@@cormaclevinthal3496 where did he say that? I think I remember hearing that Ricci said the that hardest piece he ever played was Milstein's arrangement of Liszt's Mephisto Waltz No. 1 for solo violin. Milstein said it was the hardest piece he'd ever played in Christopher Nupen's documentary on Milstein while talking with Zukerman. Zukerman said he tried to learn it once and it was impossible. Milstein goes on to say that he even learned and performed the Ernst concerto when he was young, but his own arrangement of Liszt was more difficult.
@@notmusictheory74 Ligeti Cage Sciarrini et al are meme composers with meme compositions, you'll find several nobodies or average-good pros playing them but none of them is able to nail (at a good speed and with phrasing) God Save the King, Wieniawski caprices, Sauret let alone others like Anzoletti.
Wieniawski: Can i copy your homework?
Ernst: Sure but just change it up

It's the german national anthem nowadays
The e’cole moderne was written before the Ernst etudes,
This caprice is like additional to l ecole moderne. I was written much more later and published separately.
@@artemkozyra2827 Last rose or summer was written shortly after 1860 if I'm not mistaken, when was Les arpeges published?

incredible vituosic playing, but i'm not sure how much i actually enjoy the music. A bit too crazy for me.
