Hey D Wright, so with a GA pass your free to walk to different turns that are also GA???....This is actually a good view..It'll be my first time going to COTA for F1 and I think im gonna go ahead and go with the GA. Also is there a lot of areas that you can walk around and check stuff out with a GA pass after the race??? Thanks for the vid man.
should i get the friday to sunday GA tickets for $199? or do yall recommend to just get the race day? and is there anyway we can get close to the cars? i mean what days are those that we can get close to the cars and get pictures? thanks
aceman42 yes, you get to watch the cars evolve from p1 to race day and plus you get to see all the cool events in between. I’m sure Mose of y’all already made up y’alls mind but in case anyone else sees this, if you can get the full weekend tickets, if it’s your first time going get GA tickets and you can walk around and go to other GA zones throughout the weekend and see where you like it best, but you won’t be able to go to grandstand seats, but that’s ok, there’s plenty of good GA spots (T1 T2-6, and T16 are some of the best). And if you do get GA tickets please for the love of what’s holy bring some good chairs, even those folding chairs they sell at academy will do fine because you don’t want to sit without back support for a minimum of 2 hours.
Next time you go to the USGP would you do general admission again? Or do you think it would be worth the $$$ for grand stand seats? I've never been to an f1 race before and I want to go this year, but I was kind of taken aback by the $550-700 3 day grand stand passes since I was planning on bringing my girl friend. It's $150 this year for general admission.
+David Stefanowicz Oh yeah, GA is a good buy. I purchased a seat ticket last year, but ended up walking around most of the time anyway. I would recommend getting a GA ticket your first time, then you can see what areas you like, then possibly next time getting a seat if you prefer.
+D Wright thanks. I think that's what I'll do. I'm trying to figure out the best way of getting there. I'll be flying in from NJ. Did you drive and park at the track parking lots, do the park and ride, or take one of the shuttles from down town Austin? I emailed COTA asking about the shuttle info for this years race, but they don't have the details yet. I'm stuck between staying at a more expensive hotel downtown and taking the free shuttle (if there is one) or staying outside of Austin at a less expensive hotel and renting a car and parking at the track or park/ride.
@@daviewavie112 dont know if im 5 years too late but I just bought my tickets GA and will be flying from NJ also. Did you ever end up going and have any advice on viewing, the event, traveling there? This will also be my first F1 event. Thanks !
@@Insanekilla23 awesome! You’re gonna have a blast. So… 1. Getting there- I did an air bnb somewhere around Austin. And drove to the off site shuttle each morning. The bus takes you right to the gate. It’s cheaper than paying for on site parking, plus less traffic I guess. I had a rental car. 2. GA viewing- I actually had grand stand tickets for the turn 9 grand stand. I went to all three days (Friday prac, Saturday quali, and Sunday race day). The Grand stand ticket includes access to all the GA areas. So I was able to, over the course of the weekend, check out my turn 9 grand stand along with every GA viewing area. Turn 1 GA was definitely the best view. I actually liked it so much more than my grand stand seat that I sat there for quali and the race. Turn 1 GA area has views of the start, the pits, over taking action at turn 1, view of the fly over before the start, views of the cars going into the esses section. Highly recommended. But definitely if you have time fri and sat check out the different GA areas to get a feel for the whole track. I watched some of the support races from other areas and they were enjoyable too, just to get a different perspective. Bring some binoculars too, you can see them doing pit stops and also see cars pretty much all the way across the track from turn 1. Also I bought a camp chair from Walmart and returned it after the race. Race day get there early if you can and secure a spot near the base of the turn 1 grand stand and you should be good 👍🏼 Also wear comfortable walking shoes, the track is huge and getting to different areas is a decent hike.
@@daviewavie112 you are a goat! I really appreciate you taking the time out to give me your genuine tips of race weekend. I did see some footage of turn 1 looks amazing. I have to book my flight soon but I am really excited to go, I saw they might have their sprint qualifying format at COTA this year. I’ll definitely be visiting a walmart for those essentials. Besides the practice, quali, and race what else is there to do during the weekend? Is there anything you wish you did instead ? Thanks again this was very helpful !!
GA is great at COTA, the only time I have been to Laguna I had reserved seating, but from what I saw, I'd say COTA has just as good, if not better GA viewing areas. I'd recc getting there early if you wanna get on turn 1, if you miss out on that grab a seat at the beginning of the s's.
I didn’t realize i would instantly tear up at hearing the old v10s
8s.
Can’t wait to be there this year!
same bro
@@kevinsnow1014 do yall know if we get to walk around all the GA spots?
@@rickyvazquez5323 yes you are free to move around
does GA get you into the night concerts? and/or when does GA end?
Heading there this year! Thanks for the great vid!

A GA ticket lets you access any GA seating area. You can walk to any of them using the same ticket.
