As a kid I rented this movie from the library...I didn't think it was going tobe so badass..one of the best 🍿🎥 movies I loved as a kid..still is badass..
Yeah we do; they’re actually released regularly. Dragged Across Concrete, Brawl In Cell Block 99, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, Nobody, John Wick trilogy, Rambo: Last Blood all come to mind - all of these American movies came out in the last few years and are chock full of tough guys. There are dozens more like these!
“Six Soldiers, officially heroes, officially dead. A private army on the wrong side of the law. An American Drug Dealer with an Mexican army. Against a stone-age cowboy with a tin shield armed with a rifle and a pistol.”
Basically, Walter Hills homage to his mentor Sam Peckinpah. The machismo is almost tongue in cheek, but it's still a very entertaining 80s era actioner with great performances by Nick Nolte, Powers Booth and Rip Torn.
One of my fav films of the 80's. I totally forgot about this movie but I'd just finished watching a documentary about the US Special Forces that shot and killed Osama Bin Laden and something triggered my memory of this Walter Hill classic. I gotta get a copy of this film and watch it again.
@monksally Actually this music was composed by Mike Oldfield for another movie , released in 1985, called "The Killing Fields", about the civil war in Cambodia. The name of the track is "Evacuation" (i.e evacuation of the US embassy in besieged Phnom Penh, just before the Khmer Rouge's victory). The part you're looking for starts at 3:51.
Me too =) a pure 80's flick ,with awsomes actors , Clancy Brown , William Forsythe , Nick Nolte , Powers Booth and Michael Ironside directed by a great moviemaker , unfortunetely he don't make a good movie since severals years =/
Always thought this could of been the Walker Texas Ranger movie, Norris and Hill.... But the trailer was amazing, we have all thought about the Schwarzenegger and Stallone film of the 80s and the trailer to there film would of been set out like this....
Good Movie too bad ya can't find it any where too Buy! It!:-( to have I had it on vhs but that tape got ruined in the moving from one state too another! Very upsetting!
I think it didn't get the recognition in the credit they deserve because the military was sort of the bad guys and in the '80s all the action heroes had a look like they were the good guys..army heros
powers boothe was also acting in southern comfort. in the german movie recently on tv, nick nolte has the same voice as arnold schwarzenegger. drive.google.com/open?id=1_3TO4kcUsWmFB2R9UDI85EvpRthy4N31 the woman sarita is not depicted realistic. Those women are to watch in thelma and louise. it is disappointing they don't fight with fists or wrestle in the end
My ? Is what are all these great actors doing in this terrible movie? Was it because of the money 💵? An extreme box office disappointment. Budget 22 million Domestic gross $11 million.
*Cheesus, whole lotta gratin goin on, Walter Hill & this cast are badass, but this film looks really shite, the whole thing* *reeks of that proud american good o'l cowboy Clint eastwood's feet next to charles bronson's, American foot fetish* *feta cheese. Pass.*
One of the most overlooked and underated movies of that time.
What a film, what a cast from one the best directors around
This movie never got the credit that it deserved !!
Saw this in the theater in '87. Love Rip Torn's line, "The only thing worse than a child molester is a politician"
You mixed it up. It's: The only thing worse than a politician is a child molester!
Hi, it is 2022. Here to tell you, well, we got both of those all in one family-sized package now.
As a kid I rented this movie from the library...I didn't think it was going tobe so badass..one of the best 🍿🎥 movies I loved as a kid..still is badass..
Love bad ass action movies like this. We don't have American action movies like this anywhere that star real men being tough guys.
True.
Too many pretty boys and political correctness these days in Hollywood.

@@RobbieSkyeHamilton That’s true but they’re still not as many as there was in the 80s and 90s.
@@RobbieSkyeHamilton all those star guys that were big in the 90s. Where's the new action stars? Lol
RIP Powers Boothe.
Yes and Rip Torn and Tommy Lister Jr.
I havent seen this since I was a kid. Man was this just insanely over the top fun.
Need to buy this.
“Six Soldiers, officially heroes, officially dead. A private army on the wrong side of the law. An American Drug Dealer with an Mexican army. Against a stone-age cowboy with a tin shield armed with a rifle and a pistol.”
That's a better tagline than what was on the the original movie poster.
Film plots don't get any better than that!
I haven’t seen this movie for probably over 20 years. I just stumbled upon it now. Holy shit! I need to watch this again.
Basically, Walter Hills homage to his mentor Sam Peckinpah. The machismo is almost tongue in cheek, but it's still a very entertaining 80s era actioner with great performances by Nick Nolte, Powers Booth and Rip Torn.

