      If I may be so bold, throw some amanos in with the mollies. They breed in brackish and live in fresh. Double whammy, potential food source, and all babies should be able to go together into their fresh tank.
      Also, I have sailfin mollies in my local water in the southern USA. Silver guys with black flecks. I have not harvested them, just interesting.
      Also, I have crystal red tail platies. Gets to looking like 101 red tail dalmatians after a while. They really like my laceleaf water sprite, and the red root floater, until they're large enough to feel less threatened.
      I just got rams. They laid their first set of eggs in a log, even though there are flat rocks. They were summarily eaten. By them, maybe. I keep my water at 82. Not everything in that tank likes it hot. Hot water also speeds metabolism from what I hear, which may lead to a faster end of life for some fish.

    My current breeding project I’m putting together is with 10 10 gallon tanks and 2 20 longs. I plan to breed crayfish. They are not that difficult to breed you just have to separate them in stages because they are all so cannibalistic. Gonna be a ton of fun and a hell of a setup. I want to get rusty crayfish to become more common in our local hobby. Trying to make the more naturalistic variety’s more popular.

    Love this video! German Blue Rams are amazing fish to raise. They do surprisingly well when moved on to a colony set up -- we've had 50+ in a 55 gal, all very happy, spawning regularly once they are 4 months old. Feeding some brine shrimp can be one of the helpful "triggers" to dwarf cichlids to get them spawning. Also try a large water change leading up to a full moon (crazy, I know, but it often works).

    Hi Irene! Can't stop watching your videos! Such great content! I'm currently stuck with my 10-gallon as I don't have space for anything bigger. I also made the mistake of using artificial plants instead of live ones so i am currently in the midst of ammonia and nitrite spikes. Water changes practically everyday. But I am not giving up! And my plants are otw so hoepfully that helps!

    I've been keeping P. pulcher in my 55 gallon and moved them over into a 10g to breed last night.
    In the 55g they've never shown ANY interest in bothering the shrimp.
    So when I moved the honey gourami fry out of the 10g last night, I left some of the shrimp in that tank behind.
    This morning there were no shrimp.
    Just two very content kribs.

  • @-8_8-

    I am attempting breeding least killifish and pest snails (to feed my yoyos)in a 5 gallon, and have crystal red tail platies, and 2 pairs of rams, in a larger tank. They both have overflows. I am using poly to block the weirs. I am thinking of switching the poly to a tight sponge. Sorry Cory, not the wide open ones like you sell. But I do have those on my intake tubes for the big tank, and I've never had to clean them because of debris.
    The other thing is food. I like the Fluval food. They make some that's probably the waste that falls off the bigger pieces, judging by the size. Perfect for tiny mouths.

    • @GirlTalksFish
      @GirlTalksFish  4 года назад +1

      I've never kept killifish before, but they're also on my bucket list. There are whole fish clubs dedicated to them, so there must be something addicting about them. :)

    I recently stocked my tank with endlers live bearers. I thought the parents would eat the babies. They did not eat a single one. I also hoped that my white cloud mountain minnows would keep the population size in control. The mountain minnows don't pay any attention to the babies. I have just separated the females into a bigger tank, cause there would just be too many fish in the tank.

    • @GirlTalksFish
      @GirlTalksFish  4 года назад +1

      Congrats on your success! If it really gets out of control, you can feed less, re-home some adults, or get a fish who will eat some babies.
