I like your insights, DG, they're sharp and on the mark. I'd like to contribute my idea of what Canadians are like, as a Canadian myself, from Toronto, Ontario. Canadians have lived under tacit communism for decades now. Taxes on businesses are 35%, you can't build here easily, there's so much red tape. Canadians just get by. Nobody talks about politics, they just accept what's going on. We can vote in elections, but that's it. It is a rqueteering scheme amongst the ruling politicians, ruled mostly by what's called the Laurentian elites in Quebec, of which Trudeau is a part. Regular people don't have lots of money because the government takes most of it through taxes. So, nobody talks about politics because nobody wants to admit how screwed we all are. So people are in a huge state of collective denial, and they've been bullied and brainwashed to think that they have some kind of pride in not being American. Sure, America has been under attack by the ds bureaucracy, but it is still better than in Canada and Europe. But Canadians just try to survive in the oppressive climate here, where, like in a communist state, you just keep your head down and be quiet. Canadians are not encouraged to be free, to have agency, to voice opinions, to take chances. All that is squashed here. It is quite depressing, and is hard to endure; that's why so many go to the States for buisiness. So saying that Canadians are mostly Liberal is true in a way, but not in the same way as Liberals are in the States where people voice their opinions. Candians might vote, but they never talk about it, so, as a Canadian at ground level, I think that Canadians, when they see a way out of the oppressive system that they're in now would be sympathetic to lower taxes, living in a merit-based system and actually have better access to health care. Case in point, Canadians still think and say that we have such great health care, when it has been crashing in recent years, with wait times to see a doctor for 15 min is about 6 months, and what's Canada's recent answer? MAID - medically assisted suicide. Disgusting. But Canadians wouldn't put up a fight like Liberal Americans would. We don't have the culture or history of any such activity. But Canadians are generally good people, and tough, too. I don't think we'd loose our culture, because the culture that we have is of being on the land, in our neibourhoods anyways. Let's highlight what Trudeau said when he came into office a decade ago: that Canada is the first post-nationalist nation. What a thing to say; just another step in the dividing and hollowing out the agency and identity of the people here. It is the height of irony that Trudeau and Ford, the premiere of Ontario are trying to tout their "Team Canada" slogans now that Trump is pushing tarrifs. They've never said such things before. But people here just shrug their shoulders as they always do, because they're just getting by. It is tragic. Canada needs someone like Trump to liberate them from the tyrrany of these mafia style rulers. It is brutal here. Daniel Smith, the premiere of Alberta, has been resisting agreeing to fight the tarrifs like the rest of the premieres, because Alberta has the gas and oil which she doesn't want to stop selling to the States. She's the only one who went to see Trump at Mar a Lago right before inauguration, because she's got nothing to hide, because the "equalization" policy in Canada siphons Alberta's revenue back to the rest of the other provinces. How unfair; it causes a lot of division and anamocity in the country. They do that to appease Quebec so they won't separate from Canada, not to mention just outrightly mug Alberta to fill federal pockets. It is a very disfunctional scene here. Do you know that there is no interprovincial trade even? Canadians don't even talk about that, I've never heard it mentioned in conversation. And another reason why the other premieres didn't go to Mar a Lago is because they don't want to address the migrant crisis, the porous border, the fentanyl crisis. They created it! Instead they, play up the "Trump's a bully" card so that the press has that sensational message going around instead of highlighting the real crisis, crime, that they created. ALBERTA 🇺🇲 MAGA 🇺🇲 MAKE ALBERTA GREAT AGAIN🇺🇲 Pierre wants to build pipelines that take crude oil from Alberta to BC and to Quebec and he wants to build refineries in Canada so that Canada can be more independent from the United States because as of right now, 95%+ Canadian crude oil is exported to the United States, specifically to the refineries in Texas and Louisiana. With the 25% tariffs on Canada, many politicians in Ottawa were considering making the sale of crude oil more expensive, they call this the nuclear option. But this would significantly disrupt the economy of Alberta, which is why their Premier Danielle Smith refused to support retaliatory tariffs. So really this is not an option. Politicians in Ottawa have even talked about taxing truckers driving from Washington State to Alaska!!! This is unacceptable. Alberta has always wanted to join the United States, there have been annexation movements since the 1970s-80s. How do we make Canada the 51st State? Easy. Alberta. Unilaterally declare we will stop importing crude oil. Canada should cancel the pipelines, because that crude oil can be refined just fine by Texas. In fact, a beautiful relationship can be developed between Alberta and Texas!!! We should invite the government of Alberta to Washington, DC and agree to continue importing their oil if they agree to be annexed and join as the 51st State. 