When my mother had cancer, she chose hospice care instead of treatment. She wanted to live in the moment and splash out for the first time in her life, and that included shopping at Whole Foods for practically all her groceries (and lots and lots of wine). She ended up living v comfortably and carefree for almost two years 😊
Totally understand your mums thinking, enjoying the time she had how she wanted. I was my mums carer b4 she passed and cooked all her meals. She often said to me at dinner time, she wanted her dessert first. I said mum you can eat what you want in whatever order you want, its your choice. My mum was 81 when she passed and i was just happy that she enjoyed what i prepared, so i didnt care what she wanted to eat first.
“ I know what a baked potato is, I’m not an idiot “ hilarious and typical, wonderfully delightful Hannah 😂❤
I don't know what it is but there is something so relaxing about watching Hannah food shop! 🙌🏽👏🏽
Glad you enjoy it!
It’s interesting how like me Hannah can shop cleverly in low budget stores like Aldi. But hey every now and again we feel decadent in our spending. And suddenly splurge every now and again. Note she examined the Hand made chocolates 🍫, sometimes we have a drive out to Orton , twixt Tebay & Kirkby Steven to visit Kennedy’s Hand made chocolate shop and Cafe Restaurant . Our grandsons used to take a lolly stick because we bought them a fresh fruit puréed chocolate lined ice cream milk shake to take away. Last week fed up of economising , I had a splurge and bought the biggest box of their Home made chocolates. But what the heck . And of course our milk shake . The daughter always orders a box of Kennedy’s hand made chocolates on Fathers Day. Kennedy’s also have a shop nearby in The Lake District . But it’s the milk shakes we need to indulge in too.
Her voice is so relaxing
They call it” whole paycheck” here in the US!
Love your retail tours🛍
Came to say the same LOL
Yep!
@@nywvblue That's so funny because I came to say EXACTLY the same thing. I'm surprised they don't charge an admission fee and charge an exit fine if you didn't buy anything.
In the UK its a tiny chain
@@matthewpoole7752 I don't know for sure, but I think there is only 1 here in Las Vegas, NV and it's really small. Have no idea how many in the entire United States of America.
Whole Foods is considered expensive in the U.S. too. But I agree that food is generally a bit cheaper in the UK. However buying a home, heating a home, buying Gasoline, and buying electronic items like an iPhone, a PS5, or even a TV is generally quite a bit more expensive in the UK compared to the U.S. 🙂
Come to Florida, everything is expensive here.
Cause there are approx 25%-30% taxes on Items like phones and laptops in UK
and tech is considered relatively cheap in the UK compared to most of Europe
@@Ollyartandcraft123 20% VAT on the items you've mentioned.
I don't know how often you buy a TV or PS, compared to food. I think you will find buying iphone is about the same, but importantly contracts are way cheaper in the UK. That is from RUclipsrs who split their year between the two countries so I think they would know.
Here in the USA, we call it “Whole Paycheck” cause it is really expensive. I usually shop in Whole Foods for the natural Health and Body care and maybe an exotic treat I can’t find in our regular grocery stores. I found your Whole Foods had a ton of American products then I expected , like the Brianna’s Salad Dressing.
Whole Paycheck!! That's brilliant! Why hadn't I thought of that one?! Greetings from Texas 😊
@@GavinsMarineMom Greetings from Seattle!
No it’s not a saying in the USA it’s a quote from the comedian Sebastian Maniscolca. Look him up his skit regarding the whole Foods store.
@@helenshack2838 Thanks - will watch after this!
@@marybourke7652 we use it here in Canada too, like lets go to Whole Paycheck
Nobody can do a supermarket shopping trip like Hannah, absolutely brilliant, that is why I would never try. I wish we had a Whole Foods in Birmingham it would be wonderful. I just cannot believe the choice one has. I must say when you left the supermarket I did notice the £549 bottle of wine in your back pocket😂😂😂
Having been to the big Whole Foods supermarket in Kensington High Street I can tell you it's overrated. The food isn't very fresh, in fact I saw plenty that was "on the turn" as it were. Most of what they sell is waaaayyyy overpriced or you could make yourself at home for a lot less. Not impressed at all.
Thanks so much! haha, I couldn't imagine even pouring a glass!
