A topical APF anti-caries preparation for dental use 1.23 % fluoride ion from sodium fluoride. Optimized PH for a quick complete treatment. The improved thixotropic properties ensure closer adherence to enamel and interproximal areas. It contains xylitol-a proven anti-caries ingredient. The gel is offered in flavours for patient satisfaction and there’s no bitter taste.

I usually apply fluoride gel after doing scaling & polishing ,, because now there is no plaque so fluoride is better penetrate in enamel , and also to prevent sensitivity after scaling , whats is your opinion doctor

Does it really work?
Yes Doctor
There are 3 benefits especially for high risk and moderate risk children
1) The fluoride in the form of 1.23% APF has established prevention of caries and controls progression of caries very effectively
2) The XYLITOL added into it Has an added advantage of REMINERALIZATION of incipient carious lesions thus enhancing the REMINERALIZING POTENTIAL
3) Also Note that This Gel with Tray Application reaches Interproximal area (more susceptible to caries)which is difficult while using fluoride varnish.

Fluoride is toxic if ingested. The method you describe is outdated. If trays are used suction in the Fluor of mouth should be used and then after 2 minutes the patient should rinse out thoroughly.

Fluoride is Toxic
But over here and in dentistry we use minimal amount of fluoride in the range of 2-4ml
And as shown in the video due to Optimum Thixotropicity and ideal Viscosity the Excess Amount is always retained in the tray itself
Secondly the Tray method is not outdated but is the most commonly used method
Yes Suction is used while applying fluoride in any form professionally and in Tray method the suction is placed in between the trays
The Recommended application is for 4minutes and the PATIENT SHOULD NEVER RINSE for Atleast 30-90 minutes
