Con piacere trovo il commento della gent. ELSA ASTA. Sono ancora una volta concorde sulle sue considerazioni sul tenore BONISOLLI. Ho avuto la fortuna di seguirlo in Arena in tante recite, (ero corista) e la posso assicurare non deludeva mai, era sempre al top, non lesinava mai i bis nei brani più celebri tipo '"DI QUELLA PIRA, /NESSUN DORMA, /CELESTE AIDA ecc.. Artista di grande personalità, carisma e simpaticissimo. Sarebbero tanti gli aneddoti da raccontare, in Arena lo conoscevamo come persona dal carattere fumantino!!!! Non le risparmiava mai a nessuno se lo riteneva necessario. Grande artista che assieme alla super MARIA CHIARA, entranbi non hanno avuto il giusto riconoscimento per i loro meriti artistici dai media. Why are we only hearing and seeing these recordings now, 20 years after his death? Back in the day I only knew him as a fine Manrico in von Karajan's Trovatore recording. I wondered where all his recordings were.

Bonisolli was not a dramatic tenor. He was a pure lyric. He is one of my favorite tenors and when he sung, one knew it was never going to be a boring performance. Bonisolli was always a sincere artist that gave his all in each performance!

However, his singing technique was solid and his marvelous voice carried well in the theater. Bjorling was a lyric tenor. Bonisolli was also a lyric tenor. Both of them sounded like spinto tenors at times, but in reality they were both lyric. Franco Corelli was a true tenore spinto, un fenómeno, a force of nature able to undertake even the most dramatic roles with great success. He had a voice much larger than both Bjorling and Bonisolli. Corelli could give you the power of thunder and at the same time he had the most amazing diminuendos. Like Pavarotti said: "Corelli had vocal chords of steel and it used to make Mario del Monaco (true dramatic tenor) crazy".

La nota finale di Bonisolli è stratosferica. Solo Lauri Volpi aveva acuti così luminosi. Oltretutto i tenori che eseguono il do all'unisono non possono certo controllare il volume e quindi in genere ricordano dei capponi sgozzati. Qui invece Bonisolli riesce a tenere la nota sotto un controllo perfetto. Cantante più unico che raro.

Beautiful from to of the greats. I hate it when the tenors go up. It's not written that way. When the tenor goes down to the E and the soprano goes up to the C. You hear both voices perfectly without overpowering each other. The tenor had his high C in his aria.

Carreras and Domingo were not even in the same league as Bonisolli: no insult to either of them, it's just the truth. Bonisolli was far greater than Corelli in terms of high notes in live performances, and other subtleties. Pavarotti had a far more beautiful voice than Bonisolli in my opinion, and Bjorling was incomparable and unique.