I bought some pastries from that branch of Ole and Steen. They were expensive and absolutely rank. Even the reheated frozen pastries in supermarkets were better. I find a lot of these chic establishments flatter to deceive.
@@egbront1506 😰😰
It was actually reasonable. M and s is far more expensive.
As an American preparing to becoming a digital nomad in the UK and several EU countries I love that you show the prices of groceries and various consumer items in your videos which is helpful for getting a general idea of the COL, at least in London.
Compare to living in Manhattan or San Francisco. Electric is expensive but food can be less. Depends on your pay packet.
Glad it was helpful!
People not living in the UK need to keep in mind the exchange rate to their own currency so what may seem "cheap" isn't. I think the last time I looked (quite a while ago) to convert Canadian $ to UK $ you doubled the amount. So, 6 pounds for 2 cupcakes is $12 CDN, that full octopus would be about $120 CDN and that 547 pound wine would be over $1000. Just some perspective.
Still looks yummy and tempting though LOL>
Exchange rates are making us Brits sad at the moment!
I looked up the AUD$ equivalent, and at the moment £5 is nearly $9.00 , so yes pretty expensive.
Angel food cake with sugared strawberries and cool whip is my favorite dessert ever!
my favorite grocery items are goat milk, kale chips, coconut water, kefir, almond butter, pistachio butter,Puck cream cheese, Ovaltine malt drink powder chocolate , Indomi noodle , Nido milk powder , Nesquick choco powder and dulce de leche
LOL That was super entertaining! The Whole Foods stores here in the US are normally not that large. At least here in CA. It had WAY more than we normally find, very interesting to see. Yours does seem very "American" in look and foods sold compared to stores I've shopped in London. It's definitely one of the most expensive food stores here, whereas Aldi is probably the cheapest. This was a delightful video, thank you!
Whole Foods has a mix of big and small stores, it just depends on the market/neighborhood. All of the newer stores are pretty big.
@@bradleyshort1009yeah we have ones comparable in size here in the San Francisco Bay Area, so I'm surprised that kiltedluxury hasn't seen ones that size. The company is based in Austin, Texas. 🙂
Oh Hannah how I love your commentary… no matter how down I ever feel you just make me laugh out loud. Absolutely love ur videos.

Very interesting and amusing video today Hannah.
American supermarket food prices are nuts. It was $4 for a load of bread in Colorado. I went to Safeway to get what would be my usual picnic sandwich items. At the time those items would set me back tenner in the UK. I'd got about ¾ of what I wanted and did a quick tally. The cost was up to $35. I had to start putting things back for the first time since I was a student. It was SO DEPRESSING! ☹️
My biggest shock as an American when living and working in Britain a few years ago, was how cheap food in the shops was over there. Here I thought the US was the breadbasket of the world.
@@rayk48 It used to be the other way around, yes. When I visited the US in 1990 everything was much cheaper than in the UK.
" I went to Safeway to get what would be my usual picnic sandwich items. At the time those items would set me back tenner in the UK. I'd got about ¾ of what I wanted and did a quick tally. The cost was up to $35"
That's wild, it would be far cheaper here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Colorado is a remote state with very few people living there, perhaps that is why. More people live in the San Francisco Bay Area than in the entire state of Colorado! 😲 At the local grocery store in my corner of Silicon Valley, a sandwich, chips and a drink is $12 or so, which is about 10 pounds sterling. 🙂
@@neutrino78x that meal deal in the UK is capped at £3.50 nationwide, although the US sandwich is probably twice the size as ours to be fair.
Only some of the Whole Foods around me in LA have those larger cheese sections. Fun fact: My sister works part time in WF during the holidays in the cheese and wine section. She's our holiday cheesemonger and she brings home so much amazing cheese, breads, crackers, olives, jams and spreads on the days she works. It's almost too much of a good thing!
My local Whole Foods doesn’t have such a large cheese section either, and I don’t think they’ve restored the hot food bar since Covid. The bakery is for sure much smaller in my store! I’m in LA too.
