    Honestly this gave me chills From head to toe From start to finish. I thought eidolon was creepy, But this one is by far, without a doubt the most Scary video i ever watched on RUclips. And best haunted darkride on planet coaster ever .
    I Will give this a five 💀💀💀💀💀 rating.
    Fantastic work pixelated, cant wait for your next ride.

    Watched this with a friend over WhatsApp as we're all isolated. Agreed to turn the lights off and go full screen on our respective devices. Both texted each other immediately after the Jack-in-a-Box saying "That shit me up!" hahaha. Fantastic. The way it builds psychological terror throughout is astounding considering you're bound by the mechanics of a game. To echo the comments below, I thought Eidolon was scary, but this goes beyond! When you've got me wincing because you're forcing me into new rooms backwards, you know it's good haha.

    Now this is only coming from someone who just recently jumped back into the game after a 1 year hiatus with very little progress. Also coming from someone who has spent multiple hours just working on outside textures of my own volcano.... However, since coming back I have found your creations through Channel5 and I feel so inspired by what can be possible. I will never be able to create even 1% of the magic that you do, but you make me inspired to jump back in and just create something that I enjoy. He did it again, mom. He did the thing! #Spookowed! (It's spooked and it's wowed me). The only gripe I could find is there's a few jumpscare moments that were lacking, like they missed the actual jumpscare moment, but had the potential. That being said, the sound engineering and the Pixelated-ness stuff of this along with the foreshadowing storytelling is superb, and next level for you! Congrats!

It was Unsettling and amazing at the same time. I think the elevator affect was done by moving the block in front of the Grill to create the effect of motion.

    Been a huge fan of yours for a few years now (since Dread), do you have a background in audio/visual stuff? I'm always getting sidetracked by other games on pc/console but this is the kind of stuff I want to create. Your use (and lack thereof sometimes) of sound along with the visuals really rivals a lot of horror movies. I want to make stuff like this because I'm generally so disappointed by horror movies; this also could be because I don't scare so easily anymore from watching so much of this stuff. I'd love to see your take on a zombie outbreak or a haunting in a forest (maybe in the car ride?).

  • @Legendendear
    @Legendendear 4 года назад +2

    I have to agree with the others, that ride was quite good. The effects were amazing and you left me at some points baffled how you did it. For example that ship out of the picture frame sequence, or the fast switch from black/white video back to the normal mansion.
    BUT there are 2 Things which did annoyed me:
    1: I was watching your ride on PC and the visuals were often blurry, one can say pixelated ;)
    So I had to switch to my phone and it was then not noticeable. You might want to watch your Video on one big screen, so you can see what I mean.
    2: I missed the story aspect of your ride, because they are always the part of your creation, what sucks me in and makes it so immersive. And because of that little aspect I sadly have to say, that your other 3 creations (Eidolon, Dream Sequencer, Dread: a Horror coaster) were in my Opinion better. And thats a shame, because the special effects you used in your creation were REALLY exceptional...

    • @PixelatedPlanco
      @PixelatedPlanco  4 года назад

      Thank you!
      And I hear what you're saying :)
      1. I have no idea what youtube did to my video. Watching the same video on my pc it is crisp. When uploading RUclips really destroyed the quality :(
      2. You are absolutely right to notice that the story is less present in this one. I'm not using it as an excuse, but the ride was initially being made to showcase a bunch of tmtk items. It just evolved into where I had to create more and more items to make it all fit and make it work. So the story that I tried to convey was probably a bit blurry (one can say, pixelated, ha!) because the more items I added, the more it became a bit of a mess, but (and I'll use your words for it) the effects were exceptional so I didn't want to scrap any of them. In the end I just went for a more spectacular ride than a thought provoking ride I guess.
      And if you ask me there's nothing wrong with a popcorn munching special effect experience, but I can understand why you prefer my other rides!
      But if it helps: next ride I have in mind (concept is pretty much ready, story needs to be written down yet) will probably be more up your alley ;)
      Thank you for commenting though, I appreciate well constructed critisism :)

      @Legendendear 4 года назад +2

      1. Now thats a shame! But I dont know what can be done to prevent such a quality loss :(
      2. I guess I watched your ride with the wrong expectation... I expected a ride like the other 3 mentioned above 😅
      It wasnt clear that the ride was meant as a way to show your mad skills off ;) And if that was your intention (which it was from what I can tell) you clearly succeeded ^^