🇺🇲 After that, the annexation of Nunavut for control of the NW Passage can happen, which is crucial for our national security. Furthermore, it would finally protect Alaska from being isolated. Alberta can be the first domino to fall. After that, Saskatchewan and Manitoba can be next, and BC will be so isolated they should join too. After that, the rest of Canada couldn't resist being part of the greatest nation on Earth. Pierre can be the Governor!!!! We need the Panama Canal. We need Greenland. We need Nunavut. We need Alaska. We need Alberta. We need Canada ❤️🇺🇲 Like Trump said, just look at that map. He will make offers to the western provinces first. I bet he has his eye on BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. Then after that Canada will collapse economically at which he will make them an offer for the northern territories and that’s all he really needs. Then let them fight it out between the remaining provinces and in a few years he can just take them over once they are bankrupt
We should seriously consider taking considerable chunks of Yukon and B.C. to connect Alaska. Also, get the islands as stepping stones to Greenland. This would bolster our defenses for decades to come.
NO ONE IS OUR ALLY UNTIL THEY’VE PROVEN THEY ARE. Allies provide mutually beneficial things to each other - what do these EU countries provide us that compares to what we provide to them nowadays?
I went on an Alaska cruise with my family last May, which inspired me to do a deep dive on its geography. To put the distance Alaska is from the main part US in proper perspective, Anchorage, Alaska's main city, is roughly as far from Seattle (the nearest major city in the main part of the US) as Seattle is from Dallas, Texas in the opposite direction! There is a LOT of real estate between Alaska and the rest of the US, though most of it (aside from the Vancouver area just north of the US-Canadian border) is mostly empty of people. Beyond its southern border region, Canada bears a very strong resemblance to Siberia...
the only real concern in annexing canada is quebec. the rest of the territories can remain territories or be made states once we've figured out what their voting record will be. historically we incorporate states in groups of 2: 1 blue, 1 red. so alberta, saskatchewan, british columbia, and yukon would likely end up states assuming they vote how we think they would and the rest would be territories until parity in parties can form from the remainder. and even then quebec would always be rejected as a state since it will be like california but 10x worse since its also wanna-be french of course this is assuming we were to do so. ultimately it was just a joke
Canada will be annexed it makes sense China and Russia has bases in the Arctic Canada poses as a security risk plus Canada has alot of resources that will boost the GDP we do want to be the 51st state canada has become a failed state rn
Agreed. He just directed Guantanamo Bay to get ready to take 30,000 migrants. Concentration camps on day 9 and threatening to invade and annex sovereign countries is impressive even for him. Hitler would be so proud.
When I told people the main reason behind trying to acquire Greenland. Was for the Artic Trade Routes due to the polar ice caps melting. They laughed and called me idiotic. And now here we are, talking about it.
The thing is if Canada joins the USA it wouldn’t become only the 51st state, because of its size it would add at least 6 or more states and add Greenland which would also add more than 2 or 3 states so we could potentially become 60 United States. I haven’t heard anyone mention this.
@Kidd-b7v I think it's because it's easier for most Americans, that's why they always say 51st. Also, states can break out of already preexisting states. It's hard, but it is possible.
Greenland's population would prevent it from being a state for the for seeable future. So it would be a territory. Canada, if admitted into the states, would probably retain the providences it currently has, or it would be rezoned again given what the people want and population requirements. Americans are well aware Canada as a whole would not be one state. But if any parts of Canada are annexed it would create the 51st..hence the saying.
@@owleye4510 Denmark really doesn’t care much about Greenland because for something like 800 years and they’re done nothing whatsoever to improve living conditions and or exploration. It’s only when the US shows interest that all of a sudden it becomes so precious. They’re full of it if you understand what I’m saying? And perhaps have enough people for electoral . Just speculating. 🤔 a very interesting subject though.