I am a Brit who has been living in. Austin Texas for 20 years. I remember when going to WholeFoods was not the corporate giant it is now
Another great vlog....your smile and laugh are contagious. I love Whole Foods and we have a number of them here in North Dallas. But, they have a competitor, Central Market, that nips them at the post when it comes to the variety of fresh meats, and seafood, as well as bottles of plonk. So, I need to spill some beans here. I watch your vlogs prior to having my team's weekly closeout meeting. The participants either join me in the conference room or on an MS Team's session. Post-meeting we go to a bar/pub or restaurant. All 15 people now watch your vlog as I play it pre-meeting. We have now added a bit of a who buys the first round based on the number of times Hannah uses the following phrases - "Oh My Gosh", "Are You Joking", and "Beige Bits". Whoever is furthest from the actual number of uses of the phrase they pick buys the first round. I usually go for "Oh My Gosh" because I love the way you say it. So next vlog - please sneak in 4 uses of the Oh My Gosh!! 🙂Thanks for the time and effort!
I was expecting an "Oh my gosh!" when she saw those three police with MACHINE GUNS walk by. Or even a "WTF" 3:16
I say it all too much sorry! but thanks for watching, real appreciate it
What a wonderful shop... thank you for taking the time to make this for us!
Amazing video! I’m so glad you’re back, and I really enjoyed the tour around the store. You must need a lot of self-discipline to shop in there with so many different items to choose from! I really enjoyed watching😊
Omg I think about Sky Gardens atleast once a week lol that place was magical! 😊Whole foods Kensington was the first WFs I ever visited, thanks so much for the vid Hannah! ❤
Thank you, thank you Hannah for going to High Street Ken (used to live there) and now showing my age, I was astonished to hear the Roof gardens are gone but going even further back, those gardens were just the top floor of the store Biba (no, not the one Mary Austin worked at) anyway was also lovely back then. The building whole food is in used to be a department store called Barkers. High Street Ken really has had huge changes, but I do love to go back from time to time. Anyway a big thank you for this lovely video, always look forward to Friday’s to see where you take us.
I miss London so much watching this
I live around there too. At the time our rental was £17 per week between 4 of us in Queensgate Terrace!
Hello Hannah, I'm Canadian and have been to Whole Foods in Toronto because I was curious about the hype and also found the products to be very expensive. They seem to have more variety at your UK store. In any case, I never shop there (went in out of curiosity) you can get many of their offerings at a lower price at other stores. To each his own!
I was at a Whole Foods in California about 10 years ago and was not impressed. This store looked AMAZING. I think I would be overwhelmed by the choices. I shop Aldi too as well as one of our local chains. Love the High Street Kensington area.
I agree, the Whole Foods here are not nearly as nice !
After a few weeks of watching your channel I have now subscribed. My elderly mother thinks your funny and I just ❤️ your smile.
Thanks Hannah for the tour of Whole Foods, or as some here in Texas refer to it as, "Whole Paycheck"!!! It is always interesting to see your UK perspective on things like grocery shopping, as well as the other clothing, department stores, etc. As usual Hannah, your insights are very entertaining, as well as informative! Have a great week, & look forward to next Friday!
This is the best food store I have ever seen. This didn't exist in 99/2000 when I lived close by in bayswater! Great vlog Hannah, can't believe how much the food scene had changed since I lived in London. Love from Oz
Just got back from two weeks in the UK and as an American, we were so amazed by all the grab n go options. We have a small section in our local supermarket but nothing to compare to the options you have. 🎉
I thought you could grab and gi anything in sjw libby frisco type cities in us
I noticed that too. Good selections of fresh sandwiches and sides and pastries and ready-made food. M&S was my absolute favorite.
Makes me wonder what happens when some food isn’t sold.Looks delicious.Maybe they could have a discount Friday😂
Hannah, you really know how to make such a captivating vlog!!! By the way, I like so much when you make vlogs about food stores, cause you always show us so many cool and interesting products. And how amazing are all those breads, cakes and foods you showed us. Indeed so yummy! That's why you and your youtube channel are the best! Have a wonderful day and weekend! 😀🌹🌻💐👍

I live in Northern California and our Whole Foods aren’t as big or as nice. Hannah, thank you for showing us this amazing UK Whole Foods!
'Kensington' where this Wholefoods is, is a very ritzy town! Hence the upscale look.
Delicious food, great variety! I agree with you dear Hannah! Food in the UK is expensive.
Here in South-Africa food is also expensive, but interestingly, our meat products are not at all expensive and it is of the highest quality in the world.
