UPDATE (3/7/24): As of now it appears for the most part issues with shipping delays and customer support have been resolved. Not all, but from what I'm hearing most new orders placed through Fanatec arrive in a timely manner. So at this point I'm confident enough to update and say it's safe to start ordering from them again.
Hey :) do you have any news comparing Fanatec & Moza? I think for me the 5nm will be just fine / i dont want to spent too much ^^ what brand would you recommend for an absolute noobie? 🙈 Best Dario
@@dario3215 I haven't used the Moza R5 which would be the direct competitor to the CSL DD 5nm but I am currently testing the R9. That competes directly with the 8nm version of the CSL. They both have their strengths and weaknesses. Buld quality and materials used on the Moza are better and feel more premium but Fanatecs software and force feedback are a bit better. That being said Moza updates the software regularly and I believe at some point soon they will be very similar on that front. Also Fanatec at the moment is having some financial problems and while personally I think they will be fine, their future looks a little uncertain at the moment so for those reasons I would say go with Moza currently. In the future my opinion may change but that's my feelings currently. Hope that helps!
@@dario3215I was between moza and fanatec as well and coming from the Logitech g29 I figured 5nm was enough and don’t get me wrong it is but I just bought the csl dd and I already want the boost kit so for that reason I’d go for the fanatec also the wheel that comes with the fanatec is bigger than the wheel that comes on the moza r5 and I hated how unrealistically small the g29 wheel was but this fanatec wheel size is so much more natural!! I think you’ll be happy with either
@@dario3215also looks like Corsair will be buying over fanatec so I imagine thing will be on the up for them now or at least I hope cause I just received my csl dd
Yeah I'm not sure why they don't but it's a big deal for me so I try and always mention it. I've used some pretty loud wheels in the past so I love that this one is basically silent!
@@tehMaloWaloHonestly I think it's worth mentioning because most people that would buy something like this never had a DD wheel so they also might not be aware of all the benefits DD brings.
I spent 4 years with a g29. I was not improving and getting pretty frustrated. I’ve spent a few hours with the CSL and it’s amazing! As soon as I got used to it, I’m beating my best lap times by 2 seconds on average. Trail braking finally feels right, the FFB makes sense and it’s QUIET. I’m waiting for the booster kit that bumps it up to 8nm, but the 5nm is actually really good. I almost bought a t300. So happy I waited! Go and do likewise, you not regret it for moment! Happy new year!
I got g29 and thinking about getting 8nm rdy to race. I think I pushed the g29 to the limit, wheel ain't really for sim racing more for casual driving etc..
@@Bosnianfear15 Get It!! The 5nm is more than enough by the way. I bought the booster power supply and it’s interesting. But I end up turning down the ffb anyway. The wheel feels like a real car. I could NEVER catch and correct oversteering in iRacing with a g29. The dd makes it easier to correct. IRL my car got sideways in the rain a few weeks ago and I naturally counter steered rolled on a bit of throttle and just kept going like it’s how I make every left turn. It’s worth it. I can’t imagine that if you like driving for fun or sport that it wouldn’t be a lot more fun.
Fantastic review. I really appreciate breaking it down simply into pros and cons for each item rather than a lot of "Reviews" you see where it is a 20-25 minute ramble about the product specs!
IMPORTANT: As of now (1/25/24) Fanatec is still having extreme issues with customer service and shipping. It is my RECOMMENDATION and WARNING at this point that if you do not absolutely NEED something from them right now, you should wait some time before placing any orders. As far as how long you should wait, I am uncertain how long it will take for them to get things back in order. Fanatec themselves have not been very transparent about this so I'm considering the timeline open-ended for now. I will leave this as the pinned comment until I feel like the situation has been fully resolved. If and when they get the issues worked out, I will remove this comment and give an update!
Yeah I don't ever remember them having an option for free shipping. The situation at the moment is beyond free shipping vs paid shipping. The type or price of shipping you choose seems to have no factor on the wait times and lack of customer service. If you are looking at a CSL DD bundle consider giving the Moza counterpart a look. I'm currently testing a Moza R9 V2 Bundle and it's pretty hard to tell the difference between that and the CSL DD 8Nm. I'm still early in testing but so far it seems the R9 has a slight edge in overall power and the CSL DD has a slight edge in smoothness and refinement of ffb. Both are fantastic though. The general build quality (especially the steering wheel) seems to be better on the Moza. If you are in a hurry consider the Moza. If you're not wait for the issues to get resolved with Fanatec and go with it! @@prestonasmar
This isn’t completely true. I just received a GT DD Pro 8Nm bundle, Load Cell and pedal kit within 2 weeks to the UK. Once delivery was confirmed on Monday this week I ordered a GT3 v2 and 2x metal QR1’s and received confirmation today that it will be delivered on Monday, so 7 days. I’m in the UK. I think a lot of the noise is to do with the overselling of the BF wheels and the delay in the license for the new PlayStation Clubsport base. I admit I was nervous when I ordered give. Al the noise at the moment, but I must say I’m glad I didn’t back out as the wheel is amazing and the quality top notch. The internet is great at making things some worse than it is. There is one guy on the Fanantec forum who is on there full time complaining that the BF wheel he ordered is delayed as they took too many orders.
