GENERAL BOBA PROCEDURE:
Fill a large pot halfway with water and bring to a boil. If desired, add ~10 drops liquid sweetener to infuse some sweetness. (I like to use stevia or monk fruit drops.)
Add uncooked boba tapioca pearls to boiling water. Lightly stir unto boba begin to float, then cover and boil for 3 minutes.
Remove pot from heat and carefully drain boba pearls. Transfer to a bowl and cover with water until ready to use. (Otherwise they’ll stick together!)

I commend you for going for this drink, attempting to make it healthier but in the process of doing so i feel like you steered into the smoothie recipe zone.
Rt she just made a smoothie and added tea
Literally some of the boba places I go to have SMOOTHIES on the menu

Are you a bubble tea/boba fan?! If so, this is for you! I hope you enjoy :) Also, have you subbed to my pizza channel yet?! :) bit.ly/eatthepizza
Mind Over Munch Yes, and extremely so
To make it lighter I would substitute the tapioca balls for fruit like blueberries
Mind Over Munch I'm not a big fan of boba but I like poping boba. It tastes way better. But no one makes boba tea with poping boba😭😭😭
LOVE Bona, but these would be good w chia as well.
Isabel Hernandez Look up Tea Do, they have popping bubble or regular boba with any tea
I tried the coffee one now I'm just like fuck Starbuck lol I'm in love thanks for the recipe
Ha that's awesome so glad you like it! Thanks for trying the recipe!

I've been a fan of your channel for a while now and can confidently say you are my favourite food RUclipsr, everything is so fun, colourful, cheesy at times and you have such a positive, happy vibe that other RUclipsrs don't have. Thank you for all your hard work of listening to viewers and replying to so many comments and on your great recipes and information. I really appreciate that you do this and I bet a lot of other people do too. I adore bubble tea so I feel like this video is filling that void in my heart. Keep up the great work!!! :D
Thank you so much Adrian, I really appreciate that!! I feel so lucky to be able to do this and connecting with you is what makes the work worth it :) Thanks for being a part of the community!
@@MindOverMunch Fu@$ng amazing.
Chia seeds are a good substitute for boba!! They're smaller but are still fun texture!
nice!!
Teresa Liang yeah, work in smoothies too
Teresa Liang yeah your right! But aren't chia seeds more like In tea' s so you can see them?
Teresa Liang Great tip!!! I'll try these with chia seeds!!
Chia seeds scare me tbh
Pecan milk!!? That sounds delicious. Now wondering how difficult it would be to make my own... To the Google!
It's so creamy and yummy!!
Drain pecan in water and blend a lot😀
milk a pecan
Alyssia you are hilarious! That opening! My daughter LOVES these. I will be Mom of the year with these.
lol!! Thank you so much :) glad you liked it!
Made the coffee boba for her last night! She loved it!!!
"Drain the balls"
😂 yes, you don't know how many times we had to reshoot that part. "drain the balls" "drain your balls" "drain those balls" it never ends...
mallory sasser Glad there's another person with the mind of a 12 yr old haha!
Mind Over Munch lord have mercy 😳
I WISH!
Is it just me or is anybody else's mind in the gutter?
Omg! So awesome !!! My husband is obsessed with these. Thank you the coffee one looked amazing.
thank you so much! :)
Me: *trying to make this in the corona crises* this is fine-
felt that
I've only had boba one time, and these all look soooooooo good, I'd love to try these some time
I basically just watched this and thought of Boba Fett puns the entire time.
LOL! We seriously considered a Boba Fett intro 😂
Mind Over Munch that would have been totally awesome. Like...what's Boba Fett's favorite drink? Boba tea!
Should have called the mango one a ' Mangolorian'.
..I'm sorry :(
omg youre not alone
I agree with the comment about chia seeds being a good boba sub! Sometimes I’ll make a basic chia seed pudding and dump some of it in my coffee or milk tea. Soo good!
