8 oz Cream Cheese 1 packet unflavored gelatin 3/4 cup finely chopped celery 3/4 cup finely chopped green onion 1 can tomato soup 1 cup mayonnaise 1 1/2 pounds cooked shrimp Salt and pepper and tobasco sauce to taste
This looks yummy and what a cool thing to serve on a platter. Would love to hear more about the history of your recipes especially if they come from Louisiana. Love to honor our heritages through sharing of food.
Hey girl glad to have you back home! That shrimp mold looks wonderful and I’m not partial to shrimp. Again, I am so sorry that your sister had to go home so early. It does break ones heart so horribly to experience losing a sibling. My brother went home 2 years ago with several health problems as well. I see the babies were so glad to see you and that does include Joe, as he was working hard on his syrup, cleaning, and cooking too. It got to 76here today and then this afternoon brought a horrible wind that is still here but at least the temperature is great! Joe said that you had lost 28 pounds and that is just wonderful Melissa. Good job. Well, gabbing too long on here but I do enjoy your show and visiting with you. TC Vicki from Iowa.🦋
Suggestion: place the mold in quite warm water in the sink for a few seconds before unfolding. Place the plate face down over the mold. Hold plate and mold firmly together and quickly flip. The mold slip right off when lifted.
@@astheroostercrows6435 I'm a long time, dedicated viewer of Joe’s channels. Are you interested in me typing out your verbal directions for The Rooster videos and giving them to you to edit and then post along with the ingredients? If so, contact me privately. Tom K.
I've never been a huge fan of savory Jello molds but that looks delicious. I might have to give that a try. Thank you for sharing. P.S. It gives me endless joy to see Chunky. He's a lucky boy to have found such a wonderful family.
A work of art! Sweet visit with the kiddies dressed alike. That was nice to see. Chunk is a blessed boy. Safe without a care. Bless you guys. Q. Watching Joe make the syrup reminded me of happy taste bud memories long passed. Actually from the late 60's and 70's. Only problem we never learned granny recipe. My grandmother made Syrup Cake out of Blackburn Maple Syrup. Have you heard of Syrup Cake? OMgoodness it was so good. I think of it often. She also made Tea Cakes. Some were hard and some were soft.
I have a similar recipe that we have made since I was a kid. The only difference is that mine calls for a can of cream of mushroom soup rather than tomato. Sounds crazy but it is delicious! I can see how the tomato soup would be really good too!
Love, love, LOVE this recipe! I have never seen this before...I'm makin' it!! HINT: put your platter on top of the mold, and then turn it upside down...less risk of it breaking apart....again...LOVE THIS RECIPE!
My grandmomma had a lot of copper molds. She had a recipe she prepared for each one of them. Some were savory and some were desserts. My cousin just sent several to my daddy's for all us kids to share. I may try your recipe one day. Summer is here and this could be a perfect dish for the beach house. HUGS~Donna
Great recipe, it looks really good. I can’t wait to try it. I don’t have a mold, but plan on using a small container to try it. I’ll then look for a mold. I have made a similar mixture into a cheese ball for holidays. Thank you for sharing this..❤️.
Total carbs for the whole can of tomato soup is 14g, sugar is 5g, the shrimp mold is rather large, I would say at least 20 servings or more. What I would have more of an issue with is what you eat it with, crackers would be high carbs
That does look yummy! I think I’ll try it. I can’t stand tomato soup though. Do you get a big taste of the tomato soup? I would imagine the seasoning and the shrimp change the flavor of the soup a bit.
Melissa the pan at 1:58 what is the brand name on it please I'd be interested in trying to find some? This was the cookware I grew up with in the Midwest but none of us know what happened to mother's pans like these. Our parents received them as a wedding gift we believe the 2nd set she used had copper bottoms called Revere ware I think. Thank you for your reply and I'm also sorry for your loss, glad you made it home safely. :)
Hammercraft....I found it at a thrift store and bought it becaue my grandma had one just like it. Sorry it took so long to get back to you, each time I got up to see what kind of pot that was I forgot what I was going to the kitchen for by the time I got there...LOL
@@astheroostercrows6435 Thank you I look in thrift shops too but never see any in my area. I love a lot of the pans you use plus all the cast iron which we do too. I hear ya on forgetting going to the next room LOL
Yes but you are not going to eat the whole shrimp mold in one sitting. There are 20 carbs in the whole can, there are probably more than 20 servings in the whole shrimp mold.
@@astheroostercrows6435 i follow joe and his son. how did you and joe meet and how are you doing with the extreme weather change from LA to MN. I dont think i could do it. i love the heat way to much
Melissa? You *may *want to be careful, I have heard that saying "pork rinds" in the North is considered a capital offense! I hope you and Joe can finally get some quality "at home" time coming up here, seems like you have both been on the road for a dog's age!

Looks great. Gonna put a Cajun twist on it to have for Easter appetizer. Looks like Joe needs to spread out some gravel. I need to do myself.
I see you use my brand of mayo, Blue Plate. Love it!

That's interesting!
Looked so good. I am not a fan of tomato soup. Is there anything else I could use?
I had no idea it had tomato soup in it until my mom gave me the recipe a few years ago. You dont taste it at all
Could you use a food processor for the shrimp?
I don't see why not
Just saw Paula Deen did
Blue Plate Mayonnaise is the best. I would marry you.

Can you buy the Blue Plate mayonnaise in MN or do you get it south and bring it back?
I buy it online at Walmart