    Here's what I think the story is:
    People have been going missing in a Grand Mansion somewhere near the Appalachian Mountains. You have been sent to investigate.
    As you enter the mansion, A large box shakes, as something inside is viciously trying to get out. 0:30 But, what's more important is the investigation. you need to go inside.
    When you enter, the stairs open up! 0:48 a clue! you go inside the equipped elevator and arrive on the second floor.
    The first thing you see on the second floor is what seems to be a door somehow open. 1:16. What's in there? You try to see, but before you get a chance to check, it slams shut and the power goes out. 1:19
    As you creep through the dark, a single light from the lightning outside reveals a spirit! 1:25 You just try to forget what happened and continue to go through the darkness. A picture rotates in front of you at one point, though. 1:33
    Finally, the lights are back on. 1:45 You head into the old piano room, which has been emptied probably for investigation purposes. but the lights go out again, 1:57 and a piano plays itself before showing the fate of the mansion's old pianist: died from skull injury upon chair-fall. 2:17
    Frightened, you head out just when the lights turn back on. 2:27 but it seems the spirit from earlier has been following you, 2:39 and decides to actually try to kill you.
    In a fit of pure malice, it breaks floors, 2:58 makes tables and chairs float, breaks the tables, knocks over the books, and even tells you that you can't hide from it. 3;06. But you can run. the walls give you an opening, and you break out of the dining room and into the kids' room, which apparently has its lights out.
    The toys have been posessed, however, a few threatening to kill. 3:30 after all of this, you know what's happened. the people died, became spirits, and swore to guard the place at all costs.
    You decide to escape, but as soon as you do, though a picture of a door, 3:59 the evil spirit that has been following you tries to kill you for one last time. 4:14
    The lights go back on just in time, and you enter the grand library, where the spirit of the main master finds you. 4:39 Enraged you are here, it sends a minion to conquer you. 4:47 You barely make it to the little reading room, where a bookcase is revealed to be the entrance of the restricted Beam-holding Hole. 4:55 The spirit somehow makes it through just as the bookcase is closing, and it tries to kill you, but ends up being crushed by a falling light. 5:07
    you somehow find your way out of this broken wood hall through a large renaissance painting that slides back into the mansion. 5:31 But then you've found the Teleporter TV: a powerful item that could transport someone to a random spot in the mansion. 5:46 you head through the twisted teleporter corridor, without even getting sick. 6:04.
    The teleporter appears to have taken you to the grand restroom. 6:37 Too far from the exit for your taste. But even the restroom has its perils. The lights go out, and a Siren starts trying to lure you. 6:44. you don't trust that thing, though, so you stay put. The Siren, however, knows that. enraged that you aren't getting lured, it lets out a shriek of pure anger, somehow breaking the pipes and causing a massive flood. 6:54 you somehow escape this belligerent bathroom unscathed.
    You decide to check the cellar for an exit route. 7:20 but as all you horror fans know, the cellar is the last place you want to be, especially in an already-haunted mansion. a figure attempts to kill you, but gets scared of complete darkness. 7:35. While you can, you decide to go away from the cellar, and into the abandoned grand theatre.
    Using the projector footage, you discover that there was a grim reaper, he was the one behind all of this spooky nonsense. 8:07. The Grim Reaper then teleports you to its world, and it seems it's all over. 8:24 But you retract back into the mansion just in time. 8:44
    You discover you're right next to the elevator near the entry chamber. 9:02 you use this opportunity to exit the mansion. but perils are beyond the horizon, however, as whatever was in the big box from earlier, somehow broke out while you were inside. 9:48 As you creep though the woods. you discover that the thing that was inside was a werewolf, of all spooky monsters. 10:09
    You try to find your way back, but the werewolf is not as hesitant as the mansion's other residents. It goes right to devouring you in cold blood. 10:30 THE END.

      I won't pretend like there is such a clear cut story like you are presenting, because honestly the story got a bit lost to me while building.
      But I definitely appreciate the effort :D Let's go with that ;)

    Any relation between the screeching siren here and Eidolon's Lord Crimson?
    I only ask because they have some very similar design elements.
    (By the way, I spotted his cameo in the library.)

    Okay did you mod the game? This is a legit question °_° I think I know how you made some of the effects, but seriously I have no idea how you did this entirely in Planet Coaster

    • @PixelatedPlanco
      @PixelatedPlanco  4 года назад +5

      I've used Planet Coaster's Thememaker's Toolkit. With this you can indeed mod the game with 3d models made in (for example) Blender. I've created about 75 items for this ride and I will be making an overview video with all these :)
