  • Here's a quick video of some KSG test firing footage to hold you over for the upcoming KSG review video which will cover everything you need to know!
    The KSG is a dual fed bull-pup pump action shotgun. It has two tubular magazines that hold 7 rounds each that you must manually switch between with a selector switch. Casings eject downwards.

    Kel-Tec this is amazing! let me tell you what I've seen in the last 10 years new models of old shotguns you paved the way in exciting innovation over the years from concealable firearms to universal bullpups. I have to say once again I am not disappointed I can only imagine the applications a gun like this could have in a military/police situation such as switching from a 00 buck to a rubber slug. Thanks again Kel-Tec and may your creativity never stop.

    I've got to get one. 14 rounds with the capability of instantly changing ammo type in a package that looks to be smaller than a 12" barreled 870. You guys really hit this one out of the park. Keep it up. This is exactly the sort of thing we want to see more of.

    A FANTASTIC design idea! Congratulations on some amazing creativity.
    One wish: Design an optional automatic magazine switch-over when the first mag empties. I wouldn't think it would be extremely difficult to come up with that.

    Fantastic concept! In addition your bullpup’s home defense length of 26.1 inches, your dual magazine tubes not only get around the 10 round California limit, but also allow two different types of ammo to be loaded and ready for immediate deployment (buckshot on the right, slugs on the left, no waiting!).
    Congratulations - just keep reliability and quality control goals at the top of your company's list, and you'll all do fine.

  • @morrisster

    info from keltec's website
    KSG weighs 6.9lbs and is as compact as legally possible with a 26.1" overall length and an 18.5" cylinder bore barrel. The internal dual tube magazines hold an impressive 14 rounds of 12 gage 2-3/4" rounds (7 per tube). The pump action feeds from either the left or right tube. The feed side is manually selected by a lever located behind the trigger guard.

    If you remove some of the material from the pump handle that shrouds the barrel you will have a open area at the front of the barrel where you can add some recoil reducing porting, seems to me this thing kicks like a mule, looks very light and quick to get on target but if you cant get a quick and accurate follow up shot it might just sit on the shelf and look pretty. Recoil reducing semiauto is a option too. Just a thought, love your handguns keep up the good work over there at Kel-Tec!

  • @The_Warrior526
    @The_Warrior526 13 лет назад

    The "Advanced " part comes in the fact that it's a bullpup so it's going to be even better for close-quarter situations. Then add to the fact that it has TWO tube magazines in it making it have a magazine capacity of 14 rounds (15 when you have one in the chamber already). Go find a single magazine that holds 14 rounds and you'll screw your close-quarters capabilities to the point of having to stay out in an open field with it and causing it to have to swing too slowly.

  • @MrBonez1092
    @MrBonez1092 13 лет назад

    @DShere
    It can shoot shotgun slug rounds
    In fact, you can load one tube with slugs, and the other with buckshot (each tube holds 7), and if you want to switch, all you have to do is flick the switch and pump in the new round

  • @hibob841
    @hibob841 13 лет назад

    @moshpitmachine It's actually considered two seven-round magazines, because you have to manually switch between them. Under the law, it's the same as taping two magazines together; which is to say, totally legal.
    You are correct that "evil features" rules apply to semi-automatic weapons with *detachable* magazines. Pump guns and semi-autos with tube (fixed) magazines can have pistol grips, vertical grips, flash hiders, etc. with no problem.

    @AdmiralGST
    Rather than a plate that raises the shell to be chambered, a downward ejecting SG has 2 small arms that sit flush with the inside walls of the receiver, giving the spent shell a clear path downward. The arms then swing in toward the center and act as a standard lifer for the fresh shell being chambered.

    I've always been interested in the neostead 2000, so naturally this gun caught my attention. The only thing I'm not liking is the distance from the trigger to the switch to change the magazine feed side. I know that most consumers run into this situation, but it seems having to remove your hand from the trigger or from the foregrip to change sides could endanger the user. Maybe move it to somewhere more thumb friendly, kind of like the safety. I look forward to shooting, and maybe buying one.