Ooh very cool! Good to know thank you! :)
Thank you so much for sharing these healthy bubble tea ingredients! I was struggling before with making boba, but now that I've watched this, I have more confidence and could finally make bubble tea successfully.
thank you :)
yesss i've been looking for a good & healthy boba tea recipe and bless you for finally making one!! love this channel too much
awesome!! Thank you!!
Thanks so much for this episode, I love love looove bubble tea and avoiding the tapioca pearls means you're not making proper bubble tea! But I know people sometimes use basil seeds/"mini pearls" (which are very similar to chia seeds) instead, it's what my sister has with hers! So you could use chia seeds as a healthier(?) replacement in case you want a fun texture!
Mind over munch I'll love you forever now 😜
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it :) love chia!
Can't sleep, craving bubble tea so Im watching this😋
:)
thank you! cant wait to try these!
I will give these a try. Easy and probably delicious! Thanks.
Yay!! Love this! Amazing what you can to bring bubble tea up a notch while adding some nutrition!
And yeah, you can't replace the pearls! Haha!
:) Thank you! I totally agree, without those bubbles it just isn't boba!!
Mind Over Munch is this what the Star Wars Boba Fett drinks? 😝
I had an add about “popping and eating pearls for the first time”
Same
Thanks for sharing these exciting and healthy recipes!
I love the popping pearls you can get in some boba places. They usually have fruit juice inside and it's so fresh and nicer than a lot of chewy tapioca!
very cool!
i'm sorry alyssia i forgot to say happy birthday so Happy Birthday Alyssia! i hope you had a wonderful day
Thank you so much, Dylan!! I appreciate it :) Hope you're having a great day, too!
just use small frozen blue berrys, it worked for me
nice! It won't have the same texture but a nice visual trick :)
LOL... no chew to blueberrys... totally not the same!
this is why you use frozen blueberrys
Still not the same... tapioca pearls are where it is at...
i also said, it worked for me, try it first before you lol me, also its a healthier option, just like mock meat, dont taste exactly the same as meat but its healthier
im happy that i have now healthy recipes for boba tea i love it
Fantastic! Thank you for sharing!
Damn this looks soo goooodd
Definetly gonna try one
nice! thanks :)
jimiiin~
Excuse me~~ -Jiminie

Love the intro!😂
haha! Thank you :)
You are a genius, Alyssia! I love how creative and clever (and healthy) you get with your recipes! 🙂
thank you!!!
I've made my own boba pearls and it came out really good! I used tapioca flour/starch and kneaded it like regular dough, made small balls, and then boiled them. Didn't add any sugar as I was just testing it to see if it'd actually work, and it did! You can definitely boil the pearls in some sweetener or add sugar to the flour--whatever works for you.
so cool! Thanks! :)
Note on the intro: THE TEA BAG GOES IN FIRST! Good video though.
Me: *uses grape cause I don’t know how to get the boba thingys and it’s “healthier”*
neat! Some have used blueberries too :)
Awesome vid. I love Bubble tea and have always wanted to make it at home. I have a nutribullet as well and I will definitely be trying these out. I also try to stay on the healthier side to manage my weight and nutrition. These are great!!
Thank you for always having easy to download recipes
yeah!
Is it your... specialTEA?
Edit: Pun intended.
LOL
Lolol
its took me a second 😂😂😂
Them: “Easy; Can Make At Home!”
Me: But I don’t have the ingredients..
It's still easy to make AT home. Almost any specialty recipe is going to require you to pick up ingredients. Yiesh
@@HORSESNDOGS9 it would be easier to just drive to a boba shop
@@notnessa3068 right, but the point is that this person has provided an easy method of making boba if that's something you want to do.
This is my first time watching this channel and that intro gave me a heartattack😂😂😂 I’ve subscribed
I love love love these! I am so excited to try these! Yay!
awesome!! thanks!!
happy birthday! !