Fast Foods are very expensive for the average person and is considered “a treat”.
Also we call Whole Foods here in the US “Whole Paycheck”.
Yep yep yep!🤭
It’s not expensive in USA
@@SCLana compared to a Maybach, no. But compared to regular grocery stores , absolutely, yes, Whole Foods is expensive.
A top video from you, what an amazing assortment of foods! Not having gone to a Whole Foods here in the US I don't know how the UK compares to our stores but just hearing how happy you get when you're browsing the food section brings a smile to my face. Where does all that food go, certainly not in that slim figure of yours. 😄❤
Watching the Whole Foods video and when you got to the cut up watermelon and price I just had to check my container! Here on Long Island NY ( in the most expensive county of NY ) the container was 5.99 a pound so basically the same given the exchange rate at the moment. Whole foods is not known for being the " whole paycheck" store for nothing . LOL But I must say their quality is SO MUCH better than your typical supermarket. If you buy their 365 brand it's better food at a comparable price. AND if you are an Amazon Prime member you get 5% off your order! Thanks Hannah keep these videos coming ...just LOVE you ! Your American fan across the pond !
thanks for watching!
Whole Foods here in the US is too pricey for me, but it is fun to browse and see what they have. Sometimes you find something interesting that you don’t see anywhere else. If it’s something chocolate, it’s coming home with me! Probably. That Valrhona chocolate, definitely, and callebaut if they had that! Always love the grocery/food shopping vlogs, and bonus fashion bit! Very fun video, thank you, Hannah!
Hi Hannah! What a marvellous video! Those prices seems to be similar as they are in ordinary supermarket here in Finland, so yeah... our food is ridiculously expensive. Meat seems to be even cheaper in Wholefoods than here. And of course electricity, water and rents are expensive too. Enough complaining, thanks again for showing what´s going on in there. Keep up the good work :) Have a nice and cosy autumn.
I’m only a few minutes in the video. I am from the States. I holiday in England every year. I thought it was very funny you mentioned people from the States complaining about your “cheap” food prices. It is true, but it is the Only thing cheaper than the States🤣🤣. This is the first video of yours I have seen. I so love the UK. I was there in June and feel “home sick” to go back
A US citizen here. I was in that store 3 years ago. I loved it 😍 Whole Foods is pricey over here too - but they have items you can’t get anywhere else 😋
It is fun seeing High street, the flower market across the street at the church! Thanks for doing this video 👏🏻
I love Whole Foods. Everything is fresh, and the service is great.
Watching this from Phoenix Arizona while waiting for my Whole Foods order to be delivered 😂 Grocery prices in Phoenix have gone up a lot, so WF prices aren’t that different from the standard stores. I know I could spend less but I’d have to shop around at several stores to find everything so WF ends up being the most convenient. I’m far from rich, but this is my bit of luxury I guess. I’m amazed at the selection you have there. My WF seems tiny by comparison.
Speaking as a 22 year old male, you are honestly the only female RUclipsr i watch, my girlfriend get annoyed when i watch your videos for some reason 😅
Its very strange for your gf to get annoyed given the type of content this lady makes😕

I always enjoy grocery store videos, but I enjoyed this one even more. The drama of those excessive prices was a joy to experience! We don't have Whole Foods here. I wish we did! Not that I could afford to be a regular, but I would drop in now and then to pick up a little something. Brilliant video and thank you for posting it!
I use to do that when I go to Richmond. I would always stop by whole foods. Buy cookies or teas or get some food to go. I love it and miss it and i wish there was one in Kent but nah haha.

What, you're from the City of Kent, in the State of Washington, and you fly down here to the San Francisco Bay Area to shop in Richmond, California? That's a 777 mile (1250 km) trip! 😲
Oh you're probably talking about Kent, UK and perhaps there is a Richmond over there as well. lol 🙂

"es there is a Richmond in England too."
lmao I looked it up and it seems Kent and Richmond are basically suburbs of London.
lol. We have a New London in the USA, it is across the Thames River from Groton in Connecticut. (one of the 13 original states.)
I went to Basic Enlisted Submarine School and Sonar "A" School at Groton Submarine Base. It's technically "New London Submarine Base" but if you ask people in the area, they will be confused, because New London is across the river, and is where the Puddle Pirates (the Coast Guard lmao) have their academy.