That's great to hear you got yours timely! Hopefully that's a sign things are getting better! They are certainly fantastic products! No doubt about that! @@theamateurguitarist6187
Not sure what you mean by problems with shipping? I pre ordered mine back in December with availability date of the 26th of Jan. It arrived today the 29th of Jan. I'm in the UK though.
Just because Fanatec is releasing two new awesome wheelbases soon doesn't mean the CLS DD isn't worth purchasing anymore. In fact I still think it's one of the best options on the market! Especially when purchased in a Ready2Race bundle! Are you currently using a CSL DD? Let us know you're thoughts!
Wow never knew they were making a new wheelbase. Is this going to replace the CSL DD? Was about to purchase one but might hold off if they're releasing a new one shortly.
@@SpartanA31xx yup they are. They are both available for preorder now. They are Clubsport DD (12 Nm) and Clubsport DD+ (15 Nm). They both will have similar technology to the CSL DD but with more power. I dont believe either will replace the CSL DD. They are just adding additional bases to their midrange lineup. My recommendation is if you're ok with waiting a few more months and can stretch your budget, you should totally wait. But if not the CSL DD is a fantastic wheelbase and will not disappoint. Hope this helps!
@@DanDiMaggio Ahhh I see them now. I thought you meant like like a new CSL DD 2.0 or something for same price haha. CSL DD Bundle price is very appealing to me so might just go ahead with this one since no direct replacement. Thank you for getting back to me and clarifying! :)
I absolutely love the Revstripe. I always drive with the virtual wheel hidden so the Revstripe really is essential. Also it can be turned off in Fanatec Control Panel for those that don't like it.
I like how clean your room is. Not alot of wires everywhere, carpet looks clean. It makes my setup look like a fire hazard🚒 thank you for the video. Peace✌️
I’ve now watched 3 or 4 of your videos, and I really like how you break everything down! As someone new to sim racing, these videos are invaluable! Keep up the great work!
Straight to the point,no bs,no bias! Made my mind up especially now with their 1t0€ discount and possibly more during black Friday which I'm waiting for
I bought a fanatec csr in 2012 and it lasted 12 years before it broke. So I bought the 5nm bundle and it is amazing mate but I think fanatec should just give you the 8nm power pack anyway. Great channel mate 👍
I just got one of these (upgrading from a Thrustmaster T150), and I'd have to say this review is spot on. I did look at the Moza and the Camus, but ultimately I went with the CSL DD due mostly to it being cheaper than the Moza R5, and more upgradable than either the Moza or the Cammus. Totally happy with my purchase, and it shipped within the time frame indicated on the website. One other con I'd mention is that it's PC only. Not an issue if you race PC only like me, but definitely is an issue if you want to use it for console racing. I gotta try that Brake mod... :)
wow mate such a great info video about this , i ordered this 8NM bundle today with the BMW wheel version , i also threw in my cart the McLaren GT wheel , buzzing for it to arrive now aha
Ordered mine march 6th got it march 13th...EU to EU order so mabey that's why it was so fast. CSL DD bundle with BMW wheel and clutch kit..all arrived in less than a week
Incredible review!! It would have been nice to get suggestions of modds or upgrades on a few of the items under the cons list. The brake was a great example. I'm curious to know alternatives to the plastic wheel sound issue as well. Thanks again for a great review!
Important note about 17:36, yes the g923 is 350$ on amazon, but that's for the PS4/5 compatible version. A better comparison would be the Xbox/PC version (since the csl dd is PC only for 399/499) this is a better comparison at 229$ new. The PS4/5 CSL DD bundle is 699/799 5nm/8nm. Quite a big price difference. So it's more like 229 vs 399 instead of 350 vs 399. As the security stuff for PS increases the price a lot across all wheels.
Seems like a good bundle. I want to replace my T150 but I mostly play ETS2/ATS so I think even the 5nm should be good enough for that and the casual sim racing I do.
