- Something very different here. A bit of a vloggy type thing on one of my practice sessions. I often try and have a few hours after filming days just to try new tactics that I think could work.
This is one of those sessions where I'm trying to come work out how to evolve my pea paste method that has been working so well!

You said it Joe, something so simple and it's working, that's the key. Another brilliant method to try. 😊
I love your videos, your always trying to sort things out, and you share your ideas. Keep up the great content Joe
Cheers Ian
What a great video joe, so informative and you made it look simple. i'll definitely be trying it soon.
Appreciate you sharing all these tips and tricks you’re a credit to fishing 👍😁
I appreciate that!
Top watch Joe……just getting used to ‘normal’ paste fishing and you’ve sent me a curve ball…..😂😂….love it & thanks for sharing.
Thanks 👍
Brilliant Joe love paste fishing I'm always messing to get the right consistency love your videos
Thanks 👍
Nice of you to share your findings, Joe. I don’t think I could do it if I’m honest, lol. I’ve been experimenting on a new way of fishing a certain bait on the feeder and it seems to be working. Not willing to share it though, haha. But I suppose when your as talented as you are then Sharing comes easier. Thanks for all the knowledge and entertainment that you provide for us, Joe. 👏👍😁
Thanks 👍I try to be as open and honest as I can and hopefully the views keep being strong. I'm still trying to work out the best content that the audience enjoys in my channel 👍 I quite like this working things out style
Nice one Joe, will give it a go sometime.
I’ll be on that at the weekend cheers joe great vid.
Thanks for the advice I will try this out next weekend
Top guy Joe. I think we will adopt you as a Yorkshireman!!!
Hi Joe, I tried this today and had 358lb Carp on top 2. I used ground skettings and mixed it with an old favourite, sensas pv1 binder a glutton mixed it stiffens up fantastic, give it a go. I fished portland Waters old wood lake. Down the edge a firm paste works well and you can see the takes. Brill vids keep going
Cant wait see if it works in ur next live match at shearsbury 👍
Great idea Joe ill will be on it tomorrow can't fail. Is It a one to one mix . Ones again the best on RUclips by far.
I won a match with this the other week, well part of my day on it 👍🏻
hi Joe been out this morning I consider my self has a paste Head Well that what these southerners call me . I went for a couple of hrs and did I smash it on the pea paste just magic .
Like your videos Joe, very informative, thanks.
Glad you like them!
Brilliant as always Joe star man ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Nicely fished Joe. I definitely think you might have rewritten the rules of paste fishing. I have tried your original Pea fishing method with OK results. I am fishing a match on my home waters this weekend which has mainly got Carp from 1 to 12Lbs in it with a few F1's. I will have a go at trying your New method. Keep them tips coming as they are very much appreciated. Well done. Cheers
:)
Im not into match fishing but id have kept that under my hat until id won a few matches an ppl came snooping to see what craic is..but v handy method...il try it on my club lake but mght get silvered out. ..time will tell..cheers 😊
I've been using Vital wheat gluten in my paste for a couple of years always worked well unlike sloppy paste easier to swing out as well.
👍
Years ago I was making boilies that were soya, semolina, and egg free. If you get the mix just right you can use a bit of wheat gluten in place of all other traditional binders.
Game changer this like 👍🏻
Hi Joe, when is best to add the wheat gluten to the ground bait before adding water or after? Cheers
Hi Joe great video how do you mix the paste?
brilliant joe.... thanks for sharing!... looks like it's possible to use on a wag?.... with a gentle under arm cast.... like me rod and reel if poss.... will have an experiment....
Possibly! You could add more gluten I reckon
@@MatchFishingFilms thanks man! ... Will do, take care, much respect for sharing, a potential game changer!.
After watching you that hard day when you lept off your box fell in grabbed your feeder rod and had them large carp off the far bank for a win i have always thought you think do what many wouldn't and experiment and busy approach a very clever angler joe hope folk pick up some of what you do
:)
Joe, back in the day Sonubaits used to produce a fibre paste which is now discontinued, there is a video of Andy Findlay using it with your old boss Dave Hall
I've used it many times. Slightly different is this paste. Much finer and softer 👍
10 out of 10 mate- tight lines
Glad you enjoyed it
I fish with paste on feeders.
