  • Andrew Lindell served two tours in Afghanistan, 2009-10 and 2012-13. He shares memories of, and thoughts about, his service. He sustained a concussion and several other soldiers were wounded, one seriously, while soldiers with the 3rd Platoon of the 509th Infantry out of Fort Richardson (Anchorage) searched for Army deserter Bowe Bergdahl. Among other topics, Lindell discusses the way Battle Damage Assessments became counter-productive and deadly to U.S forces in Paktika Province.
