    I have the black hub with the usb on the front and it works has a connection sound when plugged in with nothing on the hub ports

    So on that fake hubs, there are no controller chip ? Did you open the case and there was no controller chip, right ?

    Yes that was not working and the mother board using only for wire connections 😑

    Install a power supply to the Hub and it will perform very well: use an old cell charger- solder the two wires onto the circuit board.

      The normal USB port, will provide a 5V 500mA, it can managet up to 5 USB disk drive without problems, one of this have a 100mA power consumption. You can't see differences with a external power. The problem of fake USB HUB, is that not have a USB Controller, for signals switching. In the fake USB HUB, all signals will send at the same time, causing interference and problems with USB recognition.

    Its not fake its just having a lower power to handle several USB devices plugged in