Guys if I was buying my Ready 2 Race bundle today, this is the one I would get! Yes it is a bit more expensive than the base bundle but this steering wheel is going to be much better quality than the one that comes with the standard bundle. This wasn't available when I bought mine but is now. Also it comes with the universal hub V2 so you can swap out basically any other steering wheel you want in the the future. This is not an affiliate link and I'm not sponsored by Fanatec. It's just genuinely the one I would buy today as I think it's a better value! fanatec.com/us-en/ready2race/csl-dd-ready2race-300-bundle?_gl=1*13ky80g*_up*MQ..*_ga*MTk4MDc0MTg4OC4xNzA0MjMxMDM5*_ga_Q6VYC4JPVE*MTcwNDIzMTAzOC4xLjEuMTcwNDIzMTA1OS4wLjAuMA..
When I first got the CSL DD with the base 5 nm power supply it was pretty unimpressive. It was clipping really easily in AC when you throw the car into a corner hard and easily overwhelmed when I apply force. I bought a cheap offbrand 8nm psu and it made a lot of difference. Holding torque probably doubled, and in reality the difference is that when you are driving normally 98% of the time you won't feel the clipping, while the 5nm is like 80%. Also the stock pedal without loadcell is pretty bad. For anyone buying I would recommend get the loadcell kit asap or just get the 2.0 pedal instead of the csl one. It was like 1 second improvement to pace immediately for me.
I just ordered this bundle. I really wanted the bundle with the GT3 wheel but that was 480 euro's and I had 600 to spend so I went for this bundle (400 euro) so I could also order the load cell pedal kit with it. All together it was 560 euro with shipping costs and thats a damn good prize for a complete set.
Keep us updated on how quickly you receive your items! Sounds like the shipping issues are starting to get better so hopefully you'll get yours pretty quick!
Nice review ! I was wondering what stand you use for your setup but I found your answer & opinion in the comments. Thank you ! Very close to ordering my 1st ready2race bundle...🙂
Super video. No hidden sponsors etc. Just a raw review. I sold my T330 RS GT to get a ready to race, but now its sold out. I thought ill wait for my T300 to get sold to go for the Ready2race 8nm bundle. Bad decision. Now im without a wheel and im in 2 minds, Moza R5 or more expensive R9 or just wait for Fanatec to resolve its issues. What do you think sir?
I also have a R9 (full disclosure it was sent to me by Moza after they saw this video) which I did a review on and it is very comparable to the CSL DD with the 8nm boost kit. The Moza feels a little smoother and very slightly stronger but Fanatec has more compatibility and better software in my opinion. They both are great honestly. Moza is on their way up and will be adding more accessories in the future but Fanatec has been in the game for a long time and already has many accessories available (steering wheels, pedals, upgrade kits, etc.). Not a big deal either way but I far prefer the quick release on the moza. It's the real world industry standard, is proven, and very solid with zero flex. Hope that helps!
@@DanDiMaggio Yes I saw your R9 video. Very convincing. But the R9 bundles are without pedals which means I have to shell out more. Do you think it's still worth it?
I think for me its best to start with 5 nm i came from the g923 fam so i had 2 nm now i have 0 becouse im Driving with a cheap saitek r4 with 180 degree rotation
Great review. In many countries this set up is 200-300 dollar more than the thrustmaster t300rs. Meaning people 2ho just try out simracing are unsure if th3y wanna invest a lot of money. Usually it's cheaper in USA than in Sweden for example. Hopefully that answers ur question about people not choosing the fanatec.
Hey! Great video here, and it was very useful for me. Though I was wondering if you could change the amount of deegrees the steering wheel base moves in the software like the Thrustmaster TMX can
So I bought this bundle a few months back and for the money, I think it's great value I purchased the WRC as I wanted compliance with Xbox I also got the loadcell brake pedal and then bought the shifter on black Friday I also have the Next Level Racing Wheel stand and find it very sturdy indeed Oh i also bought the Aliexpress 8 nm power cell that identical to the Fanatec one and wirks the same at one third the price
Hi, sorry to disturb you, but as i was looking on the Fanatec website, i saw that on this bundle, the wheel wasn't compatible with xbox. How did it work for you ? Thx for you're time
Sorry to hear about your TX. Same thing happen to mine years ago. Luckily since then I've only had good things to say about them. I've had a TS-PC & TS-XW and those were rock solid. I've also got a T818 in studio that I'll start testing soon for review. If you already have a lot of stuff in the thrustmaster ecosystem (steering wheels, pedals, shifter, etc) maybe consider upgrading to one of the TS bases or even the T818. But if you're ready to swap over to a new brand you can't go wrong with The CSL DD bundle. It's great!
