@@ArmyScoutMom The "Two Witnesses" are NOT two people, that is certain. Many say Elijah and Enoch are the most likely but for an incorrect reason. People think they didn't die but were taken to Heaven which is NOT true, Jesus clearly stated that no one who died previously to his death went to Heaven. (John 3:13) Moreover, no man has ascended into heaven but the one who descended from heaven, the Son of man.
A number of years after his ascension in the windstorm Elijah is still alive and active as a prophet, this time to the king of Judah. Because of the wicked course taken by King Jehoram of Judah, Elijah writes him a letter expressing Jehovah’s condemnation, which is fulfilled shortly thereafter.-2Ch 21:12-15

I believe the same spirit that rested upon them, will be assigned to two chosen individuals of today. And the reason I believe that is because, once we finish our race and given our crown. I have believed for many years that it will be Enoch and Elijah and for the exact same reason given in the video. Those two men have the distinction of being the only people on planet earth for all time to have never experienced physical death. Both witnesses will experience physical death and I think it will be for the very first and only time they have ever died. If it turns out to be Moses and Elijah I won't be disappointed, but I still lean towards Enoch since he never died, but Moses did so he would be dying a second time.

(John 3:13) Moreover, NO MAN HAS ASCENDED TO HEAVEN BUT THE ONE WHO DESCENDED FROM HEAVEN, THE SON OF MAN.
According to Jesus' own words, He is the first to be raised to Heaven, no one who lived before his time ever went to Heaven including Moses, Enoch and Elijah. They are still dead in the grave until a resurrection during the Millennium. See my explanation of the two witnesses above.

Here's something to think about: it's taught by many church leaders that Enoch never died; that God took him; that this event was supposedly a type of rapture. Many also think he is one of the Two Witnesses. But in Hebrews it tells us that Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, and Sarah all died in faith (Heb. 11:13). If Enoch was translated to heaven (i.e. rapture) then why does scripture say he died? Concerning Elijah being caught up in a whirlwind (2 Kings 2:11), which has caused many to assume he was raptured; to never see death, why does scripture show that Elijah wrote a letter to king Jehoram, who reigned after the death of his father Jehoshaphat, who was king at the time when Elijah was taken by the whirlwind, about ten years afterward (2 Chronicles 21:12)? Since Elijah was caught up to heaven by a whirlwind during the time of Jehoshaphat then how could he write a letter to Jehoram ten years later?
The truth of the matter is that neither Enoch or Elijah are one of the Two Witnesses, for both died and are in heaven, including Moses, John the Baptist, and the Apostle John (Rev. 10: 11).
The Two Witnesses are the gentiles and Jews that come to repentance to receive the true gospel in the latter days, which is a 7-yr period that lies on the latter timeline, the end times.
These Two Witnesses shall witness after the Latter Rain falls, the second outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God is: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and these Three are one.

Acts 1:8 says “ But ye shall receive power , after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you : and ye shall be ( WITNESSES ) unto me both in Jerusalem , and in all Judaea , and in Samaria , and unto the uttermost part of the earth “. That’s the same words in the prophesy of Revelation 11:3 where the two witnesses were given power . In Acts 10:39-43 and verse 43 the Apostle Peter said “ And we ( Apostles ) are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews , and Jerusalem ; whom they slew and hanged on a tree : 40 Him God raised up the third day , and shewed him openly; 41 Not to all people , but unto ( WITNESSES ) chosen before God , even to us , who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead . 42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people , and testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be Judge of quick and dead . 43 To him gave all the prophets ( WITNESS ) that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall have remission of sins “. Revelation 11:3-12 was prophetically written and it doesn’t necessarily say that two individual people are going to appear out of nowhere and prophesy . Revelation 11:4 says “ These are the two olive trees , and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth . That’s prophetically speaking of the Old Testament prophets that prophesied of the coming savior and his death burial , resurrection , and ascension and the coming salvation plan . It prophetically speaking of the apostles that were all witnesses of it all coming to pass . In other words the Old Testament and the New Testament church are the two witnesses . It’s still being a witness today by the preached word of God from both the Old and the New Testament by ministers around the world .

I also think the two witnesses are metaphorical because Revelation 11:4 says that they are “…the two olive trees, and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the Earth.” After studying and hearing,, I believe they are either the Old and New Testaments, like you said, or Jewish and gentile believers. Jewish and gentile believers makes The most sense to me, because they are killed in Revelation 11. The nonbelievers celebrate, and then the witnesses are raised to life (raptured) when everyone else sees and understands at that point. The 7th trumpet sounds (rapture) and the third woe, the bowls of wrath, are poured upon the Earth. I know that some will say the rapture happens earlier, but it is pretty clear that the last trumpet, the seventh one, precedes the bowls of wrath, and that the two witnesses are raised before the last trumpet.

