its a shame at how many people in todays world will go without appreciating music like this. and even the history, better yet. as someone who listens to all kinds of music, mainly metal, music like this just satisfies that musical craving other genres cant fill.
Agreed entirely. When I listen to modern music, it usually is soft rock or disco from the 70s. Occasionally classic country, bluegrass, vaporwave, 90s melodic death metal, and 80s pop. But this music, and ancient Greek, Roman, and Sumerian music, I find myself enjoying more often than not these days.
Nice picture in the video, but he's not Italian. It's a painting of William I, Prince of Orange, leader of the Dutch rebellion against Spanish Hapsburg rule, assassinated in 1584. The painting is by Adriaen Thomasz. Key, and is in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
ravissant, musique peut-être sans prétention mais extrêmement agréable à écouter. La qualité du musicien y est pour beaucoup, car la même partition peut être ennuyeuse. Merci pour ce joli moment
We all related to each other in some way. Our ancestors liked to have children out of wedlock. Especially Blue Blood Royals. I just find surprising the picture of Protestant William I. of Orange in dominantly Italian music video. Though, well, Italy was home for Flemish-Burgundian school of musicians at the beginning of the 15th century.
Why is there a picture of "Vader des Vaderlands", Willem de Zwijger on a Italian Lute Music video? Don't get me wrong, I love the painting, I love the music, heck I love the combination. But it somehow lacks relevance... Or I'm just so damn Dutch that I can't imagine any other song but "Het Wilhelmus" when I see that face.
That's not Dutch enough, I hear "Het Wilhelmus", "Wien Neêrlands bloed" and "Merck toch hoe Sterck" all being played at the same time at a ridiculous volume.
Ragossnig is a guitarist and his lute playing is full of "guitar feeling". It is not filologically correct but is musically stirring and moving. Great artist!
Yes, amen, I have to agree with you. Tha Paciolian & da Vincian times are quite wonderful. Who wouldn’t value Lute music? Especially at the lunch hour. I greatly appreciate your posting. Lord knows… it meant a difference for me. In closing, I wonder… if you… would say that these enlightened tunes, i.e. productions are the forefunner of (color) TV, which happens to have its roots here in the US?
I think this William of Orange died in 1584 - maybe an earlier ancestor of yours as you don't seem to include sufficient "greats". He certainly seems to be in Elizabethan costume.
Assuming she's about 20 (going off the pic in her profile), each generation would have to have a gap of 51 years, which is extremely unlikely. Possible, yes, but unlikely.

Your mind is transported through time to another world. You sit and listen but you are travelling
5 dislikes?
Clearly those people snapped their lute strings attempting these masterpieces
great music, nostalgic!
I suspect that the 7.83 Hz Schumann resonance is why I find this musique soooo relaxing! Where 440 Hz by design is irritating.
This music is wonderful as is the performance!
Thanks a lot for posting.
He was a man of few words it's said!
Wonderful!!!
What a beautiful music!!!

Guillaume le Taciturne was this Prince on the painting called, i.o.w. Willem de Zwijger.More or less the founder of the Netherlands

7.33 - a setting of a lovely French children's song.
Su simplesa e ingenuidad la hacen autentica y bella, una mirada placida a una realidad perdida en el tiempo.
I like this music! It sounds nice~ ^-^
Renaissance music (along with other music I won't list to save time) will always sound nice to me~ ^-^
Italian Music!
I live in Mantova, Village of Gonzaga family.
This music reminds me at these times

Fabulous lute music!
Italian art is unbeatable!
Bob je découvre encore un bon, un bon du passé. Musique enchanteresse, d'extreme beauté

Well done.
I do find it funny that a video called "Italian Lute Music" has a thumbnail picture of the most famous Dutchman of all time on it.

sorry pal, 1560
Not gonna dislike the whole page, but the music, well, I like the more drunken merry of old irish music
Robbie Holter look up folk irish medieval music or lute
this is like the music from mount and blade: with fire and sword.
I think you might need to add a few more greats there.
Corrijo: me gustaría.....

omg, that's priceless
This is very nice but who is the musician/artist playing this? I feel like I'm sitting next to a bard....
@JaxxWiinkler Nice! Hail to you, Jaxx Winkler of Orange! lol

William of Orange :)
prince william of orange never did set sail to the new world he was kild in the city of Delft
Well, maybe an Alessandro Farnese's picture , the Duke of Parma , was more appropiate.
as in william the silent?
The picture is of the Dutch king... lol
ok

Thumbs up if you came to this from Kesha-DieYoung Instrumental version.
