Additional tip (for people interested in photography) would be to ask your resort if they allow the usage of a drone. Our resort (Varu by Atmosphere) did not because of privacy reasons.
Secondly, it’s also important to check the reefs around your property because snorkelling and scuba experiences get affected by it. We did have a good time but we got to know later that our property was made by destroying the reef hence the water was not that transparent nor the aquatic life was like it should be.

I have visited the Maldives 5 times and stayed in Baros, Gili Lankanfushi, Paradise Island, Meeru Island and One and Only Reethi Rah - all of them were 4/5 nights in Feb and March which is the peak season but it wasn't that busy though. You do get it cheaper if you visit off-season but be aware of torrential downpours and thunderstorms.
I agree that if you stay on one of the local islands, it will be much cheaper but you have to adhere to Islamic rules (no booze, no bikinis, no pork/bacon). I agree about going for All Inclusive although at least get Full Board if you can't afford All Inclusive. In terms of money, they accept US Dollars on all the resorts that I have been to but on local islands and the capital Male, it is always handy to carry Maldivian Rufiyas if you are going in market areas. Bear in mind, many of these resorts don't have ATMs but will accept credit cards.
Male Airport is not on the same island as Male city. The hotel that you have booked with will tell you which booth you need to go to once you have gone through customs if you are taking speedboat transfers where you will meet the representatives there. If you going by seaplane, you will be directed to there but there is a bit of a wait and it is only limited to certain resorts. Always check the speedboat transfer prices with the hotel resort you are staying in because it can vary from $150 to $400 or at least enquire to the hotel about this before you do any bookings.
I know this video is targeting people from India but for anyone coming from Europe (like me, e.g. UK), catch a flight from London Heathrow, Birmingham or Manchester or any European cities that goes directly to Dubai or Doha (or Abu Dhabi) as stopovers before boarding from these places to Male. From Dubai to Male, flight time is 3.5 hours. From London or Birmingham to Dubai, it'll be 7 to 7.5 hours.
In terms of tours, most resorts will offer island hopping tours (including going to local islands), snorkelling and dolphin spotting, sunset cruises, dinner/lunch on Robinson Crusoe-style island for couples, and half-day trip to Male (depending which resort you are staying in)

Actually I had very bad experience with Pickyourtrail 👎👎👎while travelling to Bali. They didn't even help us in anyway, right from immigration till we reach back home. They didn't even have the decency to tell that the itinery had places which could have been visited in the same day itself. We had to visit the same place for 2 days back to back. Thank God, somehow I had a little failsafe plans in the itinery. Hence I was able to save, atleast some of our precious time we had in our Anniversary trip,
But as you mentioned, I had couple of my relatives who had a good experience with them, but that's before COVID. I visited during August 2021 to Bali

Weather in July is going to be rainy, so be prepared for that. And you can just swipe your International Debit/Credit card at most places or carry USD if you have that on you!
