This was recorded Sunday night so I didn't have curriculum information and this is just a general video. I'll be releasing a video for each track for both the Computer Science Master's and Software Engineering Master's. Post in your own comment below (not a reply to this pinned comment) on which degree and which track you are interested in. Curious to hear your thoughts. If you don't have a bachelors already, feel free to go to my website and learn how to hack a bachelor degree in one year: www.majormash.com Also I have started a WGU Facebook Group for this degree. Check the description.
Something people need to consider about ai/ml is that the number of those jobs out there are limited. Even if you managed to find a posting on it it will usually be a startup or big tech that requires you to have extensive experience + master. You will still be at disadvantage unless you have a phd in ai. Btw you finish the training the ai craze might hard
Man, I can't wait until those breakdowns are posted lol. I'm completely torn on which degree to choose because I have a GRC background, but want to pivot towards ML/DE. I want to learn the fundamentals and build my math skills, so I'm leaning towards the MSCSAIML.
I am totally interested in the AI/ML track, as I understand they offer an accelerated Bachelors+Masters track hopefully I can transfer in a majority of classes. I am a HS dropout, how would you self study the math prerequisites as I am going to try and accelerate the entire program
I have a huge interest in Ecological Psychology and Dynamical Systems Theory, I’m likely pursuing Human Computer Interaction after completing my dual BACS / BSCIS degrees at TESU. Hopefully WGU has put a lot of thought into this program after all this time, still undecided on WGU vs Georgia Tech.
SWE student at WGU. Just got saw the SWE masters options, although the link for the accelerated bachelors/Masters was broken and goes to IT version instead. Also new AI certainly & individual courses available for a fee too.
Hey men, I’m wondering what about the pilot degree at tesu, since its online what about the flying pilot hours? License ect. Im watching your channel all the time great job, I’m trying to decide which degree to proceed. Im from Greece but i know pilot cost like 60-70k
Make a video about the SWE masters. I just completed my capstones for the BS SWE, and they launched the masters. It seems like they don't want me to leave 😅😅
I like some courses of SWE and others of CS. I am a career transitioner, what path could be better and easier for someone with no Experience and some foundational knowledge of programing?
Is the “Foundations of Computer Science” course available yet to take to be admitted into the MS Comp Sci? I couldn’t find it. I have a bachelors degree in non-STEM
I'm so split on which degree to do. I am currently an Associate Android Engineer, mainly self taught. I'm feeling like the CS degree theory would be beneficial for the math and things I haven't learned. I'm trying to decide which path will help me have the best job security and become the best engineer I can be.

Will the actual degree list the specialization track or just the MS in Computer Science?
I don’t think it will list it since these are listed as tracks and not concentrations. But you can make a website and put the courses you took on that website.
Yes but I’d recommend taking an Intro to Programming course and Data Structures and Algorithms course first. Can be from coursera, udacity, even udemy although quality there is questionable.
I have a bachelor degree in psychology and zero experience in computer science. Should I go straight into the masters program in computer science or do the accelerated option?
With only a psychology background, I’d highly recommend doing a course in Data Structures, Discrete Math, and Intro to Programming. Check out Udacity or Coursera.
@@alexsheppe Thanks for answering! This is perfect, I cannot believe this has finally happened. I cannot wait to see your guide on how to accelerate the program. Another question, I got a BS in IT and I work as an Integrations Engineer with Web Technologies. Do you think that this is a good background for this program or should look for some prep courses?
i'm an international student i left med school and thinking about a bachelor's in computer science does wgu accept international students for this program i saw it's in a separate category if not is there any other hackable university you'd recommend?
No they don’t take international students. I believe Arizona State University and Purdue Global are the only online universities accepting international students. Not sure how hackable they are.

It's out now, can't wait to see your new videos on it. Keep up the great work Alex. I think I would do the Masters if my employer paid for it.
@rlifts appreciate you brother!!
You have convinced me to go back to college thank you!! I love your content.
So awesome to see this live. Really curious to see how much traction it gains. Great video!
This would be cool for a Cybersecurity or IT student
Thank you Alex!

True. I have my eyes on Penn State’s online Doctorate in Engineering where you can pick your specialization.
I’m excited about the SWE masters
Me too
Finished my cybersecurity degree early in my term now I have to wait to do this AI masters :(

Hell yeah! Let’s get it!
Yes sir!

How soon can we expect these in depth track videos to come out for each one?
SO EXCITED!!!!!

WGU are def going to be tapping away alot of students away from GeorgiaTech, if the quality of this CompSci Masters has some meat to it
Agreed, the CS Masters degree curriculum is fantastic. They will take away like 30% of OMSCS future enrolls IMO.
Im wondering about the accelerated degree also wonder about the payment structure if I finish in 1 term. Do I pay the 4k or 8k for the masters as well
Make a video about the SWE masters. I just completed my capstones for the BS SWE, and they launched the masters. It seems like they don't want me to leave 😅😅
Never. You have to take it

I’m finishing the Cybersecurity BSCSIA in a couple months and currently working as a Systems Admin, should I do compsci master?
Hey, I’m interested in SWE, if I have an unrelated bachelors…would you recommend just going with masters in SWE since that’s the job I’m aiming for?
Yes but I’d recommend taking an Intro to Programming course and Data Structures and Algorithms course first. Can be from coursera, udacity, even udemy although quality there is questionable.
Can you make a discord as well as a Facebook group?
Do you know if the accelerated cs program is still ABET accredited?
Extremely likely…
What do you suggest for people who have the BSCSIA?
CompSci

do the accelerated. im so glad that it's an option now,
Can this also be accelerated?
Yes all bachelors and masters outside of Nursing and Teaching degrees can be accelerated.

@SantiagoSainz-x4k I think you’ll be fine as long as you brush up on Data Structures and Algorithms.

US students only
ASI is coming and then all jobs will be lost
And that’s where AI Software Engineers is the next big boom. Learning Machine Learning while you can.
Interesting point. But you'd still need humans to build out and proofread whatever code the AGI/ASI builds out.
