note*: The government only adopted the 1st verse of the song "Tiến Quân Ca" to be the national anthem of Vietnam from 1945
Thời gian hoà bình của còn ít hơn chiến tranh, hỡi các bạn chưa có lịch sử của một dân tộc nào mà có thể vượt qua gian nan vất vả như thế này, có nể phải phục không chịu cũng nể. Ta đã hành quân và dành lại hoà bình và độc lập cho dân tộc từ lần này đến lần khác, đó là lý do tại sao không một ai có thể sánh với sử Việt và số lượng sử sách chiến tranh nhiều như Việt Nam. Nhưng về quốc tế chúng ta vẫn còn là nước nhỏ, lịch sử ta chưa được nhiều người biết đến, nếu đất nước ta phát triển đủ mạnh và kèm theo lịch sử sách ta thì không chừng dân ta sẽ là số 1?
Nhưng nói đi rồi phải nói lại, dù có gì đi nữa đừng quên sử sách mà ông cha ta đã từng trải qua, hãy tôn trọng lịch sử thắng hay thua phải luôn nhớ vì nó đều là bài học cả. Vấn đề chúng ta cùng nhau phát triển thêm một tầm cao mới nữa nhưng chắc phải mất cả chục năm hay trăm năm sau thì còn quá thấp đi để ta đi đến đỉnh cao vượt 5 Châu địa cầu, thế nên sử sách ngoài nhớ ơn thì ta nên tận dụng nó nhờ đó ta sẽ đổi mới, sẽ không phải chịu cảnh lầm than.

actually, the anthem of Colony of Cochinchina is not right, it's not the La Marseillaise, it's a different song by Vietnamese
@DPL23 vietnam was a french colony from 1858 to 1944. In 1944, japan kicked france out. In 1945, WW2 ended, french went back to vietnam and had a 9-year-war with the north (Tokin). Meanwhile, they took the Cochinchina (the south of Vietnam) and built a puppet government (Colony of Conchinchina) with a vietnamese anthem from 1946-1949 before the south made a revolution in 1949 leaded by Bao Dai (former emperor of Nguyen dynasty) and Ngo Dinh Diem

@@vietvu6651 Luu Huu Phuoc composed the song when he wasn't a communist. And the south government took the song because it was suitable to the situation of the country, regardless of the origin of composer. Don't you think such system making use of talents regardless of their origin creates a better long term development? Anyway, now the war is gone, and the people in Vietnam were still taught with hostility by the winner-made history. If reconciliation truely matters as the current government says, the history should be taught again in an open-minded way. Btw, Viet Nam Viet Nam by Pham Duy should be considered to be the anthem, have you tried listening to that? Peace.

And stop blaming on "winner-made history", the south government wouldn't have lost if they weren't a failed state, destroyed the rural area life completely and suppressed the buddhism. They will need to erase a whole history period from 1946 to 1954 if they can managed to win the war lmao

I really love the song State of Vietnam and the song Republic of South Vietnam in the South before 75, unlike the communist national anthem which is all about blood and the national flag of Vietnam before 75 is a yellow background with 3 red stripes.
