@@ultimawerewolfbluephoenix9670 im 14 and i have to play this for my advanced class for the conservatorium, kill me now, i got 2 months to do the first one :(:(:(
Beautiful, Wieniawski is one of my favorite composer(i have to say that i LOVE his Violin Concerto No.1 in f sharp minor.). i am always surprised by his little innovations in his music, there are always amazement everywhere in his music.
Stuff like this motivates me. If your confidence gets crushed you just need to experience what a bit of time and focused practice can do. I like having the notion that there always is more to improve on regardless of how advanced you are.
Increíblemente bello. Me produce una gran felicidad escucharlo y creo que el también pues solo se puede interpretar el violín de ese modo si se es feliz en el alma. Gracias y un saludo desde la Florida.
The pic of Weiniawski kiils me at the end. He is like "Yes, you have been tortured, and I wrote these pieces to f'"#k with you mere mortal violinists".
***** I meant Paganini's 24 caprices :P but yeah, this is harder. Trust me, it's more complex and requires the use of difficult techniques such as glissando (hard to make it sound good), triple stops, leaps and sopped harmonics, and very complicated melodies involving more than one string.
no, there are lots of things harder than Paganini. Even Wieniawski wrote several pieces that were harder than both Paganini concertos and caprices. One example of that is his Violin Concerto No. 1 in F sharp minor..
It's strange that the player omits the descending harmonics at 1:03. I mean , yes it's extremely difficult, but listening to the rest of the pieces it's evident the player does have the skill to play it?
It's been 7 years, I know, but maybe you're still somewhere in the universe. This little thing is only present in Kreisler's adaptation for violin and piano, not in the original version of Wieniawski. So the sheet might not be the original one, but that of Kreisler! If you listen to piano violin versions of it (Alla saltarella) you will notice that players do it, and not elsewhere (so Heifetz, Vilde Frang, Shlomo Mintz etc.)
how can this be a solo?! incredible!!! how long does it take to play a piece like this? i'm playing the violin for 9 yrs now, but i'm miles away from this one!
... because violinists tend to see "fingers" of left hand rather than notes. This way one can read sheets much faster. But it gets harder when it come to transposition. I hope i helped. :)
More then one melody is called Counterpoint, (the ideas should often contrast in counterpoint, otherwise it just becomes harmony/voice leading , it's often 2 part counterpoint for violin, & 3- 4 part is common on piano (or more)
Even if I could play this, my eyesight is not good enough to read all these musical symbols and notes. It would have to be a HUGE page for me to have all that clear and not get lost. Maybe even easier if I learn it by ear instead of trying to read it.
How about Moto Perpetuo - the amount of circular breathing required (almost 5 minutes) with all the variations plus some nasty dynamics while circular breathing is insane. Also, try playing Al Hirt's Green Hornet theme - the amount of triple tonguing will make you cry 😢😢😢
What is the point of those scales going up I bet the composer just said I'm just gonna put some random notes see how they feel now that they took my violin
@Lissbirds And I can gladly explain this. I play the violin and it would be much harder for me to read transposition via 8va like on piano than simply putting a lot of ledger lines. Because we have strings tuned in 5ths so we can only tranpose in 5ths effortlessly. When transposing in mind 8ths it is much harder because it involves different positions and different fingerings when compared to notation. And it is very confusing...
One of the most infuriating things in pieces like this is when I see a trill over a single 16th note especially when the piece is played fast... I have no idea why they do it when the average listener to the piece will never hear that trill and even those experienced enough won't hear it either...
@madlenxhaha do not measure your playing in years around the sun measure your playing in experience. if you practice twice a week, you'll likely never play this song if you practice for 3 hours a day 10 years, this would be right up your alley to learn in a month properly.
I always think its funny to see pianists say that liszts pieces are more difficult than works by paganini, locateli, bazzini, or weiniawski. If only they knew the pain...
Great beginner piece for new violinists. My students always learn this piece and cry of ”happiness” when they have to perform!
Hahahaa!
It's the closest alternative to smashing your hand in the kitchen drawer, without actually breaking any fingers.
You’re welcome for composing these pieces :)
Wieniawski
Making violinists cry since 1835.
Can I get this on a t-shirt please

After 6 years of first watching this video, I can say yes. This is possible to play. Yes, I am still nowhere near close to being able to play it.

It's always a challenge to knock the later etudes on one shot. I commend the violinist for performing this.
Como assim iniciantes? Meu Deus, só de ver me assusta. Quem sabe um dia consigo esse milagre.

Gorgeous set of pieces. I wish he wrote 24 of them.
I will sight-read this one day .
Oh
I can sight read it pretty good. But I can not fuckin play it, that´s for sure.
i can play it in perfect tempo
just that i play the wrong notes
My day is today, ofc tempo no comment
I hope whoever is playing makes money at violin..
Nobody ever makes money as a musician. I know what I am getting myself into and yet I am still going for it :(
And u just don't know what to think about this. Breathtaking.
this is so good it's depressing.
The Chopin of strings, Henryk Wienawski.
More Liszt
Judorange1980 no chopin, because wieniawski sounds nothing like liszt
@@Zdrange03 Liszt would be more Paganini like have you seen God Save the King?

I like the intonation! It is an equal temperament-very pleasant, but not the standard one!

This looks way harder than Paganini...especially that cadenza O)_(O

I'd say the Chopin of violin
Paganini is Liszt of violin

Fantastic interpretation of "Chant de Bivouac" so lyrical...Who's playing?
@sbitran
ONLY REGARDING "la saltarella" study, is an old recording of Ruggiero Ricci ("Dynamic" label)

It's uploaded by Henri Vieuxtemps.
So, my guess is, it's his great great grandchild.

@violinoamore if he doesnt post up the names of performers then the videos are less likely to be taken down for copyright infringement
7:05 that’s not a piece Wieniawski, that’s a scatter plot
Why can't I hear any staccato for Alla Saltarella?
Haha very true. Anyone who plays the Paganini concerti must feel the same way!
I'm quite sure he's Ruggiero Ricci in a Dynamic LP
Hmmm I can't tell who's music would be hard to play. Paganini's or his.
