I’ve been trending towards lower and lower gas as well. What’s the humidity like in the Roastery? Mines between 17% and 20% and I wonder if that has an affect on it. Either that or I’ve just been using way to much gas for to long. MCR 500g and MCR 3k. I thought 1.6 was low with a 1 min soak
Maybe 1.6 is low for you being that your max gas at your roastery is considerably different from the max gas at Mill City. these gas numbers he's calling out mean nothing to you & me.
Again another great vid hope to keep seeing these as I am looking to purchase one of your roasters!
Great video I learn something new every time I watch your videos. Thanks

Hi AJ. Humidity has minimal effect on roasting. It's a much greater concern for greens. If you need more heat, eliminate the soak.
@@MillCityRoastersMN I feel I need less heat. I am gonna keep dialing it back

@@quailstreetcoffeeroastersm6674 acutally his numbers 100% helped me dial things in more and I’ve since gone lower for my initial gas setting.
If I have a 6K roster of yours would 1.4 KPA give me the same roast curve if I was doing a larger batch or would I need to go up on the gas?
Hard to predict, Greg. Call the office at 612-886-2089?
