Just wanted you to know, you've single-handedly gotten the ball rolling on these emotes I've been too down on myself to make. Your workflow really helped me get over the hump of not feeling good enough. Sincerely, thank you
thank you so much for all your emote videos!! I’m thinking of starting to draw emotes/open comms for em when I get comfortable enough, so your videos have been so, SO helpful on dealing with the resizing and what to prioritize in design!!
Don't forget that emotes won't look the same size on every single screen. In some screens like TVs and iphones they use a different size. I honestly don't know why they make them look so small on PC. I know you get a preview when you hover over the emote in chat and it shows the 112x112 version. I'm still waiting for Twitch to allow us to chose between sizes on chat settings or at least give us the 56x56 as default.
Beautiful video on emotes! I started streaming this year and discovering emotes have change my art significantly! I can’t help but draw chibis lately instead of my usual stylized art ❤️😆
A long time ago I made my own twitch emotes, they were okay but not quite there yet compared to the quality I've seen from other emotes.. Had trouble with badges as well.. But now I'm gonna try again! Thank you so much for the tips, great vid!
Im no artist by any means but it was driving me crazy trying to outline an emote that was burgundy and make sure it looked right in dark mode. Your videos helped me alot
Thank you so much for this awesome video! Really appreciate you taking the time and effort to make this and share it with others! This was well done and organized!
I read that you need emotes in 3 different sizes. Is that true (112, 56, 28px)? And why would that be necessary? I'm pretty new to twitch and a nood at understanding what to look out for to get the best emotes .. :'D
@@tommen.baratheon this is from Twitches emote guidelines page: "Depending on whether you wish to use auto-resize or manual upload, you will either need a single PNG between 112 x 112px and 4096 x 4096px, or three image sizes: 28 x 28px, 56 x 56px and 112 x 112px" So it gives you a file size range you can work with. You can read more about the guidelines here: help.twitch.tv/s/article/emote-guidelines?language=en_US
when my client asked to show all the head, and makes some stupid small details and i say '' it wont be visible' but say'' want it' and then i work for some shit that wont appear, but anyway :D
It's good to collect all the info upfront about what a client wants. Good that you told them the details won't show. But sometimes for myself, when I don't like the concept or some of the issues that may be in an emote (like too many details that won't show) I tell them I can't make it for them.
Do you do commissions? I want some emotes for my twitch and I don’t have the patience to draw them myself lol, I have $100 saved up so when I get paid back I’ll let you know! Very good video!
My apologies, my commissions are closed. The only thing I'm offering in the way of emotes at the moment are my premade emote packs which you can see here: www.etsy.com/shop/shyfoxxart?section_id=33755604 I'll be making more sets in the future as well. I appreciate your interest in my art!

Such great tips! I never thought to use a thicker line on the outside edges of the emote. It makes such a difference.
It totally does! Took me years to figure that one out unfortunately lol

Wonderful tips!! I’m not educated on twitch or emotes at all but I’ve been getting a lot of commission requests for them, your videos are saving me 😄💕

Remember to minimise detail and go for simple ideas
Definitely this!
Wassup with you I have been looking at your work for some help with getting my animated emojis

You no longer need the 3 sizes. Twitch has changed what they require. Design emotes to visible when small and you'll do well!
@@Shyfoxx So, there isn't a regular size requirement? Would you still recommend one?

Omg I use the Sailor moon Emotes on my Channel 😱 I love them❤
That's awesome!
Thanks, your videos were really helpful :)
Thank you!😃
Thanks great tips!
Love your art :D
Thanks so much! :)
when i resize it to 28x28 and i upload it to discord it is still pixelated and does look how its suppose to, i dont know what im doing wrong
Please see my video about emote distortion: ruclips.net/video/q0xRoqCxs7E/видео.html
Discord usually just resize it, as long as u upload a 1 : 1 image, so i think it's because you sized it before uploading it?
When you originally start drawing your emote, what size do you draw it?
I use a 500x500 pixel canvas size at 90 DPI 👍
@@Shyfoxx thank you so much for reply!!!!

I want to do lineless should i still line the outside ? 🤔
I think you'll have to test it out as lineless emotes is unfamiliar to me.

You say 12 in the intro, but 10 in the title, just encase it's a typo!
Oh yeah, forgot the intro says that, it ended up being 10 haha. Shoot Lol. Thanks for letting me know!