The easiest solution is to merge Alberta with Wyoming, Yukon, and the Northwest Territories, connecting them to Alaska while bypassing British Columbia. If BC prefers, it can merge with Washington instead. This would create a contiguous mainland, with Alberta being the most likely to join and benefit from a U.S. alliance.

😂😂 I am a veteran and this is ridiculous funny thing I watched a documentary about greenlanders and how they live the ones way away from civilization pretty cool!
I can confirm this! I traveled along the Alaska Panhandle (by sea) last May (I highly recommend it, as that part of the world is gorgeous). The cities there, like Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan, are all built in relatively small, relatively level areas along the coast. The land between them is all mountains and jagged, rugged coastline. While they can be accessed overland through a handful of mountain passes, those roads all lead into Canada. If (hypothetically) we were going to have a road going from Anchorage and other parts of non-panhandle Alaska to the main US, we would need a significant amount of Canadian territory adjacent to the Panhandle, or further east and inland, like the current route of the Alaska Highway.
We should take Scotland and the European "colonies" in this hemisphere (Bermuda, Aruba, Curacao, French Guiana, etc). Ireland should be whole again. The Brits can keep England and Wales, and whatever possessions they have in and around Europe.
OMG that would be poetic wouldn't it...The 51st state of the US, Britain. 😮 The monarchy would have to be dismantle entirely though. Then Canada would definitely be next.
To connect to Alaska you go thru Montana-Alberta and up to Dawson Creek (northern BC) where the Alaska Highway begins. Coincidentally it was the American Army Corps that built the Alaska Highway during WW2 in 8 months. One of the bigest projects of the war. It goes from Dawson Creek, BC to Alaska, an amazing feat. Canada should love the americans....the attitude of the liberal elitists from quebec/ontario is appalling.
Here is what we do... play the NATO card. We buy Greenland and continue on in the alliance OR we LEAVE NATO and TAKE Greenland. In the later scenario europe would face the US and Russia as adversaries. The Europeans are arrogant so the later may need to happen... I for one am sick of the US footing the bill for Europe's defense while they have all the things like free health care. Enough is enough!
Whenever I hear DT talk about Canada as the 51st state what I think he is closer to saying is that they should de facto be a state as in they fully accept being our junior partner. A closer economic and military integration where they basically follow our lead. Not that we should outright bring them into our political system like a proper state.

@jeffs4483 I agree. Sometimes borders change, and I don't have a problem with that. My ONLY issue with Trump's pursuit of Greenland - which I agree should be ours - is threatening to invade an ally. That just doesn't sit right with me.
Canada has a population similar to California. Democrats would win every election in the foreseeable future if it became a state. Unless they are more conservative than I've been led to believe.
Like California, Canada has a large conservative population. They're just politically powerless because a handful of liberal cities have them outnumbered overall. If the liberal and conservative parts of Canada were admitted as separate states (either add Canada as 2, 4 or 6 states with equal numbers of conservative and liberal ones), the Senate would stay about as balanced, though the House would move slightly leftward.
@@DMAN590 Canada is not truly representing the interest of all provinces. The most populated two are represented. Years ago attemps were made to have an equal, elected and effective senate. It would have kept our country in check. Each province would have an equal say, and would balance off Quebec and Ontarios seats(power). It was killed, and now the power is held over everyone by tw provinces. Oh, we are a big country, with unique needs allover. You don't get that where the power is concentrated in two geographic regions.
I get what he’s doing with the talk. But I wouldn’t support actual forced annexation. Greenlanders need to vote in a free election on their independence or joining us. There is also no way in hell he’s getting any of Canada. He’s just sending a message to China. The Panama Canal is different. We have legal authority to take over. It’s outlined in the treaty all parties agreed to.
I don't think we should annex Ontario and Quebec though. Let them keep that for themselves. It would be too much of a burden to have to deal with those two provinces.
Its not gerrymandering since the grouping is dictated by who wanted to join the US as states and who wanted to oppose us and incidentally become territories. Entirely up to the people if done that way, they don't even have to be conservatives, just accept how things are and voluntarily join or become a territory. That's good ol fashioned territorial expansion like we've always done across recorded history.
You guys do have a highway that connects mainland United States to Alaska's called the Alaskan highway. You built it back in the 1940s. It was a fee to engineer. It asked for the cost to live in Canada. You should research it because the cost of food is like double what you Americans pay for. Because there's some called a carbon tax on fuel. And it gets past on from the farmer right to the retailer. So the cost of living in Canada is stupid Lee expensive.
You have to go through Canada to get to Alaska from the mainland US, which is why is called the (Alcan) Alaska-Canada Highway. He is talking about annexing British Columbia as a province, or parts of it as a direct land route to AK without having to go through Canadian customs.
It is absolutely not crystal clear that the people of Greenland would prefer being part of the United States. Some do. But some clearly do not, as well. They should be able to decide their fate, not have it imposed on them. Greenland has belonged to Denmark for 200 years. I support Trump, but it is not a good look to bully other countries to annex territory.
@ScorpionF1RE_USA it's the difference between right and wrong. In the grand scheme of things, that may matter in ways we have no grasp of. No person should be killed for the US to possess Greenland, if it came to a clash of wills, lets put it that way.
Over doing tariffs on everyone is not the best idea. It's forcing buyers to shop somewhere else. They also will raise their own tariffs on the US for our goods. Meanwhile, the dollar is crashing. The US needs to be more independent, but that will take time. The majority of the middle class are/were living paycheck to paycheck thanks to the high inflation from the last administration. If the Danes wanted to sell Greenland, then its fine to buy. Except they don't want to sell. Trump should look at other options instead of trying to force a country to give up its land. This will just give more countries a reason to make more deals with others, further alienating the US. Look at how many countries are pulling away from doing business with US already. A low to no tariff on Canada while working on a joint production of natural resources, while the 2 countries remain separate would be profitable. Canada is too liberal as a US state, which would throw off the balance of the vote red vs blue. Doing deals, more than what the US has now with Greenland would make more sense than trying to force a take over.
I would add Alberta and Saskatchewan to that, as those are both conservative (by the Canadian definition) and resource-rich areas that would also create a secure overland connection between the Arctic and the rest of the US.
The only thing this does Is move Denmark and Canada closer to the EU, if they strong arm Denmark and Canada through military force they have no leg to stand on when it comes to opposition to Russia reacquiring former Soviet territories (relevant to the current Ukraine situation which the US is deeply invested in...) There seems to be an assumption that Canada wouldn't look at a position of neutrality in the next global conflict which is odd given the increase in hostility. If the response is military see the paragraph above.
There’s no way people are seriously calling the Greenland deal globalism. How is a territory moving from control of one nato country to another nato country really changing anything politically in the grand scheme of things beyond the resource money just being in our pocket now, instead Denmark’s?
Greenland no. But if you look through the comments here and Trump's remarks for the US to NX, Canada, Mexico and other Central American countries, yes that is globalism absolutely

