  • Concord Fire Department is tillin’ and thrillin’ on #TillerTuesday with their #Enforcer 107’ #AscendantTDA! 🐍
On each side of the crew cab, hook mounts and recessed can mounts allow their firefighter’s the ability to grab-and-go when they arrive on scene. The officer’s controls and radios were mounted to the ceiling to be kept out of the way, yet easily accessible. The driver and officer’s side have mirroring layouts to allow firefighters to operate out of either side of the #TractorDrawnAerial. This #TDA will be running a high amount of interstate responses and commercial calls in narrow areas of their city. Rope rescue, air equipment and tools, saws and electrical equipment will all be designated to specific compartments. Due to the magnitude of hotels and apartments in #ConcordNC, they are equipped with a total of 273 feet of ground ladders. To mitigate the tillerman’s blind spots, mirrors, lights and cameras were mounted to maximize operational visibility. This will be the first tiller to join their fleet.

Beautiful rig. It looks well thought out and one for the best laid out trucks I have seen. Great work.

I live near Concord, this is an awesome rig. I'm glad to see them getting good gear because Concord is growing so damn fast the FD has to keep expanding to keep up. Also, I like their red and black paint scheme.

Since Pierce and other fire truck companies can probably build anything you want I wonder if they could do a heavy rescue with boat for certain areas like the Gulf Coast when there's heavy flooding and the like

I knew a guy that actually rode on the last horse-drawn engine in Birmingham Alabama, I think that it was Engine 17 in Wylam.

@Pierce in towns with larger railroad yards, you should equip the new vehicles with a railroad radio in case of an emergency so they have communication with the rail yard master

They can build a truck with anything you want in it.... I'm quite sure if they want to put that in there they could.

Very very nice wonderful Tiller, Ladder ONLY big Rig. Can I ask anyone what did that Department have for the operation BEFORE this wonderful 👍 new Rig. Just asking. I like how new Ladders are keeping a clear line of sight for Tillman looking down forward on side where his or her steer wheel is centered. Plus the great add on of Camera systems. The great idea of putting on/off switch next to tiller turn signals for side low scene lights
Sounds like the powers in Ladder design for this rig, got input from the people steering the tiller. Can I ask anyone about the ROTO RAY on front nose. Out in Northwest of US I don't SEE these on rigs out here. Is that a east coast Fire tradition
I just saw a preview of a heavy Rescue 🛟 that had TWO yes 2 on nose of the rig. I find it a very interesting type of emergency lights. I also lovered the old school MARS lights that rotating back and forth in a beacon housing. Very nice looking Ladder Rig.😊❤

It's a northeast thing and mostly vollies, they love blinky lights.

Concord mostly uses rear mount aerials whether they have a bucket or not. Mostly tandem axle RMA so this was an update for them.

@@RealJeep They're popular down here in NC as well. I live outside Kannapolis (next city over from Concord) and at least two of KFD's engines have those same rotating lights on them. Also for some reason dual sirens are very popular, one that sounds like a Q and one fast yelper.

Anytime I see one of those silly lights on the front of the truck. I just have to say Yahoo. Those are just a fad and they'll fade away 1 day.

Bronx needs a tiller , middle of nowhere doesn't

    • @TidTidson

1st, if you weren't entirely retarded you would know FDNY has multiple tillers. 2nd, Concord NC is a metro of Charlotte NC and has 13 stations with the tallest building reaching 17 stories, not the middle of nowhere.

    • @Moose6340
      @Moose6340 Месяц назад

Concord isn't the middle of nowhere, it's a suburb of Charlotte and probably the fastest-growing suburb in a fast-growing area, population around 115,000. It's not the Bronx for sure, but it's a growing area and this is their first tiller.