Ive got the TH8A Shifter, which i really love.. But today i ordered the WRC "Ready to Race" Bundle and the Shifter, which price went done from 229€ to 159€ because black friday. I play on the Xbox Series X. I used Fanatec many times ago on the old xbox, which i cant use on the new Xbox. And i liked it alot.
I've never sim raced before but have been interested for a while. Would you recommend going straight to the 8Nm bundle version ($499.80) over the 5Nm bundle ($399.85) so as to save $50 + shipping for the Boost Kit later on at $149.95? Are you aware of any other bundles that might have a better (not plastic/rubbery) steering wheel? Or are you able to upgrade the wheel within the bundles?
After a while using the CSL DD with QR2, have you have disconnections problems? I'm wanting to buy a CSL DD bundle but I'm thinking in buying it with QR2. Yes, it's more expensive, but if the disconnections problems are solved, I think it could be a good idea. Thanks!
No I had no disconnect issues and have since sold this bundle to a friend that needed an upgrade. He has not reported any issues with anything at all. I do recomend the QR2. It is a lot more solid and actually makes the ffb feel even sharper because there is no flex to dampen the ffb. That is even with the QR2 lite.
Ordered yesterday the csl dd bundle with the csl p1v2 wheel that comes with a qr1 lite that is already mounted hope it wont hold back couse the qr 1lite out of stock problems
Honestly at a minimum to get the full potential out of this wheelbase you'll want to get a Next Level Racing Wheelstand 2.0. Most other wheelstands are going to have a hard time handling the power. Especially at 8 Nm. It will work but you will get some damping in the ffb due to lack of stability. In this video I'm using the wheelstand 2.0 and it does a fantastic job. It is on the more expensive end of wheelstands though at around $250.
I have a question regarding which bundles to buy. Its currently between the CSL DD 8nm bundle, and the monza r5 bundle. Cant seem to chose, do you have any suggestions?
Quick question. Is the 5nm worth it if I plan to get the power supply to make it 8nm on top of a load cell? Also, do you know anything about the Drivehub? (I plan on using both pc and ps5 with this)
It is understandable why individuals opt for Thrustmaster or Logitech products, as they offer compatibility with PC, PS5, and Xbox platforms. This versatility provides a comprehensive solution for gaming across multiple devices. In contrast, Fanatec products are designed exclusively for PC use, necessitating additional purchases for compatibility with PS5 or Xbox. While Fanatec does offer a more expensive option that supports multiple platforms, the $399 model is limited to PC usage.
Cheers for this, about time, I'm looking at getting this bundle. What is the setup support you are using? I couldn't find any on Fanatec website, I don't have a desk nor a sturdy table.
For this setup I'm using the Next Level Racing wheelstand 2.0 and it's worked great! It's certainly the most stable wheelstand I've used but of course it will be lacking compared to most complete sim rigs. Especially a profile rig. But if you're just looking to get out on track and have fun it will certainly do the trick!
This is an excellent summary. I really like how you make the review in a systematic way. What's that rig under the weel that you are using Dan? Thank you.
It's actually a next level racing wheel stand 2.0. I'm releasing a review on it Wednesday. It's a great option if you're tight on space. If you have the room though I would recommend a full rig and more specifically a profile rig if it's in the budget!
Thanks. I'll check it out. Thats precisely my problem. I have a rig stashed away due to space and looking for something more compact for the time being. Cheers!
NO shipping delays and customer support have been resolved... im waiting for more than 10 days for an issue to be analise by them... i got alot of issues with my fanatec gear i regret every day that chose fanatec gear for me... so think well and chose better when you think to buy fanatec products. Sry ppl im realy upset whith them.
i just bought the DD but.... Cammus C5 is a good option if the price is to steep Fanatec has more upgradabilty and most likely a better resale price when you need to upgrade down the road
Concise and to the point review: well done! As to why anyone would spend $>350 for a Logitech or Thrustmaster setup, a legitimate response would be that, though the Fanatec set is an unquestioonably higher quality package, Fanatec's customer support and order fulfilment is abysmally bad. In the world of tech, no product is any better than is its after-sales support, and Fanatec's is absolutely terrible: slow at best and completely unresponsive at worst.
