- We got our chance to pick up our puppy Kinsey at 8 weeks from our breeder (Shoreline Kennel). It rough trying to decide on our final choice. It was fun seeing the puppies playing, sleeping, dynamics with their mom, and getting groomed.

Back in the 70's, my wife and I were walking thru a mall in Atlanta when we spotted a Kheeshond puppy in a pet store. Just starting out, we had very little money and this puppy was really expensive. We both held him and fell hard, but we hurried out and spent the next half hour trying to convince each other that we couldn't afford such an expense. We hurried back, afraid someone else might have gotten him and produced our new and only credit card and took "Truman" home with us. You know, we survived the cost and enjoyed 16 years of love, companionship, and entertainment that you couldn't but a monatary value on. Still miss you Truman.

I have had 3 keeshonds, and I will promise you there is no greater, gentle, more loving, happy dog in the world. Once you own a Keeshond, you will never want a other breed of dogs. My last one passed away 1.5 years ago, due to my age I did not get another puppy. But I always love to look at these amazing dog when I find pictures of them. Thanks for posting and sharing the joy of your Keeshond puppies.
I am sorry to hear that you couldn't get another dog. You fully called it with the fact that once you have a Keeshond, you will never get another breed. They are the best. We took care of a puppy for a friend last week. What an adventure that was. I am glad I could share my great fun with you.

The longest I could stand not having one was five days. It wont replace the lost one but it sure salves the heart.

I agree. I had one. Even though he passed in 2004 I’m still saddened at losing him. He was love incarnate. My darling Yogi. 😢😇😇

While not rare, they are uncommon. When we took our puppy to obedience training the trainer said he had trained over 1500 dogs, but this was only the second Keeshond he had seen. I still remember the first day. We were one of the last to enter the training area, and had to go to the other side of it to our spot. Our little Kuma strutted across that like he owned the place. Head high, chest jutting out, he received quite the chuckles of admiration.

I had my dear Keeshond for 14 years, but I didn’t raise him from puppyhood. He was the most beautiful being I’ve ever known. Now 33 years after his death, I’m dreaming of getting a Keeshond puppy.
They sure are the best dogs out there. They have the best personality. If you ever need some Keeshond love and are in SD, let me know...our kids love to share.

There's been 5 Kees in my family over the last 45 years, we just lost our current one two weeks ago due to heart complications. Hoping to get our sixth Kees puppy by Christmas, not to replace her but to receive the love I still want to give to a Kees.
Sorry to hear for you loss. We have been there before too. It is very hard loosing a family member like this. Each Kees has a very different personality. I hope Christmas brings you a new little bundle of joy.

They are SO GOOD! Loving, protective, playful and smart. I'm glad I got mine fixed yet I had to have 1 litter. I got a white, red and a brindle. Lap dogs! Ha!! Thanks for sharing.

I love taking our 5000 keeshond to the park everyone asks questions and alot ask to pet her she is worth the price so beautiful and cuddleee

We currently have three Kees and an Eskimo. The Kees are 4 months, 2 years, and 3 years old. Needless to say there is a lot dog play action all day long.

This was a wonderful video to watch reminding me of my Keeshond "Tea" that I lost today and when she was a puppy. Full of energy and was a great pet for our family and we're going to really miss her this holiday season...
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. We have felt your pain before and know it oh too well. Kinsey just turned 8 a few days ago and still acts like a puppy with her siblings. I hope you get another one after you finish healing. Much Luv!

Hey Greg, congrats to your wife and Kinsey on the dog show wins. That is a terrific accomplishment! We just started showing our Kees and he is halfway to his title (our wonderful breeders are showing him for us). Kinsey is a beautiful little Kees. Kees are the absolute best breed: smart, sweet, playful, loves people, especially kids. Continued success on her road to her Champion title!

My family has a Keeshond his name is Ukon (Pronounced Yukon) for some reason for the first 2 1/2 yrs. of having him he would pee in the house all the time and we don't know why because he knew that he was supposed to go to the bathroom outside. IDK if it's because he's the runt or if we got him fixed too early or it was just a behavior issue. Anyway, now he ALMOST never goes inside. He is da best doge eva tho.

Loved it! I got a Keeshond at 8 weeks old in April, 2013. He's a very rambunctious boy, but getting better with time, slowly. Very slowly. Cesar Milan would say I'm a bad owner.
+Jon Sweemer Thanks Jon. I know what you mean about being energetic. The bread loves to play, lick, run, and jump. The training is essential to keep your fur baby in order. We showed Kinsey this weekend for the first time. It was my wife's first dog show ever. Kinsey won best in class, best bitch, and best in winners at the San Gabriel Kennel Club show. It was wild.

We are bringing our new 8 week old home just after Valentiens Day and I have to say, it IS a toug choice when you get to pick from several cutie pies who do have different vibes ! Did you have any deciding factors? We go back Tues to have another visit so my 9yo can make her final call. mellow boy & independent first born girl are the finalists !
That is such a great Valentine's Day gift. We look for a dog that is confident and has energy but not too much energy. We love boys because they are so cuddly. We show our dogs in confirmation and now breed our dogs so we look for the top show dog based on structure too. Best of luck!

How do i get one? I had one that lived to be 18. I so miss her.
Find a local breeder in your area. It is best to go through reputable breeder because they test the bitch and sire before breeding them. They also have a contract which works both ways.
May I ask who this breeder is or where they are located? They look like a very reputable breeder. I am waiting a puppy for July pick up in CO ( we live in PA). Amara my 12 yr old keeshond just passed unexpectantly 3 weeks ago and I miss her SO much. I am going thru shadow withdrawl.

So now we're going to get a Keeshond puppy and it's going to be like your first video when you brought that puppy home and there was your American Eskimo. Too funny ...what a small world. You have good taste! Lol
