It is close, I would say it depends, are they at there peak? Or time? In return of the Jedi, you can tell Vader was not trying his full self, Rogue one, the comics, etc. showed how intense he is when he is angry, he knew it was his son, and he held back, when Luke turned angry, he focused on defense, but he could have choked him, lifted him, and done more. In Vader’s prime, he conquered armies, and stormtroopers did little back then. However, in Luke’s prime, which is The Mabdalorian or Bona fett, Luke trained more, and Ashoka spent a lot of time with Luke, and could have taught him more dueling techniques, or ways of the force Anakin taught her. But again, Vader in his prime is overpowered, I would say it would go either way. Strength, durability, power, battle IQ, and offense if Vader. Luke has speed, agility, IQ, and dueling is Luke. Abilities are tied, since the dark side has abilities Luke doesn’t have, and since Darth has mostly dark abilities, there are powers Luke has, Vader doesn’t use. It’s 50/50 Vader having a lot more killing techniques, strength, and experience. But Luke is in a much better head space, his speed is better, and he doesn’t have a suit, so his endurance is better, but durability is better. That’s just me tho, you made a lot of good points. Plus with Luke, he doesn’t have better experience, but Palpatine controls Vader, and doesn’t want him at full potential other wise he could become powerful enough to beat him. Luke was trained by Obi-Wan, even as a ghost, and Yoda. Those two are overpowered, and taught everything they knew to Luke. Good video! Permission to repost? Well done! God bless you! :)
In Return Of The Jedi Vader was the one going fully out and using his anger, and Luke was the one holding back, here's some official statements for you: "Brutally, aggressively, Darth Vader brings his full strength against the younger man." "This is the battle of equals." "But if the son holds any reluctance at the clash, the father seemingly does not. Darth Vader presses forward." "-if it came, at last, to blows, yes, he would destroy Luke. He could no longer afford to hold back, like he once had." "But if winning meant he had to kill a boy who wouldn't fight... then he could do that, too." Vader was using his full power against Luke, and in the movie, he throws the lightsaber going straight at Luke's head, and Luke has to avoid it in order to survive. The point when Vader gets conflicted is when Luke went into hiding, but that was not a very big conflict and he would've lost to a rage amped Luke anyways, since rage amped Luke is above ROTJ Sidious as stated, and here's a statement from the novel that literally says Luke could kill the emperor if he wanted to: "He could destroy the Emperor, too. Destroy them both, and rule the galaxy." and another one: "Luke looked at his own hands - free, now, to reach out for the Emperor's throat, to crush his windpipe in an instant."
@@darthbbqreborn ruclips.net/video/gYao-_Day9c/видео.html It doesn''t make any sense that Vader was going all out in that fight. Even before the fight Luke said that he feels conflict in him. Any form of Luke post-Mando is better in terms of defense, offense, and force power and possibly strength. Obi Wan trained Luke in form 3 so he could actually defend, which was Anakin's weak trait. Mando Luke actually reached his full potential in the force compared to Anakin. Vader was a stronger offensive warrior than Anakin, yet an angry Luke in ROTJ overpowered him while mirroring his father's form V from their Bespin fight. So I'd give him offense also.