How much of an upgrade would this be over the Logitech g923? I hear the “fidelity” is waaaaay better and I think what they mean is there’s less gear chatter and cleaner FFB? I feel like the gear chatter makes stuff like feeling terrain and slight traction loss harder to feel which i hope a DD wheel fixes
This will be a significant step up from the g923. I'm guilty of using the word "fidelity" myself and I hate it lol. It just means the wheelbase has a high dynamic range and is capable of giving you high and low frequencies at the same time. For example with the Logi G series wheels, you pretty much have to run them full force to get the lower end detail you want, but since they don't have a high dynamic range you loose that lower detail in certain scenarios. It's similar to clipping but not exactly the same. High speed cornering is a prime example of this. It takes all of a G series wheel's power to translate the car's weight transfer in a corner so the small frequencies disappear . Going down the straight you're probably feeling small imperfections in the road surface and other small effects but as soon as you start to turn in those forces drop off and you only feel a heavy but numb ffb until you exit the corner and then those forces come back. The wheelbase doesn't have enough power and/or dynamic range to give you both at the same time. The CSL DD has a higher dynamic range so it can still produce those small forces while also giving you heavy ffb for weight transfer at the same time. Note though that this is not just the case with direct drive wheels. There are also belt/gear driven wheels that have a good dynamic range as well. Thrustmaster TSPC, XW and Fanatec's older Clubsport V2.5 have decent dynamic ranges also. Not as good as a direct drive but they would still be a significant step up from the logitech wheel. The gear chatter you're talking about is a separate issue and the logitech g series wheels are the worst offenders of this. It's kind of just what they do even when brand new unfortunately. They are quite reliable but the noise is what keeps me from recommending them. Hope this helps!
Next Level Racing Wheel Stand 2.0 by its looks. Very heavy (which helps when you're using DD) and sturdy. It won't move or flex unless you exceed 9-10 nm.
In this video I'm using the Next Level Racing Wheelstand 2.0. It's by far the most sturdy wheelstand that I've ever used. It's heavy and not super easy to move around but it does hold up to a direct drive wheel surprisingly well. I did a review on it a while back.
I'll hopefully be able to get this bundle in ~1 month, and a month after that hopefully the McLaren GT3 wheel. How big of an upgrade would this be over a G29? Are the ~600€ that I want to spend on this worth it?
It will be a significant upgrade from the G29. And not just in overall power but also smoothness and quietness! You'll love it! Also the Mclaren wheel is still one of the best bargains in sim racing for GT3 style wheels!
I bought the Thrustmaster T300 on a black friday deal for 249€. If not for the deal, I might've gone for the Fanatec bundle. But then again, I got my T300 within days, whereas apparently the deliveries and customer service of Fanatec is hideous. Some people have waited for weeks or even months for their product with little to no response from the manufacturer
Yup they've been having an issue lately. I personally got mine quick but it was some time ago. The trick with Fanatec is to buy products when they are not releasing a new product. They just can't handle the order load during those times and they don't seem to have any interest in fixing that problem. The T300 is a great wheel too though so you'll many happy races with it!
@@DanDiMaggio Indeed, the wheel is working great, but the pedals that came with the RS GT edition are not the best, especially the brake. I really struggle with braking consistency, but as of now I can't justify upgrading into much more expensive setup so this will have to do :)
Honestly out of the box the standard pedals with this bundle aren't that much better than what you have. I'd stick with those until if and when you decide to grab a set of load cell pedals.@@TzeiEm
you can mount it on a desk but you will need to purchase the optional desk mount also. It will need to be a pretty sturdy desk as well because it's quite powerful. Something like a next level wheel stand 2.0 would be more ideal but not completely necessary.
Try it at the 5Nm first and see what you think. Even at 5 Nm it is much stronger than the G29. Also consider what you will be mounting it to. Desk, wheelstand, cockpit, etc.) It will need to be quite a bit more sturdy with the 8Nm over the 5.
Mine arrived the other day however it’s a Christmas present so I’ll have to wait, I already had the csl pedals with the loadcell brake so I didn’t get the bundle, I ordered the CSL DD (5NM) and the McLaren GT3 V2 Wheel rim, absolutely buzzing for Christmas
HI, IM ABOUT TO PURCHASE ONE TOO, BUT I NEED ADVICE.... the bundle says wheel comes with qr2 ok, but on the base description says qr1. so does the wheel come with qr1 aswell and they just give the qr2 for wheel side included? but then thats no use as the qr2 base side isnt available till jan 14th... at the check out i added the qr2 base side but said can n ot be shipped untill all parts are available.. i dont know if to buy it and hope for the best but i dont see why they are giving the half of the qr2 as advertised right now. wheel comes with qr2 but that means its not ready to race as the base says qr1
It will really depend on how sturdy your desk is. It certainly has the power to throw monitors around if the desk it's mounted to isn't too strong lol. But I say do what you have to do to race! If you need to you can always turn the strength down a bit if it moves the desk too much. Even at a lower strength you will still get the benefit of the amazing details and smoothness of the wheelbase!
