Very underrated...they practiced singing back then and it showed...I really don't like to bash the young lady singers of today. But the industry just wants another pretty face out there and they rush to get their music out to the public...particularly the R&B Girls we have today but not just them, but most of the music today...but after about 2010 the R&B music is just going through the motions. But jmo

And everytime I hear them sing those words : 🎶 Onnnnnne less bell to annnnnswer. 🎶 towards the end of the song with a haunting , mello flow , i think of her and now i have one less bell to answer . From her calling me on the phone to her being at my door. She was a wonderful woman that was always there for me.

I remember this song. I was 8 years old and listened to this on a 45 LP. I played it over and over.. I didn't understand the lyrics then, but I could feel the emotions coming from the performance. It still has the same effect not as it did then.