  • @spindlystrand
    @spindlystrand 13 лет назад

    @1antennaman It isn't meant to be a combat shotgun. In fact, Kel Tec made sure to make it legal for civilian use, but it is also used for riot control. I mean, it's already 800 dollars, I don't think more metal would have helped that much since it isn't going to be used in a battle field, it's going to be used in a house. By the way, there are public specs out there if you Google them, they seem pretty normal for a home defense shotgun.

    This is an awesome design. Please make sure you work out all design flaws and don't skimp on craftsmanship / quality material this design is awesome but serious shooters will only buy it if it's a well built quality weapon. It's a very interesting design for sure, and it does have its uses. The two magazine tubes are my favorite feature, imagine being able to select what type of ammunition you need for a situation. Buckshot for unarmored targets in one tube, slugs in the other. It's a damn shame they're sold out everywhere, Kel-Tec needs to bring the supply up to the demand or they'll lose revenue. I don't think it will replace my Mossberg 500(I love it too much) but it will be an interesting range toy.

  • @SpencerAK74M
    @SpencerAK74M 13 лет назад

    @Clavsicus No the aren't. Magazines are a self contained unit holding a spring, follower, and ammunition. Clips are a simple piece of metal that hold the bullets, i.e. Garand clips, stripper clips.... etc.

    Looks pretty awesome, and the AA-12 is one of the most well manufactured pieces of military hardware ever made, it's got so little recoil you can fire it one handed, you can submerge it in water and it still fires fine and they make a 32 round drum mag for it, what's not to like?

  • @foreverthreepwood
    @foreverthreepwood 13 лет назад

    I really do like the bullpup concept regardless of caliber but having it in 12 gauge is a excellent idea. I only have one suggestion tho. How about some kind of a buffer to help absorb some of that recoil?Isn't that one of the biggest gripes with 12gauge shotguns??? I couldn't agree more with keeping the cost down on this thing and Keltec usually does good with that. But if you could keep it under $700 AND have a functional buffer that would truly set this shotgun apart from all the rest.Thanks

    The ksg looks like it needs a AR style bead/foresight sleave for the front of the barrel, just to make it viable out-of-the-box . It''s not like you can just use a "hidden" bead in the middle of the rail, as its too low - when you have a solid cheek weld. Flip-ups/ lasers, etc. could still be aftermarket upgrades. Just my 2 cents.

    @KelTecWeapons Precious little room inside the butt-stock of ANY bull-pup type weapon so,yeah,you certainly have a point.The only real way you could go is with the butt-stock pad being extended to absorb more of the recoil like you stated.Maybe i'll try cutting a small section of my wifes fancy memory foam mattress out and gluing it to my future new toy ;) I know you've heard this already but GREAT job on a WONDERFUL design.One that looks to be really difficult to critic.Thanks for the response

    The is a bullpup where as the AA-12 is a "conventional" design. AA-12 feeds from box mags\drum, KSG feeds from twin tube mags. The list goes on... As far as rivaling the AA-12 & similar platforms (USAS, Saiga) it's all a matter of opinion IMHO. Pump vs. select fire, weight, dimensions, ammo management, manual of arms, class III vs. cali legal, once again the list goes on & on.
    On a slightly off topic note however... Imagine the KSG with FRAG-12 rounds. *looks at Kel-Tec*

    That fore-end looks to be a handfull and a half for people with average sized hands. Also with the smooth sides on that fore-end is there a chance that someones hand could slip as they racked forward and end up in front of the muzzle?? The addition of the fore-grip seemed to help. I really like the gun and will wait to see what the "street price" settles in at and any final modifications before I decide to jump.

  • @iropeadope
    @iropeadope 13 лет назад

    Not being critical but the recoil seems rather stout. Don't think its a weight issue. Its listed at 6.9lbs, Remington 870 is listed at 7.5lbs so not much weight difference between the two. Factor in the extra amo and weights almost the same. Wonder if the lack of stock adds to the perceived increased recoil. Either way can't wait to fire one.

    How about changing the design to allow a flashlight to be installed in place of one magazine cap and a laser on the other. Even if you had to lengthen the barrel and tubes a little it would be worth it. It would really look bad ass with an internal laser/light. Use the three dot (triangle) laser like the predator movie :)