Zechariah 4:11-14 Then I said to him, "What are these two olive trees on the right and the left of the lampstand?" And a second time I answered and said to him, "What are these two branches of the olive trees, which are beside the two golden pipes from which the golden oil is poured out?" He said to me, "Do you not know what these are?" I said, "No, my lord." Then he said, "These are the two anointed ones who stand by the Lord of the whole earth."
Romans 11:16-24 If the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole lump, and if the root is holy, so are the branches. But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree, do not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you. Then you will say, "Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in." That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do not become proud, but fear. For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you. Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God's kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off. And even they, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God has the power to graft them in again. For if you were cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be grafted back into their own olive tree.
Revelation 11:3-4 And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth." These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth.
Revelation 12:1-2 And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was pregnant and was crying out in birth pains and the agony of giving birth.
Revelation 12:5-6 She gave birth to a male child, one who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron, but her child was caught up to God and to his throne, and the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, in which she is to be nourished for 1,260 days.

They will be shot and killed all over the world; that's why the whole world of people will witness their deaths and rejoice: everyone worldwide, will have a hand in the deaths of these two witnesses. After three days with them all lying in the streets---everywhere---then comes the rapture. Any Christians or Messianic Jews still alive will be raptured with those who were killed.

Have you ever considered Jeremiah 11-16 or Romans 11-17 and 24 as to where the two witnesses come from? One from the Natural Olive tree or Church of Israel (Jewish body of Christian believers) and one from the Wild Olive tree or Church of the Gentiles (Gentile body of Christian believers). In context with Zechariah 4:11-14 and Revelation 11:4 we have two Holy Spirit anointed prophets, one Jewish and the other a Gentile who should be the two witnesses. This is the only contextual conclusion from the imagery of the two olive trees. This would also preclude two famous past prophets since one has to be a Gentile. That narrows down the choice to just number 3, two as yet unknown prophets.

Jesus & His Disciples Last Meeting, the Great Commission, and Jesus' Accension
FAR UP IN Galilee, away from the reach of their enemies, a group of men and women met together on a mountain-side and waited for the appearance of their Lord. And Jesus came to them there, and talked in other days. And they rejoiced to see him once more and worshiped him but some doubted that he was really the same Jesus who had been nailed to the cross.
One day after this meeting some of the disciples who had been fishermen returned to the Sea of Galilee. The familiar sight of the water and fishing-boats floating about on the surface stirred within Peter's heart a desire to again go fishing. So he told his companions, and they said, "We will go with you."
All that night the men stayed in their ship, toiling with their net but not one fish did they catch. When morning came they drew near to the shore and saw a stranger standing there beside a fire of coals. He called to them and asked whether they had any fish.
They replied that they had caught none, and he bade them cast their net into the water once more, this time on the right side of the ship. They obeyed, and now the net was filled.
John, the disciple who often went with Peter and James, now whispered to his companions, "It is the Lord."
And immediately Peter wrapped his fisher's coat about his body and jumped overboard to swim to shore, so eager was he to come to Jesus. The others remained in the ship and brought it to the landing. Then Jesus commanded them to bring some of the fish they had caught, and Peter drew the net from out of the water. In it they had taken one hundred and fifty-three large fishes, yet the net was not broken. Then Jesus asked the men to come and eat, for he had already prepared fish and bread on the burning colas.
After they had eaten, Jesus talked with Simon Peter, the disciple who had denied him at the time of his trial. He asked Simon three times if he loved him, and each time Simon replied, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you."
Simon believed that Jesus knew all things, and he felt sad because Jesus asked him this same question the third time. Then he remembered how only a short while ago he had denied three times that he ever knew Jesus. Now he declared three times that he loved him, and Jesus told him to feed his lambs and sheep.
Simon Peter had heard Jesus speak a parable one day about the Good shepherd, who gave his life for his sheep. And he knew that Jesus had called himself the Good Shepherd. Now he understood that Jesus had died for the sins of the people, and he believed that men and women were the sheep whom Jesus meant that he should feed. Not their bodies, but their souls were hungry to be fed, and Jesus wanted Peter to leave his work as a fisherman and become a preacher of the gospel. In this way he could feed the people.
Then Jesus told Peter words like these: "When you were a young man you went wherever you wished, but when you shall become an old man you shall stretch out your hands and another shall carry you where you do not wish to go."
By these words he meant that when Peter should grow old he would be put to death because he loved Jesus.
Then he said to Peter, "Follow me."
Simon Peter turned about and saw John standing by. At once he asked, "Lord, what shall this man do?"
But Jesus said, "Never mind about John's work see that you follow me."
Forty days passed by, and during these days Jesus often spoke with his disciples about the kingdom of God. Still they did not understand that it would not be an earthly kingdom, like the kingdom of David had been. At last the time came for their farewell-meeting.
During this time Jesus appeared to his disciples and "when they saw him, they worshiped him: but some doubted.
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost."
While they talked earnestly together, Jesus said, "John the Baptist baptized you with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit in a few days."
And some of the disciples asked, "Will you at that time restore the kingdom of Israel?"
But Jesus said, "It is not for you to know the plans of the heavenly Father but you shall receive power from heaven when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and this power will cause you to witness boldly to me in Jerusalem, in all the country of Judah, in Samaria, and in the farthest parts of the world. But do not go away from Jerusalem until the Holy Spirit is given to you."
While Jesus talked to them they were standing together on the Mount of Olives, and suddenly the disciples saw him being caught up into heaven. They watched until he disappeared from sight in bright clouds, after which they saw him no more. But still they stood gazing upward, hoping to catch one more glimpse of their departing Lord.
Then two angels came and stood beside them, clothed in beautiful garments of white. They said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus who is taken up from you into heaven will come again in the same manner as he went away."
Then they left the place and went into Jerusalem, into a room up-stairs, where they met together with other friends of Jesus to wait and pray until the promised Comforter should be given to them.
No longer were they sorrowing for now great joy filled their hearts because they knew that Jesus was really the Christ.

