  • GHD machines can be expensive and take up a lot of space. Here's a quick hack you can use to make your own GHD with every day gym items.
    With the hooks set on the rig so that the barbell rests at your waist, place the barbell on the rack and use a resistance band to wrap around each end of the barbell and secure it to the rig.
    Use a barbell pad or wrap a towel around the barbell to cushion your hips during the movement.
    If your rig is close to a wall, you can lean a bumper plate against it at a 45 degree angle so that your feet can rest on it. If your rig is not close to a wall, you can stack plates up do your desired height and lean a bumper plate against the weight stack.
    Place the barbell in your hip crease with your feet planted on the bumper plate, and perform glute ham raises like you would on a normal GHD.