Thank you so much Julie!! :)
Mind Over Munch yw
Intro is funny...I like it
haha, thanks!
I can’t wait to make some, all of them look and sound so good!
awesome, thank you!
I LOVED this. Can't wait to TRY this
Have fun! thank you! :)
Hi, sweet adorable Alyssia. Your bubble tea look simply delish. What did you enjoy about making bubble tea? Have a good day, sweet adorable Alyssia. Keep the recipes coming, cutie pie. 🌹💗💗💗
thank you Byron!! I love making bubble tea and seeing what flavor combinations are possible!! :)
I mean the intro wasn’t wrong
Bubble mix + Tea =
Bubble tea 👉🏽•3•👉🏽
this looks soooo good! I'm definitely gonna make this!
I love that you have screen shot recipe cards!!
Why did I think this was a add
For a quick second, I thought "maybe she substituted the tapioca with blueberries," then I pushed play. Can't win them all, but your recipes are great as always.
haha, thank you :)
Great ideas. I love coconut boba as well. I see you like the tapioca pearls too... that flavour had the most pearls! Just the way I like’em. Definitely have to try this for the summer.
This is really helpful!! Thank you for sharing the recipe! This helped me a lot!!!
You said i should use my favorite ingridients so i am going to get some pizza.
Haha 😂😀🤣😆😅
where can I get tapioca balls? I never see them in stores
I linked the ones I got in the description, I've only gotten them online :)
Nina Cookie Try your local Asian grocer
Nina Cookie or you could make them yourself! it's fairly simple and way healthier without all that artificial stuff
Nina Cookie order them online or go to your local asian store
Asian markets/grocery stores...
Great video! I once went to this barista in Boston that substituted the tapioca with chunks of aloe vera! It was awesome!
Omg yes!!! Me and my friends will definitely try this on the weekend 😅❤
hmmm...interesting never heard of Boba tea before
oh gosh it's so good!
i so miss your what i eat in a day, when are you going to film that again?
Marie Yap You are missing out
I love your videos! My only request is to encourage people to use reusable containers to minimize waste. There's really no good reason to use disposable cups.
tdot who said she's not reusing them .. u can encourage people to do something all u want but if they don't want to you're just wasting your breath 🤷♀️
That's a great tip! And we do save our containers, we just wash them out and dry them and save to use again :)
The one I made was With Pineapples and Coconut milk and a little bit of vanilla extract. It tasted Delicious! Thx for helping me out. Even though I didn’t have tapioca balls to add.
Omg thankyou these look so good and much healthier!! ❤️❤️
Use dates instead of the tapioca balls...I soak them, remove the pits and skins, roll into little balls and keep them in the fridge and add a few to my “boba” teas
THE FIRST 38 SECONDS WERE THE SCARIEST MOMENTS OF MY LIFE I LITERALLY THOUGHT YOU WERE SERIOUS
lol!
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED!!! Seriously, kept thinking about how to make these healthier.
thanks Maggie!
Thank you! ❤️💕 I tragically can’t get by boba tea in quarantine currently so this is a saviour!✨✨
Nobody:
Literally no-one:
Absolutely nobody in the world:
Me: hmm I really wanna post some pics of me drinking bubble tea but I don't have pearls...
Also me: Just use blueberries!!

I tried bubble tea from a cafe the other day and it was disgusting. I don't see what all the hype is about
it's definitely not for everyone!
I also think it's definitely about flavor choice! I tried a green tea one once and it truly was disgusting and bitter, I've since learned that black milk tea with lavender or rose flavoring is my preferred way- or a mango black tea with jelly instead of boba (or both).
It's definitely not for everyone, but especially if you chose a flavor outside your usual flavor preferences, I'd really encourage you trying it again!
try the mango tea flavor trust me its good
For boba alternatives, I recommend nata de coco and grass jelly. Both are vegan and can be found at Asian supermarkets/online.
