Wow finally! Utada Hikaru is definitely a Jpop Queen! She was born in New York but her parents repeatedly divorced and remarried many times(I don't know the details, but I think it was repeated eight times!) so she spent childhood back and forth between Japan and the US. She made a major debut at the age of 15 and graduated from the American school in Japan at the age of 17(she skipped a year and was fast tracked) and entered Columbia University. Although her activities as a singer have been going well, her private life is filled with turbulence, experiencing illness and two divorce. And.. the most sad thing is that her mother committed suicide.. Utada Hikaru gained a great glory but at the same time she was in the depths of despair.. Currently, she resumed singer activities while raising her son as a single mother xD All of her songs are wonderful, but "simple & clean" from ending theme of Kingdom Hearts series is my favorite. Just try it when you have time xD Thank you so much

I still remember the time when she broke record by selling her 1st album 9 millions copies in Japan alone... when she was only 16-17 years old.. Not to mention she wrote her own songs!! I am still humming 'Automatic' till these days, not to mention the iconic 'dance'..' First Love' is a song that made me interested in learning Japanese language..I still remember the robot in the MV for 'Can You keep a Secret'.. I cried when I listen to 'Final Distance' for the 1st time.. I remember watching her washing dishes in the MV 'Hikari', yup only her washing dishes for the whole thing.. & 'Deep River' is such a beautiful piece.. Watching her made me felt nostalgic..