@@_Arthur- It will be fine on a table/desk. Look up Road2Racer on youtube. He uses this exact setup on a glass desk and so far it hasn't shattered the desk 😂
I wanna buy this wheel or the Moza R5 bundle, but then ive read that both wheels arent compatible with Playstation, only PC, im playing ALOT of pc, but i want that whell working for Gran Turismo!! Now i will wait, till its compatible. Fanataec is working on it, ive heard.
If you are referring to Moza, the R5 would be the direct competitor as they both have approximately 5 Nm. I actually have a Moza R9 in house to compare against the Boost Kit version of the CSL DD. 9 Nm vs 8 Nm. Once I'm done with those I hope they will send out the R3 to test and review. I would like to test it out for the console compatibility. I will also compare it to the CSL 5 Nm at that time for anyone curious about how they compare.
It's the Next Level Racing Wheelstand 2.0. It's exceeded my expectations. It's not completely free of wobble but what little is there has not effected my driving whatsoever. I can see it if I'm looking for it but it's basically inconceivable when driving and concentrating on the race. It's the most sturdy wheelstand I've used, especially when you "clip" your chair wheels into the channel that they include. It honestly has less vibration & wobble than a GT Omega ART cockpit for reference. Of course it's not going to be as stable as a profile rig but it's the best wheelstand I've used. If you have to use a wheelstand, this is totally the one I recommend by a long shot. It's probably pretty close to it's limit at 8-10Nm but works well at that power or lower.
@@DanDiMaggio just ordered the csl dd bundle and the next level racing wheelstand 2.0 before stumbling on this video, totally justified my purchase. thanks for the great vid
Ideally at a minimum you'll want a wheelstand. I recommend the one I'm using here in the video. Next Lever Racing Wheelstand 2.0. It's the best performing wheelstand available and I've used a bunch of them. This wheelbase will rattle a desk to pieces if you try to use the desk mount. Especially if using the boost kit with 8Nm.
Next Level Racing Wheel Stand 2.0. It's fantastic! One of the best options if you're limited on space! I've done a review on it if you want more info. ruclips.net/video/vUjDX6BsWI8/видео.html

No table clamp is being used here. It's actually mounted directly to a next level racing wheel stand 2.0 and that is slid right up to the desk. Sorry for the confusion. I do highly recommend that wheel stand if you are short on space though! It's pretty solid!
You're right! I totally regret buying my Logitech G923. It's practically useless for anything more than truck simulators. It's a noisy hunk of junk. Gonna sell it soon and upgrade to either a Moza R12 or the Fanatec 8NM bundle
so true. i bought the g29 thinking i was getting into entry level sim racing and it felt like a toy. glad i did some research afterward, and dan's right - it makes NO SENSE going in that direction when a bundle like this exists
As of now it is still coming with the QR1. Also I would probably wait a little bit before purchasing anything from them right now. They currently have a long backlog of orders to be shipped out and customer service inquires they can't get to. Might want to give it a month or so if you can wait.
@@DanDiMaggio i waiting 2 weeks now. after order. on webside all stuff stand in 7 day deliver :D but okay drink some tee and wait, need to support my country :)
No they don't. But you can upgrade to the V3 pedals and they do have vibration mechanisms similar to whats found in a XBox controller. They don't come with this bundle though and are more expensive.
I need YOUR help if anyone that has this wheel can you tell me how long it comes out from the desk including the box and the wheel plssssss (because i am building a racing sim)

Ordered the csl dd bundle on the 5/11/24 and received everything by 5/16/24 so I’d say they’re all caught up just be careful and order what’s in stock
I appreciate that you notated how quiet it is. It is something that most reviews havent even commented on.
Yeah I'm not sure why they don't but it's a big deal for me so I try and always mention it. I've used some pretty loud wheels in the past so I love that this one is basically silent!
because everyone knows DD wheels are quiet. itsnot something worth mentioning lol
That's Awesome! Happy new year my friend!
I got g29 and thinking about getting 8nm rdy to race. I think I pushed the g29 to the limit, wheel ain't really for sim racing more for casual driving etc..
@@Bosnianfear15
Get It!!
@@goobytron2888 appreciate the feedback. Which pedals did you get or you got them in buddle?
@@Bosnianfear15 the bundle then ordered load cel. And moved the brake to the clutch.
I was just planning on purchasing a bundle tomorrow I’d hope they don’t take forever for shipping as they don’t offer an option for free shipping

Not sure what you mean by problems with shipping? I pre ordered mine back in December with availability date of the 26th of Jan. It arrived today the 29th of Jan. I'm in the UK though.
You, sir, deserve a medal! Helped me a looot! :)
I bought mine yesterday it on its way in so exited thank you so much!
same here, can't wait
@@DanDiMaggio The Clubsport DD does look interesting though haha. Might just get this one since it is all newly updated and with QR2 connection

Thank you! I really appreciate it!