Utter brilliance. Anybody knows the name of the tune playing over the trailer?
Wow. This is the NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN of its day...genetically spliced with DELTA FORCE 2: THE COLOMBIAN CONNECTION. I have to rent this. NOW.
I got to see some of the filming when I was young got to see Ironside awesome movie in my opinion.
Awesome movie.
"Tell the FBI to kiss my [machine gun blasting]" That is some sublime editing!
Also I just love the movie 👍
This really needs a Blu-ray or a 4K release!
Coming out 05/17/22
Your request has just been answered, I got the blu-ray recently.
@@Mammothx I picked it up!
@ 1:37 two Highlander villains and also the voice actors of Darkside & Lex Luthor in one action-packed movie

In my top 3 Walter Hill movies along with The Warriors and 48 HRS.
“Ordering the termination of an American peace officer, whose clearly to the country in a process of bringing a known criminal to justice.”
One of my all time favorite movies of the 1980s.. my favorite scene is the Mexican shootout, it’s like the Dirty Dozen and the Magnificent Seven.
@RitterVonBek68 beat me to it.
Great Walter Hill!!
Fantastic film.
3 actors of the dcau, Clancy brown aka lex Luthor, Michael Ironside aka darkseid and powers boothe aka gorilla grodd
I'm trying to model my 45 after the one Nolte uses in this film.
Wow Nick Nolte, Michael Ironside and even Clancy Brown.
Such an awesome trailer
Bad Ass Movie
I NEED THIS FILM!!!!!!
Better than overrated 'Wild Bunch', this is one of Walter Hill's greatest.
I believe this movie was tiny lister 1st movie debut.. he played Debo on Friday and wrestled as Zeus.
RIP the great Powers Boothe
Michael Ironside vs Nick Nolte?
WOW, I gotta see this =D
Spoiler alert: They never really go head-to-head against each other.
Billy badass action and then some. Fuckin love it to death. Especially the final shootout.
Fuck yeah. Classic
wow, what a cast
Always thought this could of been the Walker Texas Ranger movie, Norris and Hill.... But the trailer was amazing, we have all thought about the Schwarzenegger and Stallone film of the 80s and the trailer to there film would of been set out like this....
Nick Nolte, Powers booth, and Michael Ironside?!?!? So the got triplets to star in one movie. wow
Is the music that starts at 0:45 in the movie? Cause that sounds pretty bad ass 80s!
" I hurt my knee." " looks like you hurt your head."
Is this film good? I'm willing to give it a shot.
You see it yet?
Boxing Is My Love not yet, there's no streaming site that has it. It not even on iTunes.
@@justincrediblefantasy8263 damn I have a movie box. That's how I viewed it.

Michael Ironside was bad ass in this movie. Great flick.
these were my exact thoughts through the entire movie - he's literally dripping oil for 90 minutes.
It has absolutely nothing in common with No Country For Old Men...
only the border territories between tx and mexico,i suppose
Wheres Michael Ironside?
She was hot back in the day and this is a very entertaining movie to watch.
@monksally
Type "Mike Oldfield evacuation" (RUclips won't let me insert weblinks in my message).
Like I said, it starts at 3:51.

Hahaha brilliant! Machete before there even was machete!
"I expect a little cooperation."
"I expect you to stay outta ma way."
LOL! Would not be out of place on a Family Guy sketch.
I think it didn't get the recognition in the credit they deserve because the military was sort of the bad guys and in the '80s all the action heroes had a look like they were the good guys..army heros
I’d say it’s because it was very clearly a modern day western. Not a genre that was popular at the time. Things have changed since, thankfully.
lol 1:48 thats the warden in shawahank redemption
james lynch actually Clancy brown played Byron Hadley the prison guard in Shawshank redemption