The submarine base is known colloquially as Groton...."the submarine capital of the world." lol 🙂
I'm surprised Kent in the State of Washington is not called "New Kent" and Richmond here in the Bay Area is not called "New Richmond".
But I believe there is also a Richmond in the State of Virginia. 🙂
Loved watching this the day after my 12 hour waiter shifts! Relaxing ❤
Wow your Whole Foods looks way better & larger than the nearby Whole Foods in our neighborhood! I'm quite jealous actually. We used to get their ready made food & soups every now and then, but it was just ok. Healthy, but nothing fabulous. Still fun to shop there on occasion. Thanks for taking us along as always. Much love from Fort Worth, Texas! 😊🧀🍷
THIS video was EVERYTHING! Overwhelmed by all the Greatness. ALSO, love love your nails, best look 😍
Hello Hannah! Its Friday and it's great to see you! That Ole & Steen coffee shop looks like winner, with such a lovey atmosphere as well as delightful array of bakery items. Beige bits? I'd bet their coffee is delicious. Impressive coverage Hannah! I have a Whole Foods in my area, though it's not quite as expansive as this store. Among all the rest, Whole Foods is known for premium produce. I used to go there regularly and top off my visit with a double shot of wheat grass juice. An acquired taste to be sure! LOL! I think I'll make a point of popping in again soon. Please, do take good care, Hannah love. See you next week!😉
Thanks for watching Dale!
What you have to point out is that Whole Foods is an organic market - hence the prices. When you put it into that perspective, it’s still pricey but compare the range of choice to organic goods in other supermarket chains.
Hi Hannah, another great food vlog. I have to say I was not shocked at the cost. Here in Australia food is expensive and the cost.of living is high. I paid $5 yesterday for a standard loaf of mixed grain bread and another fiver for a standard bar of Cadbury peppermint chocolate not on special, sooo if you are talking about pocket pinch just do your weekly shop here then you will feel the pain. All as I can say is thank God for Aldi. A loaf of mixed grain bread there yesterday $2.98 but they had no stock. Cheers from Melbourne 😊❤👩💼
I love food stores and grocery shopping videos😍please make more videos like this 🤩i'm really enjoy watching this

You’re getting me ready for our trip to the Uk/Europe April 2023. When you went past the drinks cupboards my husband saw Coopers pale ale it’s made where we live, he’s happy 😂 Gina, Adelaide, South Australia. We’d still like to do a picnic from Harrods but we are def more waitrose/tesco people
I live about an hour from the nearest Whole Foods in Kansas City (middle of the US) and the prices are similar to this one, but this London store is probably 3-4 times the size. It’s clearly aimed at the wealthy folks living in that part of London, as well as international residents and American tourists (we always stayed in S. Kensington area to be near the V&A). While traveling, we like to shop in local grocery stores and buying bits from Aldi, Tesco or Waitrose was cheaper and healthier than eating in a restaurant. Like you, we could never afford to do all of our shopping at Whole Foods!
Ole & Steen are the Danish version of Starbucks, but they started as a bakery, so pastries and cake are their forte, rather than the coffee. Not that Starbucks coffee is any good, really. They are everywhere here in Denmark, but they are called Lagkagehuset. The first one ever opened in the very posh neighbourhood of Christianshavn in Copenhagen, in a building that gave it its Danish name, because it looked like a layer cake. I used to live a couple blocks away, that's how I know so much about it😅😂
They need to open up in the States! Those sandwiches look delicious!
Love Whole Foods. Shop there couple times a week. Prices about the same as in other decent “cheaper” stores in Los Angeles, we have a bunch of more expensive stores like Gelson’s or Ewrehon. Glad WF opened in England. Prepped food is great, I was never disappointed.
Amazed at the selection of foods available compared to Australia bit expensive for my budget but great shopping vlog thank you.

Here in Texas, where Whole Foods began, the prices are as "high as a cat's back" (as my late Daddy used to say 😉). Most Wholefoods in the US aren't this big. Great episode 👏
Enoki musrhooms are used as a vegetable in east asian cooking, although they are not used in most dishes. Just place them in a soup for a couple of minutes and that's it. They're very strawy and fibrous so you need to eat them as a small bunch at one go.
