Quand nos Aïeux brisèrent leurs entraves, connu également sous le titre de "Chant National", fut l'hymne national d'Haïti de 1893 à 1904.
Le texte fut écrit par l'écrivain et poète haïtien Oswald Durand.
La mélodie et l'utilisation du texte comme hymne national, furent joués par les autorités haïtiennes à l'occasion de la réception officielle et protocolaire d'un navire allemand, lors de son escale à Port-au-Prince en 1893.
En 1904, lors de la commémoration du centenaire de la Révolution haïtienne, La Dessalinienne devint officiellement l'hymne national.

Quand nos Aïeux brisèrent leurs entraves, also known as "Chant National", was the national anthem of Haiti from 1893 to 1904.
The text was written by writer and Haitian poet Oswald Durand.
The melody and the use of text as the national anthem were played by the Haitian authorities on the occasion of the official reception and ceremonial of a German ship, during his stopover in Port-au-Prince in 1893.
In 1904, during the commemoration of the centenary of the Haitian Revolution, La Dessalinienne officially became the national anthem.
