Here’s a question for you guys: Each one of you have to choose an animated protagonist and an animated antagonist (they can be from different projects, and don’t have to be shows)

For 1.), pretty much any TMNT cartoon after the original 80s show, though that one was incredibly loosely based on a pretty dark and violent comic. TMNT 2003 and TMNT 2012 are both great in their own rights, they have better story, characters and action and their tone is closer to that of the original comics, though I think the 2003 is a little darker in tone than the 2012 one, but I like most of the 2012 characters better.
Can’t really judge Rise of the Ninja Turtles yet, so far the action has been fantastic, but the characters and story are lacking.
7. Should be nothing for everyone, nothing good can come from this
Yeah i know its a bad thing. Most people talk about how awful it is that it happened, just wanted to see if there was ANYTHING positive about it :)

QUESTION: Do you have any shows that you loved as a child, but looking back on them as an adult, you realised they were actually kind of terrible?

Hmmm...the Fred movies from Nickelodeon. I guess it's easier to listen to a high pitched voice when you as a six year old also has a high pitched voice.
If CN still had Toonami now, then OG PPG could go on there. Toonami in the mid-2000's used to be the in-between of CN and AS. Toonami used to feel like it was for the kids who were feeling like they were growing out of CN but might not have been old enough for AS. PPG was already on Toonami for a bit back when it was on weekdays.

Bunny reminds me of Jack, a classmate of mine who wears glasses, can only communicate by shouting, has a drooling problem, permanently crossed eyes, and has to be walked by two teachers. He also does innocent swearing on a regular basis.

I have a question!
Is it better for a show to play it overall thematically and narratively safe with some single episode deep and dark themes thrown about (Like Avatar the Lat Airbender) or for it to take more narrative and thematic risks but make them the full focus of the story (Like Legend of Korra)?
I think both have their merits. I find ATLA a more strong and solid series (one of the best really!) But I find myself rewatching Korra more often due to the more risky and complex themes drawing the analytical part of my brain back.

Should the PPGs be shown to children today? Yes and no.
We live in an era where more and more people are resorting to violence as a means of solving their problems. More school shootings happen today than they did back then, and PPG doesn't portray violence like it's that much of a bad thing. *However* I don't think it'll be that bad if handled carefully.
I don't want to admit this, but there was a correlation of me being more violent as a kid and watching the PPG. But I *do not* blame that on the show. I was a messed up kid when I discovered the show, which is what caused me to use violence to solve issues. The show introduced the concept, but my lifestyle and personal issues is what made me decide to do things I regret. It's not the show's fault, it was just a contributor. the cause of the violence in the first place was a f*cked up childhood.
So, maybe it can be shown to younger kids, but they need to take care. They need to know the difference between right and wrong and know how to deal with their emotions in a healthy way.
Keep in mind, I'm *NOT* saying the PPG will cause violence in children. Goodness, no. Every wrong in their personal lives is what will cause the violence. The PPG will do nothing more than bring the concept to light. Whether a kid decides to do jacksh*t with the concept depends on the kid.
oh and the name says roberta puckett is because she's my mom and i'm using her account here on her laptop so yeah

1:04:53 I don’t think that the original powerpuff girls was too violent. Nowadays, video games show MUCH more violence in far more realistic detail than PPG ever did. There’s also very little evidence of any violent media that actually causes people to be violent in real life. The only thing I’d really think wouldn’t be okay for kids now is some of the more frightening imagery and concepts (like in Speed Demon or Abracadaver).
I do like the long hair on Bliss. Nothing else...
Here's a fact: They stole the name of my show, for their crappy reboot's special episode name. Does that mean I can sue them, LOL!