I can't tell you how happy I was to see the boba tea video, I love the tea but the normal stuff is so bad for you so this video really helps. I would love to see a second boba video somewhere along the line.
:) Thank you! I'll try to do another!
If you’re making it at home, why use disposable plastic cups and straws??? Why are you encouraging that even if it’s just for presentation?
What I was thinking!
Bih calm down
Bitch calm the fuck down
Why people think that bubble tea is a new thing now?
it's emerging in pop culture more now but I've loved it for years!
B/c it's not sold @ McDonald's...Lol
I’m East Asian and have had it since I was a toddler lol
@@YeetusTheFetus it's been in canada for decades lol, probably because of our asian population. i'd like to work in some of the places around here, because, unlike many places in the US, the pearls are fresh and they're free of chemicals - US ones that i have had all tasted like the seven-eleven ones that flopped, except those ones were packed with lots of flavour.
This sounds great! Especially the mango tea. I've only had a boba drink once and I loved it, but sadly usually whenever I have too much sugar in drinks (like tea or hot cocoa) I get a stomach ache, so hopefully these recipes can allow me to have a tasty with less of a risk of feeling sick :)
thank you :)
Yessss! I was just about to try to find a recipe to make for my new filipino friends today! Thank you! You are the best!
thank you!
PIZZA FANS WHAT UP!? What do you think a PIZZA Bubble Tea would consist of!? 😬
😵😂
Eat The Pizza it would consist of nightmares and horrible gas
Some sauce mixed with melted cheese and little bread crumbs on the top
Boba topped on a sweet toast with a tea-infused marscapone cheese!
mini mozzarella boba balls lmao
When you picked up the bubbles i got scared
It's great, thanks so much. I love your recipes
Thanks so much 😊
these all look so delicious mmm 😍 definitely going to try the mango green tea and pb & j
Nice video but please don't promote single use plastic cups thanks!
Ive never tried bubble tea but really want to. The banana coconut one sounds delicious! I think strawberry and banana would be good too, almost like a bubble milkshake/smoothie
Thank you! It's tasty even without the boba :)
I can't wait to try each of these out over the remainder of the summer. So excited for the coffee one!
awesome! Thank you!!
Oh my goodness I love these! I've never tried bubble tea before and I'd love to make a few of these. Thanks girl
thanks girl! The drinks are good, even without the boba!! :)
YES!! So glad you made this! Bubble tea is my favoriteeee
I love it too, thanks!!
Interesting! Ive never had boba before but that coconut one sounds amazing!
it's so good even without the tapioca balls!
I have never had this drink. But it looks very interesting
I can’t believe how simple these are
I can't wait the try these!!
awesome!
Soooooo excited !!! I was just looking for recipes ! Thank you so much 💕
awesome! Thank you!
This is such a educational video, thanks for the boba recipe's!
thank you! :)
I've never tried this drink before, and I made the mango green tea boba and OMG it's sooooo good
awesome!! So glad you enjoyed it!! thanks!
Omg thanks for this video and giving healthy options. It is so common in singapore
awesome! Thanks :)
Hey I got the same package of boba! Thanks for the tutorial!
I love love love these recipes I don't use the tapioca balls because there way to unhealthy but I drink one of these once a day there just so good especially the coffee one
awesome!
*I love bubble tea, too. Like your video, the intro with excited music* ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is very helpful thank you so much for the help.
:3
Timing is great, I found the black tapioca pearls at an asian market and have been meaning to try this. I was thinking more about saving money than health, but control over ingredients and portion size is great.
Nice that's perfect! Hope it turns out well if you do try it :)
I think you can use the edible orbeez things from frozen yogurt shops as a substitute or the pearls. They are made with a clear seaweed gelly outer coating and filled with juices. They taste amazing and I'm sure they work just as well.
Finally! Looooooove this. Will try.
thank you!
