I was born in the right century, so I can enjoy the music fron 16 century by Internet... and also music from 17 century.
truee 2chainz !!!!
+rmanzanog1 Real shit, it really is a great time to be alive.. you can literally listen to any type of music.. and I love that so much because I grew up on grunge and metal but I have always explored new music and if I was old by the time the internet came around (and really learned how to use it) I wouldn't be able to find all the different kinds of music throughout time.. I am so glad the internet exists and fuck those who say the world was better without it.. because it simply isn't true
+Pseth Malone My bad on the terrible grammar.. I don't feel like fixing it though.
The world would be better without the internet
rmanzanog1 isn’t it grand?!
Only 1500s kids will understand this beauty :)
hahaha
¡MUY BIEN!

Thats a portrait of Joanna of Castile who had a really sad life.

Indeed!...Went into posterity as Joan the mad. But there is more evidence arising that she was truly a victim of Philip the fair's womanizing cruelty...

Thank you for doing that.
Hi, that's Joanna of Castile, daughter of Isabella I of Castile, the Catholic queen. She was the mother of Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor. She didn't have the best life, they gave her the nickname "the Mad", while in reality she wasn't. But it's worth to investigate about her life.

Very beautiful music and I love the picture of my 15th.greatgrandmom Joanna.
I know that woman. She is always sad. I even bumped into her once on a farm market in the castle. #1500story

1500s or 16th century was a period of european renaissance/rebirth, age of discovery and conquests and also the beginning of globalization that definitely brings us at the eve of modern age.
Thanks to creators, producers. Here presented, a period of history. Accompanied by period images. An entering that aids the imagination.

You're chilling out, reading a book, one sunny spring day in your humble little villa. A soft tune could be heard in the wind, the strum of a string instrument.
You leave your room and walk down the beige tiled hall barefoot, to investigate the source of the lovely tune.
The music leads you to your veranda. Grape vines coil around the beautifully sclulpted pillars that support it. A cool gentle breeze carries a few strands of your hair.
Sitting upon the ledge of the veranda, over looking the tiled roof town below, sits the love of your life. Beautifully strummimg a song on their lute with ease.

such a nice music
Love this! Please keep it going. Amen
its the final count down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's cool because you can hear a lot of techniques that would be found in Flamenco playing later on
The first performers are Flauto Dolce. A good find.
I really enjoyed this gracie.
Yes, it changed, of course, but lightly... Any Spanish speaker could understand today. You can easily read original "El lazarillo de Tormes" (1554). Jewish from Sefarad (Spain) preserved that old language, they call "Ladino" (from "Latino") because they lived in countries where no other Latin language was spoken.
i was born in the wrong century the 16 century was where quality music was at
+sam giess The real music is in heaven.
+Allen K So real music doesn't exist?
Ar ar ar ughah!
+sam giess nah dude you were born in the right century, not many people lived long in those days, very difficult time for many .
Purplegreen45 well that's productive advice
Perfecta! Muy graciosa!
It is Not lute music , it is vihuela music, there is no spanish lute music. in spain they used the renaissance 4 courses guitar (a',e',c',g') and the vihuela, a flat back 6 courses instrument, quite simillar to the guitar but tuned as a renaissance lute (g',d',a,f,c,G) and this is the root of the mistake, it is possible to play all vihuela repertory on a renaissance lute without the need to retune.
its boring
Gorgeous in its simplicity. Konrad's playing is superb. Thanks for posting.
Indeed.
Q lindo 😍
Poor Juana you weren´t mad, you could have been a fantastic queen like your mother.
"Ya, cavalleros, dezir vos he la verdad
qui en un logar mora siempre, lo so puede menguar;
cras a la mañana, pensemos de cavalgar,
dexat estas posadas, e iremos adelant."
(Cantar del Mio Cid - The song of My Cid)
The lute was not used in spanish renaissance music because of its arab origins. Instead the vihuela was used in place of it. In Spain of XVI century anything related to the arabs, who occupied the country for centuries, were by no means well regarded.

I thought i am the n;y one getting raptured from this music ;Luis de Narváez (1500-c.1555) Mille regres. La cancion del Emperador
I would totally go if they existed today!!!!
Lovely music but it's not lute music it's Vihuela music, all vihuelas music can be played without adaption on the Renaissance lute. Due the same tuning.

Is the woman on the painting o Juana la Loca?
yes sir.
She’s Joan 1 of Castile, the mad it’s because she was obsessed with her husband Phillip but that’s none of your business.

No, se llama Juana 1 de Castilla.
S P Si.
