My '97 MIK Epi Sheraton is a well built guitar. It's a beauty! I replaced the pups with later EPI '57 ones because the original Samsung pups were too microphonic. I also had a DeArmond S-73 from 1999 or 2000 that was MIK. It has American made DeArmond humbucking pups. It's an excellent guitar. After owning it and enjoying it for nearly 20 years, I traded it and a Mexican Strat to my brother for a Gibson SG. I have 3 Reverend guitars. they are MIK. Excellent guitars.

Woohoo that Sheraton is gorgeous. I got an MIK Sheraton II in lefty. Everyone says the pickups are muddy. I say they're perfect for me as Blue's player. I love mine. Paid $399 used, but it's supposedly a factory second. I can't find a single thing wrong with it at all. The top ain't the prettiest, but it's a Blues machine.

I have a Korean made Epiphone Joe Pass Emperor with the pickup selector on the treble side of the upper bout. Can't find the year of manufacture because it has no label and the serial number wasn't stamped properly. It's missing more than half of the serial number.

If you want to pick up an incredibly well made instrument???? Pick up an Eastman. You can source a used Les Paul shaped model they offer,....that's handcrafted, Lollar pups, Faber hardware, Nitro finish and hardshell case for around $1800. It will rival any core offering Gibson has. And some custom shops for that matter. I'm currently drooling over they're
SB/57 DC Jr with a Lollar dogear P90. They are simply glorious. Custom shop build quality for a quarter of the price. They also has a guitar I recently played called the Romeo. It's honestly one of the best feeling and playing guitars I've ever held. Another one is the
El Ray. Wonderful instrument. I can't recommend Eastman enough. Especially for a made in China brand. Not your typical made in China guitar. That's for sure.

I have an MIK Epiphone Les Paul Standard 2002, and it is a significantly superior guitar to my Gibson Les Paul Studio from 1995, in tone, feel and build quality.

Think I have and Epi Les was made in Korea, sounds great, but weighs a ton. What do you think of the Fender Tex Mex loaded pick guards currently being sold new?

loaded pickguards are a great deal. Other than custom shop, all the pickups seems to be made in Mexico anyway, they're all great pickups coming out of there lately. You essentially pay for the parts and get it assembled for free.
