Best arc imo is the Jinchuu Arc. But since most people don't like reading manga, Kyoto is the next best thing. Jinchuu Arc both tackles Kenshin's past and Kenshin's biggest heroic bsod, as well as even more character development for Yahiko and Sanosuke. Many people raised Trust and Betrayal OVA, little did they know that it was actually just a part of Jinchuu Arc. If this arc is successful, we may get a real Jinchuu arc adaptation for the first time sometime 2026.

PLEASE let this anime get to adapt the full story of the original manga. As awesome as the Kyoto arc is, the Jinchu arc is what brings everything full circle and makes Kenshin's journey feel truly complete. As a hardcore fan of the original anime and manga who was deeply impacted emotionally by Rurouni Kenshin's plot & themes, this IP is special to me. I fell in love with it over a decade before learning about the controversy with Nobuhiro Watsuki. As horrible as that news was, in my opinion, this story is bigger than the sins of its creator and deserves at least one adaptation that faithfully translates these characters & sagas into animation. The live-action films had a lot of heart but didn't quite cut it for me.
@@Justmyhandle No, the original one was animated when the manga is still running and ended before the manga even finished its serialization. The animation production committee could not keep up with the manga and had to resort to anime original fillers after the the Kyoto arc ended.

I'd even settle for this new anime + the original manga profitting and thriving in pop culture without him seeing a penny in royalties or getting one iota of positive recognition. But cancelling any/all Rurouni Kenshin-related projects on grounds of sticking it to Watsuki and those associated with him won't change anything for the better, nor would it change the past. The new anime is cancelled. The manga is pulled from all commercial sales worldwide . Anyone who so much as breathes Kenshin's name again, let alone expresses praise for it, is shamed as a fan of a p*do (even when you know full well that's not the case). The IP eventually disappears into obscurity like other media deemed by the majority as "problematic". *B)* The fandom continues to love, praise, and support Rurouni Kenshin (and ONLY Rurouni Kenshin) while condemning Watsuki and only ever acknowledging him as the series' creator when it's absolutely necessary as nothing more or less than a fact of history. The story, characters, and themes are celebrated for their artistic merit while Watsuki is shamed and his crimes pointed out with full transparency to remain in the public eye until the industry ideally gradually distances itself from him. I'd personally rather take the path that leads to Kenshin remaining beloved while the taint of Watsuki's association with it is mitigated as much as reasonably possible. I fully admit to some bias here because I'm an outspoken & unapologetic fan. But I also believe in separating art from the artist whenever necessary even if it will never be accomplished or agreed upon universally. Again, in my mind, my relationship with the Rurouni Kenshin franchise throughout most of my life begins and ends with Rurouni Kenshin's STORY. No more, no less.

As an old fan of rurouni kenshin finished both anime classic and the manga i do hope they consider using some of noriyuki asakura tracks like the last wolf suite
As much as I love the old OST, I don't think that's possible. They would need to acquire the rights of the old soundtrack and that's not an easy or cheap task to do.

This anime has lost the creative visual of the original “it’s edgy look of the previous anime”. I enjoy the vibrancy of this one but feels like I’m watch the Pokemon anime team handle combat. The directing in this anime doesn’t make any of the panels in the anime better or complement it.

That's really my only problem with this new adaptation. Is so faithful to the manga and i love it but Asakura OST is what i really missed.
As much as I love the old OST, I don't think that's possible. They would need to acquire the rights of the old soundtrack and that's not an easy or cheap task to do.
