I really want that rumored medium format Fuji. I love fuji, but really much more realistically, the EOS R would be the perfect camera since my lens collection is all EF.
I see your point with the 4K about wildlife but the Sony a7R III you have the opinion to shot 4k Uncrop, 4k apsc (1.5x), or every 4k apsc+clearview zoom (1.5x*1.5x). I came from Canon to Sony. Yes I loved my 5D III but i just don't see Canon evolving at the pace of Fuji, Panasonic, or Sony. W

I've been wondering about that since there are many that look the same. my question has been; why would someone buy this one over this one, when they look similar? it tells me to look for different angles more than I normally would.

Yup, another classic spot. And honestly, it doesn't do much for me. I love Elia, but that's a composite of sunrise and blue hour when the lights are still on. The location is good, but still doesn't blow me away. I think I was expecting Cinque Terre type locations. I really was struck by the simplicity of the photos in Santorini.

Call me a luddite but you said lots of words I recognise but did not understand your sentences. 4k 160 mill cheating spouses? yeh, whatever! There is a cracking bar/taverna on Mykonos, in the north. Amazing place with crazy food and a great swim. Bit of a mission to get there but wow! Keep doing your thing BVS I love it when you speak geek.

But I think the argument (I heard) is that if you want to go wide: Not only do you have to potentially buy a new lens but you may also have to deal with more distortions (and other problems like filters etc.) that come from using a very wide lens (or at least pay premium for lenses with fewer distortions). And btw. not sure about Canon, but Nikon has had an option that you can set to only use the middle, APSC sized portion of the sensor for ever on their ff now. And this setting does work for stills. I just assumed that canon had that too.

#cropgate Loved the cropped video. I get the importance of 4k when you are showing a movie 100 feet across a movie theater wall, but I've yet to really feel the need to view anything 4k on my iphone, ipad or even on my 5k monitor. Somehow life still goes on despite what the world of youtube would lead me to believe should happen. Glad to see you are out making it real and not getting all emotional about card slots and crops.
Great vlog as always Brendon my issue was not with the 4k as I do mostly landscapes and stock stuff but the price of the lenses and the one card slot did it for me. I have had good quality cards fail on occasions and been saved by the redundancy. I do get fed up hearing all these old guys banging on about the old days when they only had one film bla bladibla! I'm an old guy from the old days (65) believe me I'm glad for modern tech= two slots boy! it makes sense.
Ive not had many but I'll not get the chance to go back to many of the places I've been recently so it suits me to have the backup. I also backup to two separate drives as well as my MacBook when travelling. Probably over cautious :-)

Heli pad doesn't mean airport. Dji has an map with the locations that are restricted and it's not included. According to a Greek follower, Oia is the only place on Santorini where you can fly.
Most modern cameras that has full frame 4K also has a crop mode you can choose if you wish, so this should not be presented as an advantage for the EOS R. It's still a limitation. A limitation that is "optional" on other cameras (like the Sony A7iii). Canon really messed up with the EOS R. I was set on getting it as a secondary camera, but now i'm pretty sure i'll go with Fujifilm X-T3 instead. Thanks for another nice vlog:) Keep it up Brendan.
I was there last time in April 2018. and there were couple of signs "no drone allowed" around Byzantine fortress on poles and walls. I was even snap a photo of one of those signs in Oia. I'll try to find it and if it's not deleted I'll send you a link.

For landscape work keep your SLR or buy the Fuji. I'd wait for the EOS Rii or the rumoured "high end Canon mirrorless if you want a Canon mirrorless.

On the 4k crop issue on the eos R , some togs I know film and photo a lot of macro subjects. So un cropped 4k would be very useful.

You "can" but it would be hell. You'd fight it the whole time. You can, however put the Lee CPL on the front of the lee holder system

I think I must be lucky. 10 years and I've never had a memory card failed in camera.

If you open the maps, actually. It is about 10km. We traced it. And, actually, we didn't see signs.