Hi Hannah - greeting from New Zealand. I can tell you those truffle crisps that you picked up are worth the money. I buy a 40 g bag occasionally but I make them last four sittings because they are so expensive. And the olive oil biscuits are delicious too - especially if you get the orange-flavoured ones 😊 Have a great week!
Oh, Hannah, the chocolates you picked up from Valrhona are generally for baking, they're meant to be melted and tuned into chocolate mousse, ganache, and white chocolate in particular is a little bland because you usually pair it with flavors like matcha or raspberry, and it elevates that.
I melted some of it for a cake but was only ok!
Your new nail style looks better than the previous ones, being more natural
Looking at how good Whole Foods is, the competition in the UK -Waitrose really needs to improve! I went into a Waitrose recently (admittedly far from London in Okehampton Devon) and the store was really dirty and scruffy with loads of items off sale it looked nothing like this Whole Foods....M&S have also massively improved recently, Waitrose need to look at the competition! I really like that craft ale and chilled wine selection!!
Thank you for the Whole foods video. Good to know the buffets are back. Sad to know the food stalls, and restaurants upstairs aren't. Enjoy the food you bought. I'm sure it'll be delicious.

This Whole Foods is massive, even by Texas standards! 😂 I would agree, it seems even more expensive than Whole Foods here. Loved seeing this store. Thanks for taking us along!
I like Whole Foods, we have one where I live in Richmond (London Borough) however I’ve noticed a decline in variety of products since Amazon (who want to own the World) took over and since lockdowns it’s got a lot worse. Hopefully it will return to more like its former self in the not too distant future.

I think of Stuart Smalley's (Al Franken) daily affirmations when I shop Whole Paycheck. "I deserve it", I'm worth it", etc., 😅 I Feel blessed I can afford the periodic splurge on fancy oils, cheeses, meats, olives, etc 😋

I love cooking, and can cook most things from memory, if I don't know a recipe there are video's on RUclips. If I fill a trolly at Tesco it would be £140, Aldi/Lidl £90, Waiterose (Little basket) £50. Never Been to Whole Foods and just by watching your video I could easily fill a trolly in there costing £500 without passing the wine section at £550 a bottle. The food looks high end quality. Little tip, NEVER go food shopping when you are hungry. Awesome content, TY for the upload.
I don't know how you make supermarket browsing/shopping interesting but, you do. 11/10 for the on-screen ratings, outfits look great and shorts, who cares it's warm out.
I feel like for you and me buying cheese that came pre cubed would be kind of lazy, but it just really help elderly people, people with disabilities and busy parents and stuff. If they can't hold the knife safely or don't have the grip strength anymore, they could still eat it. Or if you have kids and it's busy, that helps with getting real food into your kids or having little kids serve themselves without having to micromanage everything they do around the kitchen.
Discovered you recently and just had to say how much I enjoy your videos,so normal and down to earth, Especially when you say you wouldn't know what to do with some of the food... brilliant
I do have to say Whole Foods do have a lovely fromagerie, even though everything is so super expensive. Its a very London experience. Love how Hannah compares the prices😊
Love your taste in food 😊 Very fun & helpful video as I'm relocating to London soon!
Hannah! I've only got to watch this now, but yay! Also, why would anybody take issue with the cost of things! We all know whats happening in the UK, and watch your vlogs because they're funny, well put together and frankly uplifting! The fact anybody would be critical in any way is bizarre, your great! Anyway Love Kensington, and the octopus was a bonus 😂🐙. Have a great coming week 👑🇬🇧🤍
I buy a container of different olives with sun dried tomatoes and peppers and whiz them in the food processor for a great tapenade!
🤣… I’ll drive the “ get away car” 🏎😬😳🤣… brilliant 😘❤️X
Quick FYI. White Claw is an alcoholic seltzer water beverage. It comes in different flavours. Hope that answers your question. 😊😊🙂🙂
If you shop carefully in Wholefoods and know your prices you can get some bargains. I used to go to that Wholefoods after my evening ballet class at the ENB (which is no longer there) and I miss it so much.
A great place for gifts, for a foodie, or putting together a gift basket or bowl. Here in Victoria BC, Canada, we go there for the rare treat. Our food here is very expensive in all of the grocery stores as we are situated on an island. Great video, thank you! 🍱