Pierre wants to build pipelines that take crude oil from Alberta to BC and to Quebec and he wants to build refineries in Canada so that Canada can be more independent from the United States because as of right now, 95%+ Canadian crude oil is exported to the United States, specifically to the refineries in Texas and Louisiana.
After that, the annexation of Nunavut for control of the NW Passage can happen, which is crucial for our national security.

*Hears "How Dare You"*

At the very least there should be a land bridge between Alaska and Washington
the only real concern in annexing canada is quebec. the rest of the territories can remain territories or be made states once we've figured out what their voting record will be. historically we incorporate states in groups of 2: 1 blue, 1 red.
so alberta, saskatchewan, british columbia, and yukon would likely end up states assuming they vote how we think they would and the rest would be territories until parity in parties can form from the remainder. and even then quebec would always be rejected as a state since it will be like california but 10x worse since its also wanna-be french
of course this is assuming we were to do so. ultimately it was just a joke

Can’t build a highway through the Alaskan panhandle. Absolutely rugged terrain. Impassable to roads.

Whenever I hear DT talk about Canada as the 51st state what I think he is closer to saying is that they should de facto be a state as in they fully accept being our junior partner. A closer economic and military integration where they basically follow our lead. Not that we should outright bring them into our political system like a proper state.

Canada will become a Territory like the US Virgin Islands. There will be no Federal votes. No tilting the votes to the left.
@@OldSmellerFellerthen why the hell would Canada want a forfeit their right to vote for the government that rules over them?

if denmark wants to hold greenland, they have about 3-4 years to hold us off.
What does he mean by take over Greenland? Is that some kind of invasion military thing I’m confused
I am surprised that the United States is not also going after Iceland!
I wouldn’t mind becoming the English state of South New Brunswick
It is absolutely not crystal clear that the people of Greenland would prefer being part of the United States. Some do. But some clearly do not, as well. They should be able to decide their fate, not have it imposed on them. Greenland has belonged to Denmark for 200 years. I support Trump, but it is not a good look to bully other countries to annex territory.
in the grand scheme, that doesn't matter much.
Trump is acting like Hitler about to liberate Czech for fuck sake
@ScorpionF1RE_USA it's the difference between right and wrong. In the grand scheme of things, that may matter in ways we have no grasp of. No person should be killed for the US to possess Greenland, if it came to a clash of wills, lets put it that way.
@@johns7530I agree with you
Did they "decide their fate" when Denmark forced itself on them?
I think we should annex Greenland, Nunavut, Northwest Territories, and Yukon. Also we have to give northwest territories a real name
what will come out soon is canada has always been american
Trump's previous Canada tariffs didn't last, Amercia prices increased too high and lost jobs, Trump dropped the tariffs within a year.
I say we make a deal with Canada to annex Yukon Territory, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut, and leave the rest to Canada.
Alberta is the province that makes the most sense
I would add Alberta and Saskatchewan to that, as those are both conservative (by the Canadian definition) and resource-rich areas that would also create a secure overland connection between the Arctic and the rest of the US.
President Trump better get something done b4 2027 midterms
The only thing this does Is move Denmark and Canada closer to the EU, if they strong arm Denmark and Canada through military force they have no leg to stand on when it comes to opposition to Russia reacquiring former Soviet territories (relevant to the current Ukraine situation which the US is deeply invested in...)
There seems to be an assumption that Canada wouldn't look at a position of neutrality in the next global conflict which is odd given the increase in hostility. If the response is military see the paragraph above.

There’s no way people are seriously calling the Greenland deal globalism. How is a territory moving from control of one nato country to another nato country really changing anything politically in the grand scheme of things beyond the resource money just being in our pocket now, instead Denmark’s?