Zechariah chapters 3 and 4. They signifed the end of law and the beginning of the promise of coming grace, through faith, in the coming Messiah, and also heralded the advent of the Messiah, Zechariah 14, and the conclusion of the world system, and the establishment of the Millennium reign and the final judgment, and the new heaven and earth- Isaiah 65, Revelation chapters 19-21; Isaiah 66:24; Lastly- the rewards Revelation 22.
The Lord never leaves any thing hanging. The two books of Ezra and Nehemiah were the only ones not concluded, as the 70th week year will continue from where they stopped and the book was shut in Daniel 12:4. God always performs and perfects His purposes and promises. He is Faithful and True, He has exalted His word above all His name, so none of His word will go back to Him void! He is God All by Himself, as some would say! All glory and praises to His Holy name! Amen!
Galatians 4:29-30! It's always been like this right from the beginning, right from the garden, then Genesis chapters 6,14:17-24; 21:9-10- Jacob and Esau; Pharez and Zerah; Pharaoh/Moses; David/Absalom; Jezebel, Athaliah, Haman, Herod, Hitler, Antichrist/false prophet.
This has to play out till the end for all to know, without a shadow of doubt, that God rules in the midst of the heathen, the earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell in them, and that He is Lord of all!
Joshua and Zerubbabel were the first high priest and governor- respectively, after 69 of the 70 week years- of captivity in Babylon, and the remnants returned to rebuil Jerusalem and the temple (Nehemiah, Ezra), and the land hadn't had any blood sacrifices for cleansing and atonement nor they themselves had been cleansed(which gave satan the right to accuse Joshua to God, as having a filthy garment, and watching if God will dare accept such sacrifices. But God, though still not having anything to do with Israel personally, sent His angel, to rebuke satan, and by GRACE, commanded a change of raiment for Joshua. (That same grace we have access to at this time through Jesus Christ)
Could it be the same situation when Israel returns after God had scattered them throughout the whole world, and there hasn't been any sacrifices of blood for cleansing and atonement this far, and God raises up these two again as He promised?
Haggai 2, Zechariah 4. Joshua and Zerubbabel were the 2 people in focus after Israel was restored from captivity and, are they the 2 anointed Ones mentioned in Revelation 11:4? We have been thinking they were Moses and Elijah or Enoch. What do you think?

Do we have any Biblical evidence of anybody ever coming back to earth after having gone up to heaven? I'm not talking about Jesus Himself but about mere mortals like you and me.
Since the book of the Revelation is highly symbolic, do these two witnesses have to be two individuals? Could they be representative of something else? I have no personal opinion on the matter. I listen various interpretations and weigh them against what's written in the Holy Bible.
It seems that a lot of things in Revelation have already occurred in smaller scales in other parts of the Bible. If the two witnesses are actual physical human beings, then there should be--I would expect--at least one episode in the Bible where a person came BACK from heaven. In Luke 16, Jesus wasn't allowing the possibility of someone dying, going to heaven (or Abraham's bosom), and then coming back to live on earth. He only allowed for His own resurrection.
With this line of thinking, then the two witnesses must represent something else.
I don't know. Just thinking "out loud" here.
    Blessings to you all!

You fail to realize that neither Moses or Elijah or any human has power to do miracles. God does the miracles, just as Peter confessed about the lame man at the Temple. It wasn’t by his power by which it was done.

What's your opinion about the two men (witnesses)?

    • @hargisP2
      @hargisP2 Год назад

@@NTZCh7 my opinion is it won’t matter to me because I won’t be present. It will be two men. Some think that they will be two that have not died, being that they will be killed, and the Bible says that man shall die once then the judgement. Otherwise they would be on their second death. Who ever it is God has the power to have it work for His purpose.

One of the witness has to lead the first generation of Jews to the promised land and the other had to declare the power of God against Baal for God word is a living word against Baal an idol. The 2 men also have to be at the transfiguration to witness Jesus Christ face to face to see who they were preaching during their earthly life and they were a witness of his crucifixion before it actually happened.

Right now I'm studying revelation and I'm wondering is it something to fathom or vision literally or is this a book that is by an allegory?
Why answers can help. I do not attend any church. I left the Mormon church they don't teach the same as the Bible. They have their own bible and teaching.

Scripture must interpret scripture and we must keep the Christocentric view when we do Hermeneutics. The Lampstand is the key image here, this is not 2 literal people

Hear me out, Enoch and and Elijah did not die yes but a lot of people will also be taken up in a cloud in a blink of an eye when Jesus comes back with the rapture so Enoch and Elijah will not be the only ones who did not die before going to heaven.
