason im asking if this was a made up story is because it has a aita tag

Couldn't the husband have gotten a divorce much sooner by citing abandonment? The marriage was in Missouri, where it takes only six months of desertion to file for divorce via abandonment. So while I liked the story, a lot of its drama and tension arises from overlooking something any competent family lawyer would have pursued.

@georgejenkins3371 That's possible. But the point is emotions are complex, and men have different relationships with their morhers than their fathers.
Also, the story implies that Dad said things to him that Mom didn't. Shrugs. Dad had not yet made that first step.

How old were the daughters when the were kidnapped? The older daughter is working and pursuing a masters degree only five years after their disappearance and she never sought out her father or any friends and/or family? Also, why would the Patterson guy need to get a divorce if he was never legally married? HUGE plot holes, lol.

IF this all started when the girls were 12 and 14, with a 5 year time laps, the youngest would be 17 and be in either 11th, or 12th, grade (story claims she is in 11th.) BUT the older sister would be 19, and she is working on her MASTERS??? Highly unlikely...