Get yourself 30g spring coil wire inline feeder, bag of fresh-soft slices toast, and 1 small bag of groundbait of your choice. Put 1l of water in bucket, sprikle handfull of groundbait for smell, stir and soak every slice of toast in water for a few second individualy (put damp slices aside next to bucket). When all slices are damp, remove water from bucket (eather throw it away, or put it in another container for latter), put all slices of damp toast back in empty bucket, and squash it with hand (looks like pulp). Gradualy put handfull of groundbait on tost pulp to stifen the paste mixing by hand. After paste stops stick to a bucket, it should be done (you can get softer paste for lake, or stiffer for river). If you like, you can add particles like wheat, hemp, 2mm pellets, or sweetcorn no problem. Squeez small chunks-balls of paste around wire feeder. 1 paste can last you 5hrs with 5min regular casts. If you want stronger smell, add liquid atractors of your choice in water before soaking tost slices (my favorite is scopex). Its cheap, and it can be used over 3 days.
👍
Now I may be wrong but Sonubait did have a paste around 12years ago called fibre paste which was very similar to what you are using can be hook and cast out on a feeder/float but was still soft not to sure if this is still being produced maybe you could do a comparison video how’s yours differs etc great video thanks for sharing
Yea its not available now. It was much coarser than this
Brilliant that Joe, lots to condider, i know you had a specific float but would a cut down paste float work the same with plenty bristle showing?
The new NuFish JC margin Paste is the one :)
Brilliant cheers
I fished paste shallow twice this week , the fish were so eager they were slurping the paste out the toss pot when lowering it into the water.
i tested this method last summer it was crazy getting a carp every ship in have to slight adjust the bait on the hook to a red piece of corn but still effective. i got mora than 40 carp in 1 hour it was insane.
Amazing-!
Hi, interesting video ... as always.
I do have a question for you. What type/model of landing net handle do you use ?
It depends which I find first in my bag 🤣 mostly a preston response handle but u also have a MAP parabolix one. Both are great
And which one would you recommend for bigger fish (9 - 10 kg or more) ?
Currently, I have a Preston C-Drome Power Handle, but with bigger fish, it doesn't seem very "rigid/stiff".
Brilliant Joe do you think msg what the Chinese put in there meals would work ? Loving the the vids keep em coming and thanks for sharing
Most likely. I've never really played with that stuff. Have you?
@@MatchFishingFilms no it was just a thought while I was watching your vid but I will give it a go and let you know
Interesting video Joe
Thanks 👍
Do you have to mix the gluten in the dry ingredients or can you add it to the wet to get it right? Ive bought some and i aint got a clue on where to start so adding to wet wouod be great if it works
I add it when it's dry but you can add a touch more to tweak it. it's worth mixing it a day or even two in advance.
Hi Joe, great vid can I ask, I noticed that when your playing fish you sort of drop your top kit, why is this, Des Shipp does it a lot as well, just wondering
Back when we used hollow elastics it used to help lock the elastic a bit. Kind of a habit I still have I think
What peg number were you on Joe as fished a comp on hurricane Sunday on the paste peg 25
45
Hi Joe, I really enjoy the video as I love paste fishing. Please could you tell me the name of the wheat gluten that you used thanks .
Vital wheat gluten
@@MatchFishingFilms Thanks Joe
Hi Joe, please can you help me. I know that you didn't want to give away too many secrets, could you tell me if add the two ingredients together dry to the water or do you add the gluten at the end. I will be most thankful for any help.
@@anthonybrewer4814 dry. But it's a good idea to mix one or even two days in advance
Thank you so much for that.
Nice video Joe, how much wheat gluten do add to your groundbait
That's the million dollar question Terry 😁
Loved the content Joe and am very excited to see you on the WW channel soon. I’d get a copyright on this asap, or at least send it in for a patent, if you can beat me too it!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Haha its nothing new. But perhaps forgotten about ideas
Should have kept this one to yourself for a while Joe love that you shared through
Ah well we will see this week if I win or not :)
Know what what you mean about adds but very good tips 🎣🎣
Thanks 👍
I find that it’s much better to sieve the Thatchers to get rid of the big bits.
Yea definitely
Steve Gregory's Miracle Paste would be perfect for this. No need to add gluten.
Yea it would 👍🏻 I have a feeling his already has it in
@MatchFishingFilms I'm loving rewatching all your paste videos. I'm determined it's going to be my main focus this year. I've decided to approach my matches with all guns blazing!!
Oe did you put a cup full in to start off
Not this time 😎
Hi Joe sorry wheat gluten to paste mix ?
I'm going to keep that to myself for now ;)
Has anyone worked out the ratio of Thatchers to wheat gluten yet?
ha ha ha
5% wheat gluten to Thatchers👍
10% wheat gluten is a good starting point, depends how fibrous you want it, I've used more...
Isn't that the same as fibre paste mate
That would work but it isn't available any more
We been using wheat gluten for 30 years in paste
👍
Why not just use the fibre paste that you can buy. It is the same and easy to fish
it's no longer available
Too many ads for me so didnt watch it all. Not hating- i know ads make money etc. Just giving honest feedback.
Fair enough
Deadly method of fishing Joe
