This year, I became top 1 of the dean's list. I published my first book. I ran my own business. But in the bed my mother recently I had an aneurysm in, I imagined myself wasting away. I felt like I had no reason to be happy. I almost lost my mother this year and our debts are high. I don't know how to cope and I feel alone every night when no one even checks on me because everyone assumes I'm okay. Thank you for this.

Seriously, I don't know how to love Pia more. I have loved and looked up to her so much since the MU2015 event, and even up to these days! The last time she visited Bangkok to be a guest speaker at a Miss Universe Thailand event, I saw her in real life, and she looked flawless! So stunning beautiful. I was trying to take a selfie of myself with her from afar, and she looked back at my phone camera too-one of the best days of my life! Even though I'm Thai, I'm so proud of Pia (and Catriona and the other contestants from PH) because these queens are so inspiring in their own ways. Pia continues to use her voice to help others just like she promised on the stage before she was crowned MU2015, especially for the causes near and dear to her heart. I started going to therapy in the states and I'm so thankful my therapist is a pinay (who can understand my problems and upbringing from a cultural perspective). it is mind blowing that there are only 800 in the Philippines, i am hoping there will be more. thank yu for sharing your experiences and advocating for mental health!
Great you are going to therapy. Takes courage. I’m not surprised either the small number of therapists In PI. Thou I believe it will grow. Going to therapy and discussing mental health issues may still be a cultural stigma in many parts of Asia, it’s so needed. I’m in graduate school pursuing to be a therapist with emphasis in mental health disorders and specializing in anxiety, depression and trauma. The first step is recognizing there is a problem and getting help. Important to realize that no one is perfect on earth. I wish you the best In your healing journey.

Pia you made me cry and think about myself. I've been struggling with my own mental health and issues for a long time now, true that all the things you have not settled in or found solutions when you are young will come back to you in adult life. I'm here alone in Toronto, I thought coming here will make my life better but things happens unexpectedly and I am not ready for it.
Pls give it time🙏🏼 and just see all things with purpose and beauty. It’s ok to be lonely but don’t make it your company see the joy in Gods creations, particularly His creation of you, don’t forget to give back and make others less lonely.
Hi Earl. Here in Toronto too and living by myself for many years now. It can be very challenging especially when loneliness or depression hits you.
There’s joy and peace when we not only look at our capabilities but the ability of the Lord Jesus to love us in a very personal way… turn to Jesus, he is waiting for you… i found my peace in Him.

The last time she visited Bangkok to be a guest speaker at a Miss Universe Thailand event, I saw her in real life, and she looked flawless! So stunning beautiful. I was trying to take a selfie of myself with her from afar, and she looked back at my phone camera too-one of the best days of my life!
Even though I'm Thai, I'm so proud of Pia (and Catriona and the other contestants from PH) because these queens are so inspiring in their own ways.
Pia continues to use her voice to help others just like she promised on the stage before she was crowned MU2015, especially for the causes near and dear to her heart. I'm glad that she is one of the Miss Universe winners.

I started going to therapy in the states and I'm so thankful my therapist is a pinay (who can understand my problems and upbringing from a cultural perspective). it is mind blowing that there are only 800 in the Philippines, i am hoping there will be more. thank yu for sharing your experiences and advocating for mental health!
Great you are going to therapy. Takes courage. I’m not surprised either the small number of therapists In PI. Thou I believe it will grow. Going to therapy and discussing mental health issues may still be a cultural stigma in many parts of Asia, it’s so needed. I’m in graduate school pursuing to be a therapist with emphasis in mental health disorders and specializing in anxiety, depression and trauma. The first step is recognizing there is a problem and getting help. Important to realize that no one is perfect on earth. I wish you the best In your healing journey.