Great video thanks, I got the Fanatec 5nm ready to race bundle im very happy with it.i highly recommend it.
Thank you!
What is this bundle as the link doesn't work anymore ?
@@DanDiMaggio I did my order on February 29 and received it yesterday 6 March so no issues with shipping at all.

Though I was wondering if you could change the amount of deegrees the steering wheel base moves in the software like the Thrustmaster TMX can
Great video! Thanks man

I really considered this, it is such a good deal!
The 5Nm Base is the same like the 8Nm Base, just buy the 5NM and upgrade the power adapter if its to weak for you, i would go this way.
Should i get it as a guy who never owned a steering wheel
Hi I see you have your wheel peddels connected to some kind of frame, what is that please ?

Does this base come with a quick release? Because I wanted to put the club sport formula v2.5 wheel on it but didn’t know if it would fit.
Yes. For now it is still coming with the standard V1 quick release.
Do I need the stand or is there a clip on the base that I can attack to my table?
Thx for you're time
Thx for the very good review. It helps alot after my Thrustmaster TX is broken.
You're going to love that setup! I considered purchasing the shifter at that price as well. It's a great deal!@@SiegfriedAnder
Will the ready2race bundle come with everything i need to get started? Do have have to buy the table clamp and a wheel adapter separately?
I've never sim raced before but have been interested for a while. Would you recommend going straight to the 8Nm bundle version ($499.80) over the 5Nm bundle ($399.85) so as to save $50 + shipping for the Boost Kit later on at $149.95? Are you aware of any other bundles that might have a better (not plastic/rubbery) steering wheel? Or are you able to upgrade the wheel within the bundles?
The Moza r5 bundle is better built with higher quality materials but its 5.5nm for 500$
After a while using the CSL DD with QR2, have you have disconnections problems? I'm wanting to buy a CSL DD bundle but I'm thinking in buying it with QR2. Yes, it's more expensive, but if the disconnections problems are solved, I think it could be a good idea. Thanks!
No I had no disconnect issues and have since sold this bundle to a friend that needed an upgrade. He has not reported any issues with anything at all. I do recomend the QR2. It is a lot more solid and actually makes the ffb feel even sharper because there is no flex to dampen the ffb. That is even with the QR2 lite.

Did yours come with a US plug for the direct drive base or no mine came with just the European one and I'm not sure how that happened
Great video Dan! What about your wheel stand? Can you suggest a budget friendly solution for this configuration? Thank you
Honestly at a minimum to get the full potential out of this wheelbase you'll want to get a Next Level Racing Wheelstand 2.0.
Thank you Dani!@@DanDiMaggio

Basically, I also got the boost kit from Ali express for about 50aud, so I'm running 8nm and it's really awesome!
Quick question.
Is the 5nm worth it if I plan to get the power supply to make it 8nm on top of a load cell?
Also, do you know anything about the Drivehub? (I plan on using both pc and ps5 with this)
Nice review!👍
Cannot wait to get one of these. I currently have a Logitech G920 and hope to sell that to recover some of my money.

This seems like a lot of value. Thinking about upgrading from a dying T300rs...
Did the QR2 lite and QR2 base side come with the package? Or did you pay extra?
I purchased them separately from the bundle after I had the base for a while. The QR2 is better but totally not necessary imo.
its a good priced bundle but if they could use the full size quick release and a wrapped wheel it would be amazing.
Which base is that? im new to wheels I found this boundle but where do I mount this? which structure is that?
Next Level Racing Wheel Stand 2.0 by its looks. Very heavy (which helps when you're using DD) and sturdy. It won't move or flex unless you exceed 9-10 nm.
Hey, I was wondering what stand you use for your setup?
In this video I'm using the Next Level Racing Wheelstand 2.0. It's by far the most sturdy wheelstand that I've ever used. It's heavy and not super easy to move around but it does hold up to a direct drive wheel surprisingly well. I did a review on it a while back.
could i know what stand you're using for this?
3:12 There's a phrase I like to use "No wife, happier life."

Next Level Racing Wheelstand 2.0
Good job Dan, this is good video 🙂🏆👍
As a beginner looking to buy . Do you suggest this combo?
I have those Logitech speakers…love them
I'll hopefully be able to get this bundle in ~1 month, and a month after that hopefully the McLaren GT3 wheel.
Quick question what mount are you using for the steering wheel?
Next Level Racing Wheelstand 2.0. Very Solid and sturdy!
@@DanDiMaggio thanks, good to know! If I ever feel the need and have the purse, I might go straight onto load cells and the gt3 wheel
do i haveto have something to mount it on like not a desk
or can i mount on a desk
you can mount it on a desk but you will need to purchase the optional desk mount also. It will need to be a pretty sturdy desk as well because it's quite powerful. Something like a next level wheel stand 2.0 would be more ideal but not completely necessary.
For someone who hasnt used any steering wheels before, which should i get, the 5nm or 8nm?
I was originally thinking of the Logitech G29
It's gonna be awesome Dude! I'm sure santa would be cool with you opening it a little early. He's a nice guy lol
@@DanDiMaggio 🤣 nah I’ll be killed if I opened it early
What you think about use this with a table mount? Will turn the table around? Monitors Flying?
It will really depend on how sturdy your desk is. It certainly has the power to throw monitors around if the desk it's mounted to isn't too strong lol. But I say do what you have to do to race! If you need to you can always turn the strength down a bit if it moves the desk too much. Even at a lower strength you will still get the benefit of the amazing details and smoothness of the wheelbase!
I was thinking this would be the only reason to buy a Logitech wheel instead. But then again, you could just turn the power down like you said.
@@_Arthur- It will be fine on a table/desk. Look up Road2Racer on youtube. He uses this exact setup on a glass desk and so far it hasn't shattered the desk 😂
What racing wheel stand are you using for the wheel itself?
In this review I'm using a Next Level Racing Wheel Stand 2.0
I wanna buy this wheel or the Moza R5 bundle, but then ive read that both wheels arent compatible with Playstation, only PC, im playing ALOT of pc, but i want that whell working for Gran Turismo!! Now i will wait, till its compatible. Fanataec is working on it, ive heard.
P:s Current ive been using a T300 and want a upgrade!
Can you do a comparison with the DD model and R3 model as I think the R3 is a direct competitor
Hey, what wheel stand are you using with the CSL DD? And has it been stable for you with no excessive wobbles? Thanks
That's Awesome! You're going to love the combo. Great bang for the buck. Stand and wheelbase! @@nsmithcine
@DanDiMaggioSimRacing
I also have one, and I second the recommendation 😅
what mount do you recommend for this? I don't really want to use the desk mount.
Nice video dude, creds
For comparison the T300 has 3,9 NM and the G29 has 2,2 or something.
what's the wheel stand you're using? How is it?
Next Level Racing Wheel Stand 2.0. It's fantastic! One of the best options if you're limited on space! I've done a review on it if you want more info. ruclips.net/video/vUjDX6BsWI8/видео.html
Ever since I upgraded to the clubsport V3 pedals, I’ve had EMI issues that are affecting my brakes but no one on RUclips seems to have solutions 😭
What exactly is the issue? Are the pedals dropping in and out or are they causing something else to have interference?
@@DanDiMaggio I can only brake on a straight before the turn like on F1 games, If I’m braking and also turning simultaneously, like trail braking, my brakes start to flicker
that seems like the wheel input is causing the issues and not the pedals. What wheelbase are you using?@@johnnycarrillo2538
@@DanDiMaggio I am using the CSL DD pro on a PS5.. would ferrites work or would I have to ground my setup? I’m using a GT omega as I need to put it away every once in a while so I haven’t tried to ground it since it would be a hassle to move.
Is that table clamp from fanatec ? Or where can i find it?
Cant Decide between this and the moza r5
csl dd ffb is better and you can upgrade to 8nm
You sold me bro. Bout to order
if you buy a csl dd 8mk nowadays does it come with qr1 or qr2?
As of now it is still coming with the QR1. Also I would probably wait a little bit before purchasing anything from them right now. They currently have a long backlog of orders to be shipped out and customer service inquires they can't get to. Might want to give it a month or so if you can wait.
@@DanDiMaggio i waiting 2 weeks now. after order. on webside all stuff stand in 7 day deliver :D but okay drink some tee and wait, need to support my country :)
Hey guys, would you consider this low end kit an upgrade from the Logitech G29?
Absolutely it will be a significant upgrade from the Logitech!
I hate that phrase at 3:14 hear it way too often on TV renovation and house hunting shows. Didn't expect to hear it on a Sim racing channel.
Sorry! It fit the situation though.
Can I use it csl ready2race bundle on ps5 some people say I can some people say I cannot what is the true answer
can you add a gear box to this bundle?
Do the pedals have vibration feedback?
No they don't. But you can upgrade to the V3 pedals and they do have vibration mechanisms similar to whats found in a XBox controller. They don't come with this bundle though and are more expensive.
@@DanDiMaggio thank you for that feedback!
I need YOUR help if anyone that has this wheel can you tell me how long it comes out from the desk including the box and the wheel plssssss (because i am building a racing sim)
